If that were the case, a dip to .500 basketball for a few weeks would not be a cause for alarm

Fire Mike Woodson. Yeah right

3months was more than a few weeks

Dude, over the past 13 seasons .500 basketball was cause for happy face time in Knicksland

Who moved the freakin goalpost?

We just won 50 games in a sample size of less than a full season. Can you dig it?

You are making it sound like you are the only one enjoying this great run. Why do you disappear when the going gets tough? Hopefully busy praying for a turn around. Your faith seems to have paid off and I commend you

I will be honest i disappear a lot when the going gets tough because when we lose a couple games this board is floaded with trade Melo threads and blow it up threads. It is very tough to deal with when you know its just overreaction. But there is no convincing otherwise. We lose 3 in a row and we are doomed with a terrible team and no flexibility. Look back a few pages, its pathetic considering where we are right now.

It's why I find this place boring when the team has a winning streak. No one wants to celebrate - they just want to say "I told you so"

Man...I've been celebrating for a while....even after some of our loses, because I know we could've won those games. But this board is just a reflection of our losing culture. It takes time to change. With these positive threads like, "Now I believe the knicks have a chance to win it all" may be the start of this cultural change within this board.

I've always been hard on all knick fans (especially on this board) because everybody just seemed so bitter and ready to jump to the Nets or other teams, whenever we lose 2-3 games str8.... Or some even said, keep Lin or I'm leaving. I just laughed....only real knick fans can stick around for a decade, and not waver on every emotional rollercoaster.

I wish I was the type to pinpoint all those negative fans out.....I would love to hear what they are saying now. It would probably be something like, I love this run, but I'm still not a believer. Based on history, thats true. A typical knick team will win 12 str8 and get blown out by the Wizzards tomorrow. But this is a veteran team with Melo and other in their prime. Everybody has the same goal.

Well, since we went into win now mode during the off season. Got rid of Lin, and added Felton and Kidd, along with Camby, I knew this was going to be the best knick team since the 90's. Health and Woodson was my only concern, and it still is. Not sure if Woodson will be flexible enough during the playoffs with his lineups and matchup problems. But I hope he continues to prove me wrong.

Woodson is great, but anybody compared to Danfoni will look great. I like how we finally got a coach the players respect and listen to. Thats the key to all sports, regardless if the coach is good or not. Gotta have that respect.

Smith playing great off the bench (eventhough he wants to start)....Melo playing out of position (guarding big PF's / Centers and the leading scorer in the NBA)....Amari willing to come off the bench (making 100mil). Kidd being yanked in and out of the rotation (Knowing he would've liked to start). Shump playing out of position. Pablo starting off the season as the 3rd string PG. Only a coach that demands respect from players can make these changes without causing internal controversy.

Why blame the negative fans rather than the owner put made so many people feel this way for over a decade?

Gee, and I thought my purpose here was to read and write about the Knicks. Stupid me for actually reading your posts.

And your purpose, I see, is to find someone to blame? Good luck with that.

Blowing up a team does not gaurentee you're gonna have a great team or a good team. Then you are stuck again. I'd rather go with what we have now and make sure we get JR Smith an make sure he don't back slide.

The Knicks don't have picks and I think moving contracts for picks in the new cba would be very difficult. Teams over the cap have to take back identical salaries so blowing it up isn't as easy as it used to be. Not sure why you would want to blow up the best Knick team in over a decade especially when the previous gm blew things up to put this team together.

Grunwald has done a very good job adding important veteran players

That was the whole post - no criticism or anything else.

To be correct, I use the term "Somber". Hate is so ugly.

And I'm hoping (apparently another great Homer trait) one loss won't get people upset. Quite the opposite.

Homer: Well it had to end sometime. 17-1 aint a bad way to end the season though.
Somber: Actually, I can see some good out of the loss; Melo seemed to share the ball more, he took less shots, and that last second pass to Novak, under the basket...

I think it's more like this:
Homer: We lost but it was a moral victor. And we're so much better than those Knicks teams from 10 years ago anyway.
Somber: I'll reserve judgment until after the post-season.

add Warrick, make some cuts, free up some roster spots with White

Kurt Thomas
Wallace
Amare

cuts us down do 12 players to use in play offs already

in addition to the health of Martin/Chandler and the age of Kidd
Copeland at C and his focus deserves much credit with Melo and JR

Malcom Thomas just signed a 2 year extension with the Bulls after EuroLeague, 10 day contracts, to sit on the bench to use at the backup F role

I would have added Martin/Pargo way back in January at latest, I think it would have made us 2 seed with the ability to give the rest to our injured/starting players had we done so...

I think that would be a great defensive addition, especially against teams like Miami (Bron, Bosh), Indiana (George, Granger), Chicago (Deng, Gibson) and Boston (Green, Pierce). Unfortunately, I think this roster is set in stone and White isn't going anywhere because chemistry is at an all time high.

Camby should be ready when the playoffs begin and hopefully Sheed and Kurt can play, if needed.

I know one thing for sure, getting out of the first round is no longer our main goal. Prior to the streak, that seemed to be the ultimate goal aside from 50 wins and division title.

We are now certified contenders and anything less then ECF game 7, is going to be an epic failure

Epic failure? That's like calling ewings years losing to Jordan's bulls an *epic* failure.

I'm not sure you kids understand the weight or definition of the words you are using, and maybe that's what my problem is.

There was a time when epic failure meant more than "we will get them next year".

Epic failure is the lakers not making the playoffs.

This knick team getting to the ECF against the defending champs, after winning the division for the first time in a while, with the amount of injuries and losing in less than 7 games is not an epic failure.

It's a disappointment.

This is real life and only one team can win.

Try to be happy.
