Like i said i love shump buts its almost as if people forget that shump was injured a lot thid year and next year he may be out the whole year so i guess we are supposed to waste a year?

Actually he is slated to be back in Feb...That,s half the season..He is young, so who knows could be sooner...What's important is can he play in May and June???..Knicks are doing anywhere without defense..

I doubt he will be back to normal after missing 9-10 months. I've known a lot of atheletes who have unfortunetly had ACL tears and it took them a long time and even then they were never back to normal. Im tired of losing or being out in teh first round we have to go for it

I can't believe this. We're going to make a panic trade because the Nets might be a .500 team now; in this panic trade we're going to give up one of the only shut-down defensive wings in the NBA for a 38-year old former MVP who plays no defense. And people here are falling over themselves to defend it.

I forgot did shump suddently get healthy? I mean the 2012-2013 season shump is a non factor anyway. Its actually a risk for the suns because who knows if he will be the same anyway

It's not just about next year, for all the talk about "2-year windows" the team as currently constructed should be able to compete for the next 4-5 years at least.

Clearly having an outstanding offense is more important than being undersized by 2 inches at one position on defense, no?

We're going to base what our offense could be based off of the **** show last season? We had no training camp to massage Tyson into the offense, no pg for half the season, and then Melo quit on MDA. And we still finished with our best record in over a decade.

I have a lot more confidence in finding a perimeter defender than a two-time MVP. I also have confidence in that dude we have patrolling the paint.

I have no confidence that we can replace what Shumpert does and Tyson is only one guy, he can't do it alone.

Well all we do know is that he played last year in a lockout-shortened season and led the league in assists on a crap team. That's worth a little bit, right?

The fact is, Rose is out for potentially the entire year next year, the Celtics are only marginally better and Wade kind of looks like he's breaking down. Need to strike while the iron's hot.

Hell, I agree. Offer Nash the MLE and tell him play with us or win 30 games a year in Toronto. Boston was still better than us last year and even though Wade is breaking down we don't have anyone who could stop Chalmers let alone Wade.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

He can actually have a longer career than the window you are fitting him into...With the back courts in the East, we will just get killed on the perimeter...It will be fun watching Chandler play defense alone...We might have Nash for a year or two if lucky and watch Shump play elsewhere for the next 15 years...I'm seen this movie before...

Would this also mean, Lin asks to be traded or let go? He won't srart with Nash here and the market is showing they value him enough to fetch $10M per.

Might as well bring back Dantoni since we will be the worst defensive team with naah & amare

A Guy who played 25+ games asks to be traded. That's bold.

Tyson will help the defense. I'd really like to make sure Jeffries comes back, too. JR Smith is a good defender, too. Hoping all these dudes are back. Melo can defend when motivated, hopefully he realizes this team has a 2yr window and plays his hardest.

A guy has the right to choose where he goes to work as long as the other side is willing to hire him. It's not like we drafted Lin.

As long as we get the Phoenix medical staff included in that S&T deal with Nash, I'd be happy. But please keep shump. I think Nash wants to come here, so ****in come here Steve. And can we for one time's sake just stick to our cards and not throw away whoever the other team is asking for.

I know how much defense means, but lets look at the big picture. Are you tired of seeing melo ball, do you want Amare to return to form, the ally opps to chandler, ernie has proven that he could find good talent for cheap to fill out the roster.

With woodson as our head coach, i still think we defend adequately enough (without shump)to be respectable. Looking at our front court, it's imperative to get a tru floor genral to distibute the ball. Nash a 53% fg shooter, and 40% from downtown 11 ast and a suspect defender, thats 3 positives and 1 negative, last i check, if the pro's are more then then cons, you go with it..

Way too many Knick fans are not seeing this is a WIN NOW TEAM!!!! If you can add a player that makes EVERYONE better and has tons of experience then you have to do it. I hate losing Shump but this is not a rebuilding young team! Nash, Lin, Melo, STAT n Tyson is a title ready lineup!!! Then we still have the ability to add more using MLE, LLE... This is a no brainer!!!!

We must get more out of what we have and that's what Nash does best.
