That excites us to want to go out, compete even harder.

watched the game last night. Bickerstaff was pretty vocal. He is gonna push those guys hard. Had a good vibe about him.

Are you serious???

If you REALLY watched the game, you would have noticed that Houston went "ISO HARDEN" for 90% of the game. I thought you hated that kind of selfish play...or do you only hate it when Melo and the Knicks do it?

I love when people who don't watch the games question if I watch the games.

Harden was terrible in the first half and so was the team. Harden went ballistic at the end and many of those plays were ISO's.

I have no problem with ISO's if they are working and if use correctly. He was also getting fouled on every other play. Harden showed how you take over a game.

I have nothing against ISO's at all. MJ was great at it, Lebron was, Dirk was, Wade was ...

you also really need to pass out of ISO's too. If you get tripled teamed and you still chuck it, its nauseating.

I did watch, which is why I questioned it.

We saw the same game and came away with two different opinions of how the game went, which is fine. He did take over and played out of his mind, at the end, like you stated but they looked pretty sloppy to me....but hey.......they won anyway.

So when Harden talked about player roles in the team meeting I would assume it was decided that his role was to shoot and make turnovers...

I guess they pay coaches as much as they do because they have to put up with fools like Harden and Howard...might not be worth it.

It was mentioned in the USA Today article by Amick also.

I've never heard one of Melo's teammates ever had that problem

Maybe Tyson but that was when he was passing the buck. I know Kidd loved playing with him.

Amazing.. When Melo is reportedly unhappy with how things are going it was all a farce and a complete lie but when Harden is being reported on its automatically true? Kewl.

Does anything that transpired since the draft looks like that report was remotely true?

Players on the rockets allegedly talked to someone in the Sam Amick article about the players only meeting and said that Harden was one of two topics discussed. Also, when Melo was reportedly unhappy posters went wild and posted all kinds of junk about him. If I am a Rockets fan I might pause as the players didn't give their names. But players exiting a meeting sounds a bit more reliable than what Stephen A. was saying.

Why would Harden's play being criticized by teammates surprise anyone?

The Melo thing was mentioned briefly by Isola on Hahn the other day. Won't get into what he said because I'm a changed man , and am trying not to bring up this particular past... and Anthony has changed in a great way.

All I will say is that I respect what good journalists and reporters report.

Depends on which season. If it was last season I would find it quite suprising that the guy who practically single handedly led his team to the Western Conference Finals where they would eventually lose to the NBA Champs...Their teammates would be lucky to have a guy like him on their team.

This season we are literally only 11 games in. His defense is suspect and his shot isn't up to scratch but all that will come back to him, and he has accepted responsibility that he has to step up it up a bit. give it twenty more games and we will see who will be criticizing who.

Surprised Hahn mentioned it because he has always put the 'ridiculous' comment in the context it was said. Also, Morey was the only gm to go there with the poison pill contracts. He screwed over the bulls and Knicks. I am a bit surprised he has fans from the knick fan base.

Well, there was a large billboard with Anthony wearing Lin's #7 Houston uniform put up during the courting period last year...No?

And Kobe did play with Howard...Right?

Strong enough connections for me.

But what does any of that have to do with McHale being fired from the Rockets? Seriously, if there is a direct connection there, point it out to me. I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I'm trying to figure out how this turned into a debate about Melo and Kobe, when neither of them had anything at all to do with McHale. It's just amazing, to me, how off the rails a conversation thread can go as soon as you mention the name of someone who apparently has nothing much at all to do with the topic at hand!

The game and a team is about much more than individual metrics.

A team is an entity in itself, and individual success does not necessarily lead to a team unity, cohesion, and optimum team performance.

Some folks are getting away from the old cliche that the whole can be much greater than the sum of its parts. McHale came from a background where this was understood. Not sure that some of the players on Houston understand this.

Dwight left about 25 mil on the table to get away from D'Antoni. I don't think they are reunited in Houston.
