I thought Leborn was the villain? I suppose some think these guys are being "selfish" for not letting the public into their inner circle? If they take max money they are also "Selfish"?

Ariza is going to be overpaid. Turner is not a very good player for the money IMO. Williams is ok and could fit into a rebuilding team. Monroe doesn't offer much rim protection and will also be overpaid. IMO these guys are decent but more pieces you pay or overpay for ONLY once you have a contender or competitive team in place. If Melo walks we shouldn't be targeting expensive vet free agents. Cheap overlooked players, draft picks, and vet mins. Either the moves are savvy and pan out or we get a high lottery pick in 2015 and then have real cap space after bargs's useless ass and Amare come off the cap.

As for Melo, I'll say it again I'm not a hater per say but the worst option is giving him the 129 mil max. Id rather he walk for nothing. Obviously a sign and trade is the best case scenario however. At this point I hope he does bolt for LA if the Knicks did indeed offer him the full max. If takes less, great, I wouldn't mind that either.

I was talking about LA not NY.

Also Turner and Monroe are 25 and 23 and still have a lot of upside.

Knicks dont seem to have interest in a trade with the Bulls but they have some pieces that could help us in the rebuild. Id want Boozer, Nikola Mirotic and both their 2015 1st round Draft picks

Every 1st round pick or young player with upside can save a years worth of rebuilding.

ok, thats cool, but I want mcdermot.. if we can get a 2016 first rounder as well, that would be an absolute steal of a deal considering the circumstances..

One day Melo is about winning and leaving NY. The next he is all about winning in NY and signing for less. Then he is all about the money and set to re-sign for our max. But that would kill the story, so now LA is a contender with their max, which sounds great until you realize is still significantly less than ours, and totally disregarding the previous "winning" storyline because if the Knicks lack talent, LA lacks everything.

I think the past generation of fans had it better: sports world whoring the media sucks. Let me know who signed where and keep it simple and real.

I'm sorry, is Melo an idiot? A shameless hypocrite? A BS artist? Or is he just trying to try and shift the blame to NY because he's chosen to go elsewhere?

How can you go on record as saying it's not about money, and you'll take a pay cut if it means winning, then when the team offers you the max but says if you take less they can build more of a winning team, pretend like your confused and disrespected?!

Where are the actual quotes from Melo? Can't believe you guys have such strong reactions to media speculation, third-fourth hand info and thinking out loud reports.....
