i wouldn't be surprised if SVG never coaches in the NBA again.

Oh he won't be coaching, again. Very unlikely in my opinion.

And I hate it when I am around men and we're talking or discussing something and one of the men goes and runs his mouth like a gossiping woman. in your scenario you say "be a man and come talk to me," but then why are you "talking behind closed doors"? why are you gossiping behind someone's back if you think it's more manly to confront someone face to face? am i understanding this wrong?

Yea, like Howard went to SVG to hash it out instead of going to management. Oh, wait...

lol. no. howard's a real man for going over to SVG and putting his arm around him like they boys when in reality he can't stand the guy.

In my scenario, I am talking DIRECTLY TO the person. There is NO gossiping in my scenario AT ALL. Howard's meeting was with Management. Apparently during the meeting he MAY HAVE said that he'd welcome a coaching change. Not rare at all. A snitch from that meeting went back and told SVG. Then SVG, the snitch, went and told the media. No one talking directly to one another. Straight b*****es!

Actually, I took that as a gesture to say "Let's put this to rest and focus on moving forward to the playoffs". I took that as a gesture to try and show solidarity EVEN IF you don't like one another. There are still games to be played.

As a matter of fact, how does SVG going public help the team, the organization or even himself? How does this put THE TEAM in a good situation going into the playoffs? Does he have an issue with Turk? Jameer? We know he and Glen Davis don't get alone (no surprise there). Does he have an issue with Richardson? He still has some coaching to do. If he doesn't want to be there, RESIGN! Do a Mike D'Antoni. Going to the media dones nothing for anyone. Just like Howard tanking on the court, this man is also throwing stones as well. Shooting themselves in the foot. Problem is, Howard will have plenty of opportunities to try and contend for a title. SVG is done! He should have been a lot wiser. Two str8 b*****es!

Ok let explain this like you are 6. I said "If I am talking to some men and we are behind closed doors......". Got that? Ok, now I said "If one of those guys....." is the type to have his feelings hurt about what was said, he MAY go and start bad mouthing me to other people. People who have nothing to do with it. People who were not there. This is why I said it's like the person then "going on Facebook" to talk about what I said behind closed doors. He can just come to ME. Not other people (media in SVG's case).

The point is, between the management source going to SVG and SVG going to the media, no one's dealing with it directly with one another. I don't care for those types. And he's that.

and regarding your analogy. it's not really the same. SVG was asked by the media if the story was true. it's not like he addressed the media about it unprovoked.

i agree that if he cared about the organization he would have kept his mouth shut. but he doesn't give a damn. and that produced one of the most awkwardly awesome NBA moments of all time so i applaud him.

you might think he's a ***** for doing it, but really it's not like he didn't think Dwight would hear about it. he seemed pretty comfortable talking about everything in the open. being direct and honest. Dwight was the one that got all uncomfortable and douchey when the truth was out there. to me, that makes Dwight look like a *****.

But he still works there. So it's ok for a coach to quit on a team but not a player? Stan still is getting paid to coach and motivate. He has now quit on the team...clearly. Two b****es quitting on a team.

Again, how does it help his TEAM now that ME AND YOU are talking about it? And it's only because HE said it.

He actually said he knew ALL SEASON! So here's my question to you since you are one of the ones who feel SVG is of such high character. If he is "telling the truth" and being "direct and honest" about it, but he knew all season, was he lying earlier in the season when asked these questions? Where was this open "honesty" then? Let's go with YOUR "direct" and "honest" thing......when asked about D Howard all season, was he LYING? Again, he knew this info all season. And do you applaud his lying all season if that's the case? If he says "I can't take B.S." What was he feeding media all season previously then? Based on the fact that he knew at least since DECEMBER.......was he too B.S'ing? Weren't they ALL B.S'ing? And since when is SVG not "one of them"? He's just the odd man out now and he doesn't like it. So he's throwing a tantrum....when he KNOWS all season he has been just as much of a B.S.'er as them.

Like I said, there is enough blame to go around.

Yes there is enough blame to go around. But this is like comparing two completely different situations. SVG has quit on the team but the team and the star player both QUIT ON HIM, way before he did any quitting.
On the other hand the so called face of the franchise is asking his own fans to root for the away team in a shameless display of "my ego is more important than anything you piss poor fans care about". Let's not compare the two like they were similar situations.

Ok, so it's cool for a coach to quit on a team...but only AFTER the team quits on him. Got it! So is that vice versa too? If a team doesn't feel that a coach is doing the best job that he can, they can quit as well? So it's not the fact that either one is quitting LIKE A B***h.....it's about who quits first and who quits second. Riiiggghht. Got it.

Seriously you need to read. I didn't say it was OK for anyone to quit on their job. I said the two situations are different. One person is completely and entirely done with the organization the other pretends to be it's heart and soul.

No need for stupid sarcastic comments.

Nah. All three parties are IN. No one is done at this point. If SVG is "done" with the organization, why has he not resigned? MDA did it. SVG is not "done". He's just an emotionally scorned guy that ran to the press to spew his beef. He is still working for them. He he said (just last night) that his main concern is stopping Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks. If he is "done" as you say, then he is ALSO pretending. He is still working for them. All three parties are still under contract. SVG could have easily walked out. But he hasn't. So your statement is untrue. As a matter of fact he said "If they fire me......". This means he is STILL not prepared to resigned and be "done". They're ALL in. So his behavior is not excused. The "done" thing does not create a loophole for him to be unprofessional. I am not an MDA fan but at least he walked out in a way that kept his rep in tact (whether that's a positive rep or negative that's up for discussion).

My first post on thsi thread was SVG should walk immediately. I am not saying SVG is blameless here, in fact I agree with you that he didn't handle the situation very well. I just think what DH is doing deserves a lot more wrath than a coach who is clearly on his last days with the team.

He should walk ...if they cover his salary and come to a mutual agreement. Otherwise it looks very bad for SVG to get another job and he loses a lot of money this year.

He is still working for them. if SVG quits, he forfeits any money owed to him under his contract. it was easy for MDA to quit because he was in his last year and wasn't forfeiting much.

wow. SVG to media today: "I know Dwight wanted me fired." Potential Ewing coaching debut tonight?
