I smoked a titibet, and I had a Quaalude and suddenly I'm in fishnets singing show tunes.

These things happen, but it has nothing to do with what I'm doing here with you fine gentlemen today.

So I apologize.

That being said, I'm also known to the people who know me the best as the freakin "GM."

The second part of your question that you "axed" me is "Why am I here? " I am here representing Minnesota as their new GM."

---So with that my pick is Shabazz Muhammad.

strengths: Fierce competitor with a scorers mentality ... Displays a killer instinct missing from many other prospect's games ... Uses screens to create catch-and-shoot opportunities well ... Quick lefty release, solid mechanices with range out to three point territory ... Can use his body to create space and get shots off near the basket ... Length (6-11 + wingspan) helps him get his shot off and create post-up opportunities against smaller wings ... Not afraid of contact and has the ability to get to the line at a high rate ... Was very proficient as an offensive rebounder, has a nose for the ball ... Developed a runner that looks very promising and was quite difficult to stop ... Noted for a strong work ethic, plays with a chip on his shoulder ... Wants the ball in the clutch and not shaken in end of game situations ... Length gives him potential as a defender ... Athleticism is quite solid and has an ability to play major minutes at optimum conditioning level ... Makes his move very quickly, does not stop the ball or take a lot of time off of the clock ... Shows a strong passion for the game and a will to improve ...

Weaknesses: Has trouble creating his own shot off of the dribble, shooting percentage plummets when he puts the ball on the floor ... Not a fluid athlete. Movements and overall skills appear rigid and herky jerky ... Far too reliant on his left hand, opponents know to force him to the right, and it severely limits his effectiveness ... His defensive awareness was severely tested during his lone year of college ball, must improve awareness on that side of the court ... Must improve shot selection ... Could stand to fine tune his jumpshot, become more efficient as a foul shooter ... His lack of statistical defensive production made some question his focus and energy on that end of the court ... Body language was a concern at certain points and made him appear at odds with teammates, even if that was not the case ... Sometimes gets tunnel vision, when guarded by multiple defenders will still look to shoot as opposed for looking to pass to an open teammate ... Defensive footwork can use a lot of fine tuning as far as guarding the perimeter ... Ball handling needs improvement, which most likely relegates him to the SF spot ... Despite having solid length, may be a tad undersized for the SF spot and could have a hard time at both ends of the floor against wings with greater length ... Piled up a number of injuries during his time on the UCLA campus, so question marks could arise surrounding durability ...

yellowboy you actually have two picks in a row.

Ok guys who is on the board. Can we trade out fellas? No trade partners aye. Ok what do we need.

-we need a defensive center sir

We need a what we just pick a center last year. You sure this franchise should pick a center? It's not like we have a good track record.

-well we could see if Meyers improve on D and try to pick up a vet but...

But what speak up

- well if you really want to know I think would should call up the Knicks and see what they want for Tyson.. We could offer them the 10th pick, one 2nd, and the rights to Pap.

I watched him in the playoffs. IDK

-I heard he had the flu

You know how bad the weather is here! He'd be out the whole season!

Forget it

With the 10th pick the Portland Trailblazers select...

Steven Adams

Strengths: Bigman with tremendous combination of size, length and athleticism ... Just scratching the surface of his considerable talent ... Extremely fluid. Runs the floor like a deer ... Tremendous rebounder with huge, soft hands and strong arms ... Has a great frame with broad shoulders and already has good amount of strength/weight .... Plays the game with a lot of energy/exuberance. Blue color work ethic/attitude. Has been shielded from the AAU sytem and the pampering and hype that he would have received had he been raised in the USA basketball system ... Tremendous motor and shows a willingness to compete and be coached ... His upside is considerable and he really hasn't developed any bad habits ... Has been working on correcting his jumpshot in the past year, and it has shown considerable improvement, as it had a hitch in it last year at the 2010 adidas Nations (Chicago) and now appears much more fluid ... His feel for the game is surprising considering the amount of time he's been playing the game at a high level ... His passing is good for a bigman showing excellent touch on outlet passes ... Excellent shot blocker. His length makes it very easy for him to block shots, even when he's slightly out of position ... Huge, soft hands makes him a great rebounder ...

Weaknesses: Has never played basketball against a high level of competition, however he's developed a solid base of fundamentals and holds his own against high level players ... Free throw shooting is still a major weakness to his game. But he recognizes that and is working to become better from the line ... Will need to embrace being a star. He's a humble kid and doesn't seem to be overly comfortable in the spotlight, but he has some time to develop his confidence ... Post skills are a work in progress but he seems to have a solid understanding of what he needs to do in the post ...

Here we go again. Pass the courvoisier

OKC takes C/PF Kelly Olynck. If there was one player I could signal out for being the most consistent all year it would be Kelly Olynck. There were games this year he couldve had 40 points multiple X but was held back time wise by Mark few. While he seems to have an unkown position---that simply plays along with new styles of NBA offense. He scores the ball easier than any other player coming into this draft. He rebounds very well per 40 min adjust 11 per can pass dribble(best big ballhandler in draft) and also avg 1.9 block per 40 min adj with range from the 3 pt line in. He shot in the mid 60's all year and with Ibaka and Durant make up the best new frontline in the NBA.

Number 2 pencil is on the clock.

Oh, no . . . I didn't realize the draft is underway . . . my bad.

Dallas was focusing on Kelly Olynck but, drats, Olynck has already gone to OKC so . . . with the 13th pick in the 2013 draft, the Mavericks take Mason Plumlee.

Mason isn't Dirk 2.0 but his defense is more or less NBA ready and he'll play some next year. I'd go on about Plumlee's skills but the real reason Dallas picked Plumlee was that he aced the psychological tests that the Dallas team shrink was handing out at the combine. Later, in a one-on-one interview with Dallas team sports psychologist, Don Kalkstein, Plumlee demonstrated that he was the least likely first round candidate over six feet tall who would not make fun of Mark Cuban's libertarianism.

With the 16th pick Boston selects,... Michael Carter-Williams from Syracuse
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

lol...i read an article saying MCW didnt want to play at boston
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

im going on the idea that the Hawks trade josh smith...

With the 17th Pick in the NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select Tony Mitchell, Forward, North Texas.

if there is someone who is somewhat of a clone then its tony mitchell. he can jump out of the building, he plays great defense (especially help aka blocking shots) he takes a lot of bone-headed shots, could improve his jumper but you can tell the raw potential is here for this kid.

With the 18th Pick in the NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select Tony Snell, Guard, New Meixco

snell is probably one of the most NBA ready players in this draft, he has good height, 6'7, and his jumper is water. the hawks could really use some scoring in the back court and my guess is that they would get some in return in whatever team they sign/trade josh smith to, but i can't predict that. snell is a great defender, has plus athleticism but you wonder if he's a tough guy to coach, he needs to mature.

Kyrie
Waiters
Gee
Thompson
Varejao/NOEL
------------
PG (------)
SG Ellington
SF Miles
PF Speights
C Zeller

*Like I said earlier, the Cavs have all the young pieces and assets. They just need better coaching. One spot they need is a backup PG since Kyrie tends to get hurt. Im not sure this was expected so ill throw a monkeywrench into everyones plans*

thanks briggs.. i like the transformation that i think the hawks are going to end up taking. build around horford, these draft picks and whatever you get in a sign/trade for josh smith. maybe they can get that core group right this time.
