I remember Sprewell's rant at Dolan at the Garden and Mike Breen crying about how disgraceful it was but its pretty easy to see after a few years why players and folks would feel that way about Dolan.

Why do you think it's so hard for us to get fair trades in the past. Not talking about the Melo trade though.

I think during the Walsh era everyone knew what his end game was and took advantage of him. Isish was awhile ago and seemed to try to take on every talented head case with a bad contract. Bad contracts didn't matter to him. Layden was looking for high character low upside guys for some reason and traded away talent, youth and expiring contracts to get it. I don't think Grunwald has been taken advantage of in a trade except for maybe the Camby deal but all of the players in that deal were waived so it was just second round picks?

You can't really judge Grunwalds reign until he actually has some assets. He has continued the trend of giving them up at an alarming rate. It's the Dolan erfect

Five second round picks and one compromised future first rounder to get Camby, Felton, Thomas and Bargs. The guy only has second round picks to move and aside from Camby he has done well. If he waited for those picks to maybe become something he would be long gone. As you said he doesn't have any assets.

What is so amazing about the guy is he does not get bogged down in the small petty issues as he understands people are not perfect. He expects hard work and results because thats how he came up!

Until we read the above about Dolan than I tend to believe the worst information when it infact leaks out of propoganda machine. WE talking about a guy who fires security guards if they don't "respect" who he is.

Who is he anyway?

Selective History.

He re-instated the security guard the very next day. Despite being an evil, arrogant, petulant billionaire.

As we all realize, any and almost all of the posters here at UK would be nothing but congenial, male versions of Mother Theresa, as well as the foremost model executive captains of industry and brilliant, studious basketball management geniuses, had they but the billions of dollars Dolan has.
Just ask your wife.

Some people live their lives and others type about it on the internet.

I will continue to love the Blue and Orange no matter who the owner is.

Lebron thought he was a clown.

Oh yes, yet another genius "Decision" brought to you by Mr. Floppy.

Oh my, looks like we touched a nerve with Dolan have we?

Organizational failure is a constant theme. Debate his attributes all you want but knicks record under his stewardship is not exactly inspirational.

Nobody expects "mother teresa" and all organizations make "hindsight blunders" even in route to success but this little dude is something else.

54 wins does not wipe out years of disorganizational failure. Blame starts and ends with ownership.

my wife owns and runs her own company with 25 employees. Guess who gets the profits? The losses? The glory? and teh Blame?
She'd agree.

In my business, its all on me. The good, the bad and the ugly!

Results are what matters and Dolan don't got much. If your talking about making money? He's very good at it.

Again, so if results are all that matters, why aren't you posting on the Heat site? Or Dallas? Or San Tone? Results-based fandom! See: Frontrunning

We have a rich little dickhead for an owner. Isn't that amazing? Is he fatter than you, or most of us? Who knows. Is he a very bad man? Who really knows, and who really cares? Lebron, Spree? These are the geniuses (and please, my SpreeManLove is well documented to this day) that we base opinions on? The Human Derision and Milwaukee's Finest yacht docker?

All I know is blue and orange. We can win two chips 40 years ago, we can be in the lottery 30 years ago, we can be in the playoffs and finals 20 years ago, we can spend 10 years in septic purgatory. We are now back in the playoffs, and we have Melo and some nice stories. Gulf and Western, Cablevision, Mickey Mouse. I truly don't care, other than an occasional aside to the story that goes on the court.

We post here supposedly because the Knicks are the Ultimate, in our sometimes not too humble opinions.

That doesn't make widdo Jimmie someone you want over your house. It sure as hell don't make him the pariah of the universe, either.

If we do manage to get to the Finals (weirder things have happened on his watch), will that make it all better? Or will it matter then?

Either way, he's not a player, or a winner, or a GM. He's an owner. He's here to make money, the bottom line, just like the Mrs. Nalod. At the end of each banking cycle, he's winning.

If we weren't leading the league in Home and Away attendance some years, and packing the building out almost annually, I could see your point.

Unless we'd all like to rant about how stupid those stupid Knick fans are who support the King of Minions.

Sorry it's not the players that would be drafted but having the those picks as assets to do what the Nyets did for example. Become legit contenders

Question is, who is available? Would guys do a Tyson and Shump deal for someone? If rondo is available for that, you do it...if Aldridge is available you do it.

Pipe dream but if these type of guys are available you move Shump no question.

It would have to be an absolute right deal for me trade Shump.

Only person I would trade Shump for is Rondo.

This thread is reminding me of all those who said they wouldn't trade Channing Frye for KG.
Bwahaha! I laughed then, and I still laugh now.

Shump is not untouchable in the right trade. Just not for Jared Dudley.

Nets better win it all this year....because it will be a loooooong time before they are back in is position.

2014.....lose Pierce, salary cap still over $85 mil....first rounder to Celts, Blatche will most likely bolt for big money. No 2nd round pick

2015......lose almost everyone else from current roster except old guys.....Johnson and Deron, bad feet Bropez, and Plumlee.....salary sill over $65 million for 4 guys. Chance that Hawks will use right to swap first rounders. No second round pick.

2016......still have Deron around at $22 mil. No first round pick, no second round pick

2017.......Celts have right to swap first round picks, no second round pick

2018...... No first round pick

Remind you of anyone? To me it closely resembles the IT managed Knicks.

My feeling is the only position we are in dire need at is PG. No matter how much they try Shumpert isn't a PG. Im not talking straight up, but Shump would be a central piece of the package. And to boot, Rondo isnt the perfect PG. He shoots like **** and is very surly. I personally like his attitude but I do think it can be less than ideal. Guys like Chris Paul, Kyrie, et all are arguably more well rounded but Rondo is top 3-5, imo.

Jromc, good post. I wonder if Knick fans more emotionally frail not than they were in the 80's and 90's? Me and my friends used to always say it was HARD being a knicks fan but, at the same time we took pride in our DieHard fanship.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
