Clearly your knowledge of the game is pretty low when you think this year's success is coming from Mike D'antoni's SSOL.

Clearly, Woodson's coaching style is a hybrid of many of the coaches that he has worked with.

that is what good coaches do. They steal a little from everywhere and gain "experience" in what works and what does not.

A good coach needs adaptability to styles and personnel.

Great point MKS.

He sprinkles in the High PnR with Felton/Chandler from the SSOL playbook, the ISO Melo from the Atlanta playbook, mixed in with some Spread/Spacing offense he's learned from Bobby Knight/Larry Brown:

Yes. He sprinkled in some MDA sets, yet the knicks are one of the slowest Paced teams in the NBA - and extremely efficient.

well, in his defense, Wally was saying the same thing during KNicks XTRA when we beat the Nuggets. He said that in regards to Hahn crediting Woody with the offense. He said make no mistake, this is D'Antoni's system.

I think he kept some of Mikes plays, slowing them down a bit.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Legions of Homers: WTF, you actually saying MDA is responsable for for our success?

Nalod: Nope, woodson just ran some stuff I thought when Melo was out and we beat miami!

Legions of Homers: so you think MDA invented spacing?

Nalod: Nope. Not what I said.

Legions of Homers: We played defense, MDA doesn't run defense.

Nalod: Yeah, woodson is a better coach.......

Legions of homers: SO you think BKN is better, then go to their website!

Nalod: Uh, don't know that.

Legions of HOmers: why you even a knick fan! If oak was here he'd smack you!

Nalod: Oak?

Legions of Homers: So you think Layden would have done better?

Nalod: We doing that again?

Legions of Homers: Grunny for exec of the year! FELTON most improved!

Nalod: Context?

Legions of Homer; Whats that, Gallo only had 3 pts, shot 1 for 29 and his hair sucks!

Nalod: his hair rocks!

Legions of Homers: Phuch Lin! Dolan is god!

Nalod: You care about Dolans money?

Legions of Homers: Ha Ha LOL!!!! Lopez is always hurt!

Nalod: Walsh cleared cap space!

Legions of Homers: Man, I fortold the future that Amare would be hurt, Some Asian cat would rise to power, and some skinny white guy would lead the league in 3pt%

Legions of Homers: The Dog, it spoke to me!

Nalod: Son of Sam?

Legions of Homers: They call me just Dave now.

If you weren't upset that he lost his gig in NY and had to turn in his bottles caps to Melo, then I wouldn't mind.

But same goes with Gallup and Lin, people took those transactions personal.

Reminds me of viewers who watch soap operas, they get deflated when the character they love is removed from the show, so they complain about the new character and promote another soap opera show (agenda).

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

A man looks in the mirror and sees his face.

The man walks away from the mirror. He then forgets what his face looks like.

A homer is really just one who chooses to not have a perspective on the many aspects that might surround a team and the competition.

See, words are so very important in a medium such as this.

A homer is actually someone who does have a perspective on the many aspects that surround both his team and the competition to said team: they are all equivalent to plain oatmeal with the occasional fresh strawberry stuck in it when compared to his team, which is equivalent to a steak and egg breakfast after a 40 day fast. That is a perspective. It might not be a perspective that lends itself easily to such perspectives as "I follow NY" and "I will follow anyone other than LA, Philly or Boston", but it is a perspective nonetheless.

The choice for a perspective is not what the question is here, or has been for thousands of thread pages.

Perspective is not loyalty. Longevity is not loyalty. Post count, for the love of god, is not loyalty. Admittance of suffering as exhibit A is not loyalty.

Loyalty.

Synonyms
fealty, devotion, constancy, loyalty, allegiance, fidelity all imply a sense of duty or of devoted attachment to something or someone. Loyalty connotes sentiment and the feeling of devotion that one holds for one's country, creed, family, friends, etc. Allegiance applies particularly to a citizen's duty to his or her country, or, by extension, one's obligation to support a party, cause, leader, etc. Fidelity implies unwavering devotion and allegiance to a person, principle, etc.

Antonyms
faithlessness.

It's very simple. I don't give two sheets if you gave birth to martin and andrew, built every circuit on every server and network that this board rests on, and are member #001. If you can exhibit the blase hateattitude when things are going well and have to restrain yourself from rooting against your own team, you deserve to have to read this kind of tripe about yourself.

If you can't stick with this team without preaching the postmodern gospel of self-hate and self-esteem over loyalty to the team, then you deserve meaningless diatribes like this and NYKMental's.

I'm a homer, and I approve this message.

And by the way, the true definition of a homer is someone who actually enjoys listening to Sterling call Yankee homers, and teaches his kids to say "Yankees win, thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh Yankeeeeeeeeeees WINNNNNNNNNN!!!

We need nothing less than a Nalod "I truly appreciate this team" thread.

Thanks to you in advance from myopic homerville.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away...

I'd like you to go ahead and find anything that says there are people rooting against this team. Just because some of us have concerns and worries about our long-term success doesn't mean we're hoping to see us lose.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Do I really need to have a "knick" belief system? So in some form I don't measure up as a fan to you?

No, I don' have a child like trust in how the team is run and believe like JVG that MVP talk prior to game 60 is a silly. I don't wear my KNick jersey to games. No I don't have to have a "faith" that our team will prevail.

"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me."

I like the games. YOu know you get to game 7 and we lose the champinship, IT will suck but win or lose the next day I get up and do my thing. No parade for nalod, no bonus check, nothing but a good feeling and remember it was a fun ride.

We don't accomplish anything when the team wins. We are fans, we are an audiance. We don't make trades. We can argue and pretend we matter but we don't have a say in how things are run.

Why not be more concerned with what your about then worry about me sitting on the fence not being an emotional basketcase every time my team "LOST A GAME WE SHOULD HAVE WON" or "FIRE THE 8TH COACH IN 11 YEARS AND PRAY DOLAN STARPHUCHS US AGAIN!".

I'm of the opinion that if you're posting on a website called "UltimateKnicks.com" with complete strangers that you gotta be pretty invested in the New York Knicks. Not saying live or die, or your turds won't flush in the toilet if they lose, just saying if you're posting from your desk, your office, your mobile phone, your tablet, you gotta be pretty invested fan-wise with the team.

Am I right?

Food for thought:

It has been said that we are a generation of complainers. That is what our parents have produced - whining, pouting, crying, complainers. Is it really any wonder then, that I should complain about all the complainers?

You find a baby crying because he is uncomfortable, and we say he is complaining. But a baby has no control over that - but we do. We have the ability to look positively at life, hold back our sobfuls of tears, and make the best of our situation. We have that ability. A baby, helpless, does not.
