make no mistake, Lin was the best passing point guard we've had since Rod Strickland. He made his teammates better.

Lin set some records to be sure, including most turnovers in that stretch since before the NBA/ABA merger. You might want to ignore that part, but I don't.

Do you also want to ignore that part where the TOs he commits are the acceptable ones. His TOs are off him trying to get his team in the right spots and setting them up. No lazy passes. No ill-advised passes. I think Hubie made this remark in one of the telecasts and same with JVG.

Chris Paul averaged 2.45 TOs for his career and his worst year is 2.96
Deron William averaged 3.11 TOs for his career and his worst year is 3.98 and since 07/08 he has been around 3.5.
Jeremy Lin averaged 2.25 for his career and averaged 3.6 last year.

He is very comparable to ball dominant PGs.

Felton averaged 2.64 TOs for his career and his worst year was 3.26 in his first stint with the Knicks.

Im bringing up his time as a starter where he doubled those turnovers, the stretch that got him that contract. Of course his numbers will drop when you factor in the spot minutes before the streak. I don't remember anyone doing that with the rest of his stats. His numbers wouldnt look as spectacular.

There is no way you can convince me that causing more turnovers than anyone in that stretch than any PG in 40 years is acceptable. Lots of players were trying to do the exact same thing but weren't given the green light to do so. Thank MDA. It paid off in some games, I wont deny it, but is is acceptable? No. I doubt that few coaches would feel that way. Will he play like that this season? I doubt that he will be allowed to. Besides, its still early to compare the guys you mentioned to Lin. He might get there but he needs to do it for at least a season to be in the converstation. Dont believe that is unfair.

Very true but he did save our season so that outweighs it a little lol

Lin saved some games, the team saved the season.

im not a lin lover but i dont see the reason to criticize the guy. I play point guard so i like his skills

We will never agree on that point. I don't give any player a pass. Ive criticized everyone on this team to some degree. Some more than others. Ive also complemented every player on this team as well, even TD. I cant ignore something that a player is doing that I believe is wrong just because it might hurt someone's feelings. Not necessarily yours but some posters get wired up about any flaw being pointed out in "their" players game. I believe this is the most knowledgeable bunch of fans on the web. If the criticism isnt 100 percent lopsided towards one extreme they should be able to handle it.

Well first of all you're wrong because I NEVER gave him a pass. I am the most critical when it coes to lin. He needs to cut down on his turnovers and also shoot better from the outside. I think you misinterpreted me admiring his skills BUT also being critical of his weaknesses

I did misunderstand you Irish because you asked me why I was criticizing him. I pointed out something that Lin did well and why it was important. I get into this Lin/Melo stuff less than almost any poster on this board so when I get that reaction it does surprise me.

Irish no offense dude. You spend too much time thinking about what someone else is thinking about, about what you are thinking about. That shizz gets confusing

I was only pointing out why I said what I did Irish, I know you you were agreeing about the turnovers, just answering your question about why I critize Lin or any other player. You are right that you did point out what he needs to work on.

The problem with Irish is he waffles and flip flops in every post. He'll go from arguing with you to kissing your chicken nuggets in 0.5 seconds flat. He needs to pick a position and stick to it. There are no Independent or Libertarian parties here in UK. Pick Republican or Democrat dammit!

It's sad to think that we're probably going to get more Linanal-a-sys on this board than anything else as the season goes on...

Pre-season Houston game and we're getting highlights posted from a 3 point, 6 assist effort.

Hey how come no one posted videos of Toney Douglas 4 point 7 assist effort?

It might be his only highlight of the year lol.

I stopped reading at Lin-anal.

WHHHHHHAAAATTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

That would also describe Westbrooks 1st quarter pretty well.

I think the saddest part is somebody uploaded a 3pt 6 assist effort.

No the saddest part is people are breaking it down frame by frame and creaming all over it.

But the even more saddest part is nobody mentioned the result:

Rockets won. They got a preseason "Lin"........(for old times sake!)

Its just preseason so im sure nobody panicking over the loss in OKC but the Rockets won.

All wins are good.

W's and L's don't really matter. Preseason is about fine tuning and implementing, as well as, game speed for most teams. The really good teams just want to make it through without injury.

Jeremy Lin will stat pad and Houston will collect a high lottery pick.

Houston wins, Houston fans get someone to root for, and Jeremy Lin gets his money. No losers in that situation.

Its no indication of anything but a win is a win. I don't care who it is.

All wins matter. They like every other team is trying to build a culture that does not tolerate loss so you try to win.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.
