The thing is this team has added some help at PF so that he won't have to wear himself out. That could be a huge help at the end of the year if we can keep his minutes down to a reasonable level.
I get upset with his awful D, but I also know that he can be dominant on the offensive end when we need him to help in the playoffs. We have the kind of roster that can help him be healthy in the playoffs and extend his career overall. Just too soon to be giving up on this guy.

Nixluva,

Do you think that Amare was a good signing?

Do those who don't want to trade Amare realize once he starts collecting DNPs we will be stuck with him until summer 2015.

Team needs to cut their losses. I'm not interested in Allan Houston 2.0.

How do you cut a guy owed 3yrs $60mil? His contract will still count against the cap. Unless you want to make room for John Shurna

You trade him for smaller trash pieces of trash.

Who in their right mind will take on that contract no matter how lobsided the trade is in their favor?

Those DNPs essentially start this week out to potentially December. I believe teams can start trading December 15th. No one will want to touch Amar'e until at least a full 1mo to 2mos of play if he can pull it off.

At the same time we need to keep a keen eye on trading Carmelo too assuming he doesn't have a no trade clause. Melo can opt out after next season is complete. Maybe contact Jordan and see if we can get their lottery pick this year.

Amare's injury isnt career ending yet. He will be DNP'D for 3yrs then join the Heat for the MLE and get his ring

I'd trade Melo only for a 2nd or 3rd year who had star potential plus a proven player and high draft picks.

Example Bynum and Evan Turner.

Hypothetical Melo trade.

Griffin and Deandre Jordan
For
Melo and Chandler

Lol. I'd do that deal.

I'd do it if I found out Blake and Jordan were actually 30yrs old.

That's because you would make a horrible GM and have a Marbury1Crossover-like agenda.

Pretty much. But we'd have Griffin in his prime after Amare expires.

I rather not see the Knicks tread water the next 2 yrs.

Reunite Melo with CP3 too.

Maybe. I just don't like him and we would have nobody to go to at crunch time.

Iman will have to be included with Amar'e in order to move him, I just can't see a place where.

The sad part about this, if we try and trade for an expiring(none I see a team agreeing to) we're still right at the cap, are not far enough under to renounce our exceptions.

You mentioned a Golden State trade before right?

Amare's deal is toxic sludge. 20 per with shaky knees. Shumpert is coming off an ACL injury.

Golden State needs a center. Chandler and Amare for Biedrens, Jefferson, and Bogut.

Golden State gets a front court rotation of Chandler, Amare, and Lee.

We get salary cap space in 2014.

Talk of trading Amar'e with Chandler is outrageous. Chandler's way too good and fairly priced to be doing that. STAT's pretty much not going anywhere so this is going to have to fit somehow. Now sure how unless Amar'e agrees to come off the bench.

How about Amare and Chandler for Dwight Howard?

or

Amare and Chandler for CP3?
