Players don't get that many chances and last second shots. 50ish for Melo is great for anyone.
What is the deal with sample size? Are you guys being sarcastic? I don't get it, but it's like on every thread. 45 shots in itself is a small sample to draw any conclusion from. But it does show that Melo is more consistent than others given the limited sample size. It's an indication of a trend but doesn't prove anything IMO.
As of a year ago, he has had 45 last second shots to tie or take the lead in a game. It's got to be many more by now. Is a player not judged how he performs in the clutch? 50-60 last second shots in the clutch? How many players have that? You don't get that many moments like that and when he gets them, he shines. A college player can hit a few clutch shots in a tournament and skyrocket in the draft. That's because it infers his clutchness. Same in the NBA.
