Shmups ACL makes him tradable i think. If that didn't happen I would agree but no guarantee he is the same ever again. Id do the trade but I just don't see a reason for the Suns to do it at all

This happens if the Knicks sign and trade Jeremy Lin to Phoenix......the window is 2 years with Nash's age and the contract length of melo and stat

Do you feel lucky punk? Do you pull the trigger and put your nuts on the drumbset?

Is it really a big deal turning down 2 mill to go to a winning team?

In the last DECADE, the 2 clubs have has similar win %'s.
Toronto went the playoff twice and lost in first round both times (3 total wins)
We've been 3 times and you know the deal (1 win... total)

We are winning now, but...

@irishknick...its not just that i dont think nash will come...but its more like im sick and tired of the hysteria that ESPN and other media outlets are creating in order to generate pub...we all know theres NO way hes coming...but they keep giving fans "hope"...knicks can only offer 3-5 mil max...yet toronto and other teams will offer more...on top of that LIN is here...i just think its next to impossible and i refuse to believe the hype that hell be here...im into being very realistic...im not gonna dream about ray allen, nash or who ever is out there if i know we only have 3-5 mil to spend
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

If this actually went down it would be huge but why would PHX take Fields who sucks for Nash who is awesome? Makes no sense but if they want to be stupid I'll take it.

I still don't see this happening.

Nash may wait until Deron commits to a team. He might even get a higher offer from Dallas or NJ if they miss out on D-Will.

The Knicks already used their amnesty on Chauncey Billups a year ago and can't create cap room to sign Nash. In fact, New York almost certainly will be in the tax after re-signing Jeremy Lin, Steve Novak and J.R. Smith, which means Nash almost certainly would have to take the Knicks' taxpayer midlevel exception, which would start at $3.09 million. He'd be taking about $10 million a year less than his market value, give or take, while playing the same position as Lin, a marketing cash cow. Move along, people, nothing to see here."

This was probably written about a week ago before anyone took the time to investigate sign and trade scenarios.

We have *very* few trade assets. Shumpert and Fields basically.

I think the Knicks would include the max in cash, 3 mil?, to get a sign and trade done with Phoenix. However, even with that the Knicks can't compete with the Toronto offer.

You are right. In this scenario Phoenix would be doing Nash a favor while adding a player they like in Fields. The only other player that Phoenix would be committed to financially would be Toney Douglas, but the Knicks would also include 3M cash which would pay for TD with 1M to spare.

Because Nash might leave anyway. If Nash leaves and Phoenix covets Fields at least a little, why not facilitate a sign and trade to the Knicks? Both parties would be helped.

Thats right, i think some people dont realize that a sign and trade is different than an actual trade

Camby is the man. I'd love him back.
