i think he is a project that is missing some physical size/skill to adjust in the NBA, that Warriors never really wanted to let go off.
They kept him in that long, because he shows that he is good at certain things, however, with their 2nd round picks, Jenkins, and their rest of their roster, Lin probably wont
get to play.
I hope Briggs, come back more, know he felt like we made the wrong move with Melo, however, the amnestied came back to save us.
Or possibly haunt us, if Amare or Melo also go down. Know Lin was one of the many prospects he liked that year and I hope he comes back to share more of his 2 cents with
us. It looks more and more like NBA GM's/scouts or w/e, including the Knicks and Dallas, read our boards.
Dallas has grabbed Sean Williams, Brandon Wright, Fesenko, Carter, and West, as some of us, have pointed out.
I think many of us 4get that the amnesty clause saved our butts, this year, as Dolans pockets helped too. We gave up a lot in the Melo trade and it was a horrible move that the Amnesty Clause allowed us to get Tyson Chandler. Personally, I would prefer our old team over what we gave up for Melo, keeping the Amnesty, and all the assets, possibly being
in this Cp3/Deron Sweepstakes, and having the cap room/assets to use. Kris Humphries looks like he is going to have a great year and that 1 year deal he got will pay out for him next year. He is undersized, however, he hustles a lot, and is a double double machine. As great as Melo has been playing, a pure PG would allow us to take great shots, and control the tempo. Baron Davis is going to be the key, another amnesty that saved us. However, is he going to be a 1/2 year rental or part of our future?
Without the Melo trade, I believe we were still deep enough to compete last year and would have the depth this year as well. We also would be able to sign a FA this year.
I think the current team is better than our old team, but the old team plays the system better, and team basketball. The addition of a quality center with FA with the cap room, would allow us us to improve our defense, which is all we really needed. I am happy with the current team, with the additions of Tyson Chandler and Baron Davis, but to give credit to the Melo trade to allow us to get to where we are today is really misleading. It has a lot more to due with the amnesty clause and a couple of things fell our way.
We all see the production of Amare is slipping and Melo with Amare isn't meshing together as great as they sound. Once Baron Davis comes back, we are going to see if he is the missing key to the production of a pick n roll PG, if he is healthy. The way we won the Celtics game and fell behind, is a sign that our team right now, isn't as great as we think it is. It will take some time. We needed a great effort by Melo and Amare, to go with TD having a pretty good game, to barely win the game. There were a lot of questionable shots
the team took and hit, but weren't quality shots. I think we still need a few quality role players for depth. Most importantly, we need someone that could penetrate consistently.
I watched the Wolves game yesterday, Barea, is a pretty solid defender. He stays in front of his man and does some acting for push offs, that many NBA players do, for chargees/offensive foul. He also allows great penetration, while great things happen, while the defense greats broken down.
I think the Wolves, played a tough team and was actually up most of the game, in the Thunder, and they won't be nearly as bad as they have been in their past. The shortened seasons, benefits team like theirs, allows their young legs, depth, athleticism, and mainly same team with more experience this year together. The roles of Rubio, Barea, and Derrick, Williams are very clear and go great with their team. Once Nikola Pekovic and Brad Miller can contribute, they will be even deeper. I think their 1st round pick this year can range this year, and Eric Gordon will be the best asset New Orleans actually gained from the Cp3 trade.
