Wallace basically extended for three years. He had an opt in for next year at 9.4mil.

He gets 10.

I suppose if he sucks in two years its a bad move. If your trying to win now is there a better player at the 6 spot that can:
Start at the 3. Give some confidence to Deron the team won't suck.

They resigned Deron. They stole JJ cuz they willing to spend.

So basically if you have to over pay the back end of Geralds contract to get this done it may be worth it.

Lando got his last year at nearly the same amount Gerald is getting.

New ORlando GM is stupid? Why? Guy is trying to get his best deal.

They play 41 home games. Houstan comes in once, maybe nets come in 2x. And its a guaranteed sell out!

They survived Shaq leaving for nothing. They will survive this.

I stopped laughing at other GM's a long time ago.

Knicks have been a joke for the better part of 10 years and deserved all the laughing at we deserved.

There is no redemption cuz nobody really cares when other teams eventually succeed.

Laugh at Riles when they won only 15 games? Khan for drafting and keeping Rubio? Nets for moving to brooklyn?

Wallace is overpaid but I don't think it's the kind of unprecedented disaster many are making it out to be. The average NBA player makes $5 mil a season and Wallace is above average. He should be making about 6 to $7 mil rather than $10 mil.

usually teams in the hunt for guys like Lebron & Howard dump vets like Gerald Wallace not sign them to long term deals. Even at a $1

I think deron liked playing with Wallace and he was resigned to entice him to come back.

Not sure i want Howard anymore. If Orlando is shunning the nets this badly let them go and see what they can get from other teams. I think the nets should tell them to get lost and sign lopez and humphries. Lopez was out last season because of injury but his previous 2 seasons he played every game and average 20ppg and 7.5 rebounds. He also has a more polished offensive game then Howard. Dwight relies on his athleticism and is coming off of back surgery. I would love to have him but Orlando is screwing around way to much. The nets actually have a nice package here.

I dont see why a team doesnt rent him. Dwight says he will only resign in Broolkyn but guess what Dhead U can go there for the 3 mil exception then because they wont have cap room. Dude will stay where ever he gets traded. U still hold his bird rights u can get some of your assets back from trading him then. For a team that cant lure stars it seems like worth the risk to me

And all the bad contracts the Nets would have to take on from Orlando.

If the Nets held on to the 6th pick Dwight would be a Net. Either sent the 6th pick to Orlando or packaged with Hump to another team like Cleveland/Charlotte.

Sorry Billy, Deron or whoever

Lakers will be elite with or without Howard because they have Bynum. Anywhere but Brooklyn is fine with me

agreed, I don't have a problem with him going to BKLYN if The Nets actually had an attractive offer for Orlando, but they do not, their 1st round picks would be worth nothing, like multiple early 2nd round picks. They are guaranteed to be low picks, So I don't think it benefits Orlando by trading him to Nets.

I hope Houston gets Dwight Howard and he sits out the whole next year, with "back problems", the way Morry constantly screws around with the Knick's and the rest of the league.
Karma is a B***

I know Dirk has a one of the rare "no trade clause left in the league"
but I think Bynum for Dirk would work well with Nash, would fit with Nash, and would be fun to watch.

Bynum and combination of Blake, Sessions, Hill for Dirk and filler *some of the players that they just drafted*
maybe add Haywood in there for MWP, Haywood is still a decent backup center, and has a TEAM option on his final year.

Lakers
-----------

Nash
Kobe
_____
Dirk
Gasol

McRoberts
Devin Ebanks
Darius Morris
Andrew Goudelock
DJO

Christian Eyenga
Robert Sacre
Metta World Piece *amnesty target*

Magic are getting to the point where there will be public pressure to trade him somewhere other than the Nets:

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider
If Magic want best player? Lakers best partner. Best package of players? Hawks. Want to blow it up? Rockets. None of the above? Nets

That would be first choice. Brooklyn second choice. The other 28 teams are tied after that.

Seriously, the Nets package for Dwight looks like the crappy trade ideas fans come up with to get Kobe on their team or something. (I'm certainly guilty of this.)

Howard will only sign extension if he gets traded to Nets. No team is stupid enough to give up really good assets for a one year rental.
