At this point Im pretty sure Splat is some smart ass ivy league kid doing his sociology dissertation on "the popularity of the negative persona" and is simply using UK forums as his play ground.I cant remember him talking very much basketball, unless its to directly back up his anti-Phil is a whore/anti-Melo agendas. If your in line with those ideals your posts will be responded with positives and fluff and funny pictures. If your in contrast with those ideals your logic will be faulty. Perhaps you will even hate women and froth at the mouth as I have been accused off. He gained support when called out by another poster and used that to rally his popularity. If you look back at its simply too cunning and calculated to be legit. He was quite methodical in his approach (and his paper is probably due now)
Ultimately it was as I predicted. Splat is just another fart in the wind. Makes some noise, gets some attention, maybe even stinks for awhile, but in the end if there isnt something of substance your just going to drift away.
The only, ONLY reason for Splat to create a thread like this to count how many people say "awww... dont go." (suckers)
All we are is a fart in the wind
a fart in the wind
uhhhh ohhhh a fart in the wind
I remember a number of legit posters who made "I leaving" or "I'm taking a break" posts. I don't care for them but its not just Splat.
His point was that he knows that going after posters (e.g. Nix) is not allowed by the mods (with reason) and that he needs to go after him because he needs to call him out for perceived stupidity and if that means that he gets nuked or banned or neither then he will have to pay that price.
which is retarded in itself. Perspective. You join a forum on a site dedicated "to pure Knicks love" and cant stop yourself from attacking a guy who's name is nix-luva because all he ever sees is the glass half full. I mean talk about misguided... and its ironic on top of that. Splat might be the most single minded agenda driven poster I have ever read here. The only time he "changed" or "softened" his views were so people could see him doing so... thus the experiment in sociology. As long as your talking about Phil's whoredom or Melo's poor play and selfishness Splat is warmest and fuzziest of posters. I would say his views are more rigid than Nix's by plenty. How long has splat been here? Has anyone ever met him? But yea.. the farewell thread is telling. Notice the bold above
Exactly, it's like me joining a 'food lovers' forum dedicated to pure love of food and then complaining about a poster because they keep posting about how delicious food is instead of the health implications.
Thank you fish....seems like some people are afraid to speak up. I believe you made some much needed points so far. I told splat before that he needs to create the I hate the Knicks thread. And I hate everybody that loves the Knicks thread. Somewhere Eny is kicking back smoking a cigar called "I told you so"....
I toned it down because it was too much one on one stuff on a Knicks fan site where people come to enjoy knock stuff. Instead it turned into "I don't like you" because all you see is the good in everything. LMAO
He's on a Knicks board with the cautionary description "Pure Knicks Love" as a professed loather of the Knicks,
proceeds to badger a Knicks lover named nixluva,
his presence is questioned by a UK OG in a poll — which he hyperbolically called a lynching,
he prevails in the polling to continue his notorious posting career,
until shortly after he crumbles under the psychic weight of nixluva's love of the Knicks.
It's hella meta. The only thing that can truly see Splat off is a send closk at this point.
There is some kind of life lesson to be learned from all of this...
One poster's "lynching" thread inspired by hate made Splat strong, while the unconditional "Pure Knicks Love" of another poster does Spat in.
Hate inspired, but Love kills...
Brings to mind the final words spoken over the lifeless body of King Kong: "Twas Beauty Killed the Beast."
It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times,
it was the age of Zen wisdom,
it was the age of Triangle foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief,
it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light,
it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of Pure Knicks Love,
it was the winter of Somber,
we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all tanking direct to the Championship, we were all tanking direct to a Perennial Loser — in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
A Tale of Two Franchises.
