The PPG just means he takes a lot of shots. You should post the TS% or at least FG%.

Right, because outscoring someone by +10 pts per game is a meaningless statistic. As well as grabbing more rebounds. And getting more assists. Obviously, Stat is the better player. What was I thinking? I just knew all those years that Oakley was actually a better player than Ewing.

How about this, we can now call Melo Mr .125 for his Knicks playoff winning percentage? Despite the small sample size.

Melo will get a break when we he wins it's all. Ewing didn't get a break until he retired. Goes with the territory of being the MAN in NYC.

Eli used to get roasted and now is a 2 time SB MVP.

Won't go into A-Rod as he will never be fully embraced by the Yankee faithful.

No.. Melo isnt Marbs, not even close but after a decade of losing the blind love is gone. Gotta earn it and let me say its not that hard.

Also Amare is the best player. In 3 weeks you will be reminded why his teams have playoff success and Melo's havent. People here have incredibly short memories.

Knicks:
2010 -- Lost in 1st round to Boston, 4-0; Melo: 26.0 PPG 10.3 RPG 4.8 APG Stat: 14.5 PPG 7.8 RPG 1.8 APG
2011 -- Lost in 1st round to Miami, 4-1; Melo: 27.8 PPG 8.2 RPG 2.2 APG Stat: 15.3 PPG 6.5 RPG 0.8 APG

Short memories indeed.

can't make many excuses for amare, he is one of my favorite players, but he needs to do better in the playoffs.. his resume suggest that he can and should.. but lets keep it real, last year, the injured hand hurt him, he was shooting over 50% from the field, but he didn't rebound and defend and that is not excuse..

also no excuse is how you try to slip one by us posting these stats.. dude, carmelo shot 37% and 41% from the field.. the guy was a chucking nut!!! there is nothing great about his playoff performances here in NY, just stop it man..... those are horrible shooting percentages...

Unfortunately, Melo's and the Knicks success is all tied in with Felton. If Felton does not deliver then Melo will be vilified, fair or not.

Slip one by "us"? So are you still maintaining that Amare is the better player? If Amare shot 20% from the field but averaged 20 and 10, would he then be the suckhole douchebag you make Melo out to be?

What has no excuse is your seething hate for Melo. Seek counseling, really.

Actually, yes, that would be a disaster. He'd be taking like 50 shots a game and yielding us only 20 points in return.

Yes. Of course. Melo takes lots of shots. He's a pointless chucker. He's only gone to a Conf finals once. You win: he's a loser douchebag. Amare, who's been injured in both Knicks playoffs, is the better player, leader and all around good guy. Because he shoots a better percentage. Because that's what basketball is all about: shooting percentage. Forget points, rebounds, assists. That's why Artis Gilmore had all those rings.

And, like all of your "arguments", it's because you say so. Incredible, airtight argument.

neither Knick (Amare or Melo) has performed to expectations in the playoffs for one reason or another.

Here's the difference:

Knicks need Amare to be the player he's been in the past to sustain a deep playoff run, because thats what Amare's game translates to.

Knicks need Melo to NOT be the player he's been in the past because first round exits are what Melo's game translates to.

FG% means something. Go look at Melo's reg season vs playoffs. This is not hate, its simple strategy. The only place your riding a featured scorer who gives you 40% in the playoffs your going to be lucky to win a game or two, much less a series.

You have some points in there somewhere.

Just make sure Amare does not attempt any dunks on the layup line during the playoffs, and put tons of Police tape around the glass fire extinguishers areas come May!

Maybe assign Baron Davis as Amare's personal injury protecter.

WOW, how bipolar can this board become. This thread has become worse than the ****ing Lin thread. Bunch of fake ass Knick fans who only want to bitch and moan about the team. If you feel this way, then stop watching, watch another team or just bury your head in the damn sand but, please stop bitching like a bunch of little girls. Men shouldn't bitch and complain the way they do on this board.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

men can tell the difference between when it's raining and when someone is pizzing down their leg.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Yep, backed me right into a corner with those tremendous straw man arguments you have with yourself.

I like everything which is why I'm not one of the posters complaining about this team. My life is in perspective....its a damn sport for crying out loud and guys are getting their panties all in a bunch.

Be a fan and root for the guys that will be on the floor. If not, your just another hater and my man on Adult Swim says, pity the haters out there.
