I like Woody, think he's a good coach who can connect with the team but, his offensive schemes leave a WHOLE LOT to be desired. If they do Fire Woody, I pray that they reach out to Sloan. Sloan would get EVERYONE PLAYING the right way

Doesn't bother me that much since we weren't going anywhere anyway, but it is pretty funny that Dolan would bring back a guy who has already shown you he can't handle the job. If what he 'accomplished' in his first go around didn't ban him for life at MSG, I can't wait to see what Mills has in store for us on his second tour. Bring on the entertainment side of sports entertainment!

Yeah the timing of this whole thing makes me believe that either Grunwald pissed Dolan off very recently or Gunwald had some personal issues that forced him to step down.

Just when I thought we were reaching some sort of stability too...

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

The ghost of The Snake (IT) returns. Dolan is never going to sell the team. He needs to become deceased before the Knicks get ownership that gives a damn about the fans and the team. Somebody pass that man a large Porterhouse and a milkshake every day. The sooner he croaks the better.

So it's safe to assume that after the big Nyets trade Dolan ordered Grunwald to make a splash. Grunwald argued that they could not add contracts that run past 2015 and Dolan settled on Bargnani? Is there any doubt now that Shumpert will be traded and Melo will get th max $29mil under mills? Is there any doubt that Grunwald kept bringing up 2015 and Dolan doesn't want to hear it. He wants a splash now

Oh it was an accumulation of things? What were they exactly? I remember reading something about the front office being divided but thats about it.

Pathetic stuff, to be honest! Dolan wanted to trade Shump for not playing in summer league, Grunnie as the voice of reason didn't. That was the start of it, then there were a few things filling out the roster. Dolan was probably annoyed at JR too. Disagreeing with a egotistical mad man is enough to get you fired- don't be looking for any logical reasoning, there's none to be found.

Say bye to Shump at the trade deadline.

This your opinion or read it elsewhere?

The splash thing is to infantile for me to wrap my head around.

One is never surprised in MSG but that is a hell of a thing! lets hope Allan can bring some grace to the position as a spokesman to the organization.

Bonn...it IS exactly what people were saying in 2009 and it was true. Just because A) we didn't get LeBron and B) we haven't won a title since the summer of 2010 doesn't mean that having a clear cap is only good if you win a title. There are a lot of teams that had tons of cap space and tons of picks that are still crappy. How can you say its overly optimistic to say we're in good shape when in fact we are in great shape salary cap wise? Now what Management does with the cap space is a different story. That is TBD. Giving STAT that contract in 2010 was obviously a bad move looking back. Hopefully now with Melo on board as the Alpha there won't be the pressure to just do SOMETHING.


Yes, salary cap wise we are in great shape. That's why I conceded that we do have point a covered. My point was that's the only 1 of the 3 conditions covered that I laid out in A to C above though, and most teams have more than 1 of those 3 resources covered.

Actually, the timing makes perfect sense. David Stern brokered the "sitdown" between Dolan and Prokhorov yesterday to discuss the co-hosting of the NBA All Star Game in 2015.

You just know Prokhorov got a "Little Man" dig in again, or took a swipe at the Knicks roster after their offseason moves.

Coincidence that the next day, Dolan rages and lets go of Grunwald?

It's pretty dam obvious...

Does look at bit too tidy as far as the timing goes. Shows in the end that Dolan will always see this franchise as money making machine and nothing else. Don't believe that Little Lord Fauntelroy wants a ring unless he can take most of the credit.

Dolan has penis envy. Prokhorov is a big dude, single, has pretty blonde russians women everywhere, likely bangs them at his will and nobody cries "harassment". He satisfies them Dude is secure in his own skin cuz he built/stole his oligopoly. Dolan is an insecure man who plays rock star, has stupid teeth and gets off firing security guards when they don't bow down to him. He needs viagra just to masterbate. Dolan looks like a neebish who got tickets from his boss for fixing his computer and programing his DVR.

Those pics of dolan with isiah and mills he looked bad, like unhealthy bad. Is it too awful to wish for bad health for him?

Looks like Allan Houston will get bumped up the ladder and handle talent and personnel decisions now. Whether that's a good thing or bad, remains to be seen.

Mills doesn't need any GM experience to be GM of the Knicks. He only needs to say one word, "YES", to Dolan. And that makes him the most qualified man for the position.
