As I said the way the team is built now with 40yr and 36yr old PGs Felton is needed because there are no other options or flexibility to get a better PG. Just have to hope Felton doesn't cost you a playoff series with his 39% shooting

Oh - he will don't you worry. Its always helpful to have a PG with an IQ of 68 and who can't shoot to lead you in the playoffs.

Right...

Sorry your are right.

Felton is an incredible glue guy and despite him being a complete bonehead, I look forward to him leading this team to/in the playoffs.

I do think we are winning despite his play, although I wont say he hasn't helped the team win any games, because he has.

Hell Tyson at one point was feasting off felton misses, might as well been passes.

That is funny!

It's true and sad at the same time.

It depends on what you mean by "part of the success." I think people are choosing the wrong comparison. If you ask, "Are we better off with a healthy Felton than with losing Felton, having no replacement, and forcing Kidd and Prig to play too many minutes," the answer is yes, but that's a bad question to ask because there are always other options. A better question is, "Is Felton better than what a GM should be capable of buying for 4 years, $18 mil?" He makes just slightly below the league average salary but he is way below average in scoring efficiency and does not compensate for that by being way above average in anything. Or perhaps you can ask, "Does Felton provide substantially more than a guard at a much lower salary?" I highly doubt it. How does he compare, for example, to Chris Duhon (2 yrs, $8 mil), Jason Terry (3 yrs, $15 mil), Keyon Dooling (1 yr, $1.3 mil), Louis Williams (3 yrs, $15 mil)? I'm sure there are many more examples - I just scanned the payrolls for a few teams. I think each of the guys above is a better bargain.

Once Kidd goes down and Felton gets full reign people will not be looking at Felton as a reason why we are 21-9 is what I'm saying. His 39% shooting on 16 shots will stick out like a sore thumb

Not sure about the Dopes part but yes very good point. As I've said all along Melo, Amare, Lin, Tyson, Kidd, Shump, JR, Camby, Rasheed, Cope is a hell of a team

No proof, we haven't seen that team before.

We saw 6-1 with Melo, Amare & Lin under Woodson. Something tells me the 18-6 record to end the year would not change much had Lin and Amare been healthy

We sure as hell wouldn't have gotten embarrassed by Miami in 5games

Just to get it straight...Melo wasn't your choice, DWill was better, JR is a bonehead and is dumb, Felton is a bonehead, Chandler sucks and Asik good/better alternative...But you are here trying to do what really???...Argue why this team is good without the sum of it's parts???...

Really was not a better option. I do think we can win despite his poor play.

Too much hypothetical, no way to know for sure.

I could say had D'antoni been canned like he should have that one saturday night Woodson could have taken over sooner and maybe we dont see Miami at all in the first round.

I never said Asik was better than Tyson (reading comp failure again??) - please produce your evidence

I wanted DWil over Melo who seemed like the better player at that point - You only know this because I have no problem stating this (ahem)

JR is a bonehead who is now shooting well and will soon be bricking again and then shooting well again (and always taking dumb shots) - have fun with his 3-1x in the playoffs

Very sad attempt by you here. Predictable too.

You think we can win when Kidd's back flares up again and Felton gets full reign at PG? Or do you think we will see the Charlotte, Denver & Portland Felton who shoots his team out of games? IMO right now Kidd has masked Felton's lack of efficiency and abilities as a PG

Felton will be here for the next 4yrs. Does Kidd play next year?

again at the same time Felton is needed right now because Kidd is 40 and we don't have any other options or cap & roster flexibility to get better

but we did own Lin's rights

We need a PG
