Go look at how many players pick that low even made training camp, let alone a roster spot. Prigs can help any contender right now In 2017 and 2019? Are you Nostradamus now? Cmon dude, stop convincing yourself this was a good trade and go do your research, 2nd rnd picks end up in the d league, or overseas. This was a "at least i did something trade" so what are you saying? that they should have held on to prigs? Phils moves scream of inexperience. He basically traded all his veterans to winning teams, did them all a favor, and essentially kick rocks on the fans who pay extraodinary price for seats, and fans that spend 200 bucks(like myself) for league pass. Of course you want to keep as many veterans as you can when your grooming young talent and a young clueless coach I really think this bashing of Phil is extremely premature. You have yet to see what he actually does with the roster for next season. Until we see that it's really hard to kill the guy when he was working with the mess they left him originally. Now he's going to have a roster that more closely reflects his philosophy. So until we see who he drafts and who he signs in FA it makes little sense to go nuts on the guy. Everybody on this roster (except for bargi and THJ) is all phil, he completely dismantled a roster that had one bad season. In the process acquired a bunch of suspect players, that are far from understanding the triangle, or really good fits. He could have waited until the summer, or draft day to make trades. He sold his stock when it was at it's lowest point, He received pennies on the dollar like a charged off account. Now we have young, loss roster, with no leadership, no guidence, no locker room presence, no clutch player. So the learning process is that much harder, and by the end of the season, your force to add 10 new players. Dude this is looking like walsh era all over again, like I saw this movie before. Tell me something, in the 11 months phil has been here, whats the one thing he's done thats showing you he can be the MAN. Remember he called a 54 win team clumsy. You're still talking like someone who just parachuted in and has no idea what the team is doing. Why are you talking like that? You know damned well what Phil is doing and this roster needed to be trashed. You're talking like a novice when you say "he completely dismantled a roster that had one bad season." What are you talking about? You think this teams future would be better if Phil hadn't made changes? Look, he tried to make use of some of the holdovers and give them a chance but they didn't work. He said that he'd know all he needed to know by December and what he did was trash that team and nearly start over. It's going to be a completely remade roster which is what we needed to do. So keep on talking like you don't know what's going on. Talk like you haven't seen this team establish a new system and culture from the D League to the NBA team. Act like you don't know we have a 1st rd pick and cap space to bring in new talent. Act like he hasn't added picks and prospects. You know full well that the most important moves will come this summer. It's disingenuous to act like Phil isn't actively doing things to improve this franchise. you act like you don't know that he traded Tyson for calderon. Phil has said that he failed miserably ... you act like you don't know that. He gave the holdovers a chance which was extremely stupid ... he should have scouted or had the data about the holdovers and dumped them while they still had value. If I took over the team when he did, I would have cleaned house the next day. I would have traded Melo, Tyson, Shump and Timmy and would have gotten back a boatload of assets in return. However, that is unfair to say because I knew what we had and what they were worth while he was new and had no clue???? Not pretty. Don't just simplify things to make your argument sound better. Phil traded Tyson for Jose and also got picks and players, which turned into Early, Thanasis, Labeyrie, Larkin and Acy. It wasn't just Jose.PLAN A FAILED!!! Not everything else he's been doing. You can try and live off that comment but it's meaningless now given that he's moved on to Plan B. But you stay stuck on that and act like you don't know what is going on. Sure Phil could've come in and just trashed the team but he didn't. He took a less drastic route 1st with very little risk given that he knew he had a pick and this was a transition year anyway. In the end he spent less than half a season taking a look at the roster and then moved on. Now we can move forward free to move in this new direction. He still has been able to establish his new culture and system throughout the D League and NBA organization. We're nearly a full season into that process. plan A we agreed failed miserable ... how many future failed plans does he get? If we have a bad record and Toronto picks a good player with our pick then plan b fails onto the make it or break it plan c? Probably at least ten, but that's a great question for Nixluva. He gave it a try with his 1st plan but didn't go all out and cut off any of his options to change direction. Phil took a conservative approach at 1st rather than come in and just trash everything. He wanted to see what was here and who might be able to adapt and be part of the future. If successful it would mean he would have fewer players to replace. He gave it a deadline of December and then he switched to Plan B which is a much deeper and longer process. There is no other plan outside of rebuilding the roster nearly completely. Plan B is a rebuild and it starts with the Draft and Free Agency, but it doesn't end there. It's going to be an ongoing process.
