Reguardless if thats true or not, that would mean taking PG duties away from Lin. So does that mean that MDA felt Lin was more of a combo guard?

No it means he wanted Melo out. They didn't mesh amd neither was changing.

So y out of the 5 positions he could trade Melo for Y would it be PG?

I think there was talk that D=Wil might be avaiable because he was not committing to resigning with NJ. I think that had more to do with the name that he suggested then anything else.

Yet bringing in Williams would have eatin Lin's mins and regulated him to the bench or more of off guard role. Y would you make that move if Lin is your PG.

Lin at sg would not have went well due to him being undersized and generally struggling on defense.

All in all, I am happy with the current roster and think the Knicks have generally done a good job rebuilding. Obviously, I would have loved to get a LeBron or Wade back in 2010 but the Knicks have a very solid roster now. This team is comparable to the Mavs team that won a title, imo (as in we have Kidd and Chandler, two players that can fill it up and a a few good three point shooters). It is up to the players and coaches to get the job done on the court.

He was talking about his talent, even mentioned the word talent and referenced his talent.

Honestly, I think Chandler is right when he say that the Knicks are better today (at the star of the season) with the addition of two experience veterans in Felton and Kidd, however, I don’t think the same would have hold true at the end of this season. Jeremy Lin was in three different teams at the start of last season, I don’t think he had the luxury of learning our system or his teamates and everything he did was basically his raw talent without true extended preparation.

With a year under his belt and Kidd as his mentor, I believe the Knicks would have being a better team with Lin instead of Felton at the end of this season and beyond. Considering that Lin still has four more years before reaching his prime and today’s NBA rules do favor this type of attacking point guards style, he and Shumpert would have being the better backcourt of the present and future.
Just my two cents.

What an ingrate, jerk Chandler is. Lest he forgot that his myopic PG Lin was the first PG in his career that kept chucking him the ball to the tune of a league high field goal % (68%), helping him toward his first all-NBA team berth (3rd team).

In addition, Lin's mediocre defense in part was responsible for making Chandler's defense look so good, winning him the DPOTY Award!

Not ready? Phewy.

If he used them simultaneously then it's encompassing the body of work of the whole player. He's pretty much calling him a Top 5 Player. You can be trivial here if you want but Kidd is front running just a tad. Part of playing his vet role I guess. I won't nail him too much here as we know he likes to go Grey Goose Harder than Duhon.
