here are his 3P shooting numbers the last 5 seasons:

39.0%
40.3%
39.7%
33.8%
39.0%

In that GIF he single handedly won that WCF game against the soon-to-be champions.

He also had a true shooting percentage above 55 percent last year, which was above the league average for shooting guards. That's pretty good considering the volume of shots he takes. He would elevate bench scoring the money he put on a Knicks uniform. On the other hand, if you guys thought Nate was a knucklehead.....

I'm ok with waiting for Smith til March. With Davis back everyone is going to get easier shots hopefully Shumpert picks up his shooting now that he doesn't have to worry about getting others involved

Actually by all accounts last year they were a top 10 team going into the playoffs they just faced their worst matchup possible. The same can be said of the Spurs. Melo has lost in the first round 8/9 years, including the year after their conference finals run.

Since when is a career average of 12.5pts on 43% something you make an exception to a bad behavior. He's not a fringe star, he's not an AllStar he has a problem with every coach he has ever played for and isn't a strong defender.

We have Baron coming back, a top 4 center by all accounts, according to the fan base two supertars. Why would add someone to the mix that plays one on one basketball, has an attitude and doesn't play defense. That's going to put us over the top.

I'll use your argument against you and say most of the playoff loses the Nuggs suffered with Melo was bad matchups in terms of the Nuggs were usually the higher seed. They lost to the Spurs and the Lakers twice (total of 4 playoff loses) and with the exception of Utah, I believe they were the higher seed every year and did not have homecourt advantage.

As far as Smith is concerned, I'm not arguing that point. Smith is super talented, and is 2 times better than anything we have at the 2. We certainly need an upgrade there, however, I wouldn't touch him either. He's from Jersey and bringing him home might not be a good idea.

Nothing To Lose

MS - the Knicks are at the bottom of the NBA rankings in both assists and shooting percentage.

Baron has yet to compete in a full contact practice, Tyson Chander is underutilized, Amar'e admits he is struggling to adapt to not being spoiled with easy baskets, Carmelo thinks he is the only one who can be trusted to score, Iman Shumpert is learning by trial and error, Toney Douglas is a vacuum - he sucks away any harmony by thinking about his shot, Josh Harrellson is a step down from Mozgov and Landry Fields misses Ray Felton more than anything.

Other than that, we straight.

When Melo has had homecourt advantage in playoff series, he is 2-1. Call him a choker all you want but when you play a contender every year in the first round, your playoff hopes are grim.

In the year after his WCF appearance, the Nuggets were bombarded by injuries(despite being the second seed most of the year). The most striking injury was our head coach going down with cancer the rest of the damn season.

he's been a bench player wherever he went. he did start for the Nuggets back at the beginning of 2006. For two months he was averaging 20 ppg with Melo averaging 31/6/4. Then we traded for AI which set their development back and destroyed our chemistry.

it's not as if it's a long term commitment. my goodness. he is an elite shooter. he can generate his own offense as well as playing off the ball. you are kidding yourself if you think this team does a damn thing in the postseason the way it's currently constructed, even with BD. the game slows down and the from Game 1 teams will pack the paint and force us to shoot. do you want to be swept again?

that is where the shooting must improve from Amare shump melo Davis TD. I expect all of them to find their shot. They are not bad shooters. Just in a total team funk right now. If we sign Smith down the road then all the better

misteryearl may be stupid, but he makes a valid point.

We all miss the Moz.

And he would probably run the PnR better then the People's Republic Enemy Number 2

I sure hope so. But from my experience the postseason exposes "pretend" shooters from the real shooters, if you catch my drift. That's why we had Landry go 0-4 from deep last year and Walker 3-11.

And Shumpert is not an outside threat by any means. He hits a few like one every five games. The Magic were leaving Shumpert wide open to double Melo from the start of the last game.

we're waiting to see if Diaw gets amnestied first

that would be and Isiah move, sign a scrub just because he plays well against New York.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
