while that may be happening way too often the last few years, this thread has nothing to do with just one game. Its just a prediction since I don't think that he is happy (enough) here, wants to win now, and may want out.

No need to get defensive for melo so easily.

You wouldn't have started this thread if we won the last 2 games for example, that is my point.

probably not because then Melo would not have sounded so defected and make those comments about NY.

they were in reference to Deron and his inability to hack it here.

If you think Melo is waiving his no trade you have payed attention to nothing that player says and does. A grumpy post game interview does not translate to life changing decisions. Please. This is nothing more than Chuckbuck's normal day dreams around 420pm

this is not just about his post game comments. what are the chances that you think that he waves the NTC to go to a contender?

Not sure that they could ever pull off a deal but I believe that melo is definitely open to waving if its the right situation.

Some of us won't see this decline or ill fit until we are trading Ewing for Glenn Rice again.

Buy low, sell high.

I wonder if a Melo-KP combo would help entice KD to sign here though.
I definitely understand the reasoning behind selling now and could get behind that too.

I'd say a majority of logical basketball and true Knicks fans would sign up for a healthy KD-KP combo in a heartbeat. Need to find a taker for Melo's (NTC waived of course) fast declining prime somehow first though.

yea the idea of KD coming here to play with Melo is redundant and quite frankly ABSURD

Now replace Melo with KD and tell me where to sign

No, it's to play with Melo AND KP. It's probably not worth the gamble, though, and we can't afford risking 4 more years of declining Melo at $24 mil per. If we got back an expiring contract in a deal involving him, we'd have cap space to sign KD and 2 more very good starters.

Small baseketballs is just your typical keyboard warrior with an axe to the grind. Harmless.

people say things over and over then quote them as facts because "people are talking about."

We saw it all summer with how hateful Melo was about the KP pick, Phil's plan and Melo's total lack of caring about the team (when in fact he was organizing private workouts and team functions and KP comes in saying Melo is like a big brother).

Guns you yourself said over and over that you are "highly concerned" about any prospect's chances to develop with a ball hog like Melo in the picture. How is KP's development coming?

I read the exchange between bigball and mreinman and that was fine. mreinman is a big boy and can either stand by what he says or can walk away. mreinman has NO issue taking Briggs to task for pretty much every comment he says and bringing it up thread after thread. The "olympic mreinman" comment was funny. It was a fair excange. Nobody got banned!

Melo is an impossible player to discuss here because posters jump in with 4 years of emotional baggage they need to validate. The stuff I have read about this player on this forum is incredible. Thread after bull**** thread from the Melo mind readers. Dude is a rich jock, he's not running for office. He's also done everything that has been asked of him this year including sharing the ball more, shooting less, playing better defense and mentoring the younger players. The only real problem is his shot sucks right now and we dont have much scoring. THAT is the real issue!

funny coming from you, but as the authority on the subject perhaps it carries some more weight.

Ummmmm, that was gunsewing's point. It seems his attempt at wry humor escaped you.

I too am aware I'm just words of a screen. The idea that anyone is trying to be 'intimidating' on the internet is a manufactured conceit.

This is all vapor. No one - on my end or yours - should be taking it seriously.

Indeed, doesn't prevent us, however, from saying you're fixated ChuckBuck, and as far as I can tell, seem mostly aimless and never actually seem to have a point.

I'm glad at the very least that this is proving Melo is no Kobe when it comes to preventing player development. Melo has done nothing but prove to help it, as credit is given unsolicited by KP each interview. But why believe him? It doesn't fit the agenda at all smh.

Or maybe KP is a good dude, and doesn't want to ruffle any feathers while he's still the rookie on the team.

Next year will be a different story, as it'll be KP's team.

Clearly, so why are you fixated on Melo? Why is your entire Knicks fandom boiled down to an issue you have no power to affect.

I'm not keyboard warrior as we agree. So you don't have to be the guy who shrugs off any fair, genuine question with a poor attempt at humor.

What is the point of it all? Man up, say something earnest. I'm genuinely interested.

Ok you got a point Fish. I can't kill Melo for stunting KP's development. Only the Knicks development under his tenure from now on

When it comes to Melo, there is no happiness, only pain and sorrow. Truly despicable human being. Can't cheer for that clown. His whole mannerism and game grates me.

The issue isn't KP's explanation of it. The issue is KP'd quite obvious development. Again, whatever opinion one may have shouldn't prevent them from acknowledging Porzingis is developing rapidly with Melo as the team alpha dog. That legitimately speaks to some of the more damming criticisms of him.

Wouldn't that be fair to say?

And as I mentioned in the thread you started yesterday that got zero attention because of this problem. Next year is a long ways away. I for one also hope KP is the better player that is ready to be the team's center of gravity.

But we have a LONG way to go until then. That you can't even manage to wish for a better result THIS year speaks volumes. You clearly prefer that Melo is struggling with his shot.

Which btw, almost certainly makes you different from KP. You admire him so much, follow his lead.

No, you can't do that either. You can only predict and anticipate… or really, hope...

KP has become the Alpha dog already as evidenced by his higher win shares over the rapidly declining Melo.

It's not a long way to go, it's already happened. Only difference is one makes 124million.

I predict that Melo will wave his no trade clause and wants out
