Well, this sucks. It's a good thing we wasted all that time on Crawful. Let's hope we can sign a forward somewhere so that we don't end up watching 30min/game of JJ.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Despite verbal to Nets on 2 year, $6M deal, Knicks haven't stopped recruiting Shawne Williams, sources say. Border war coming to life again.

if the Knicks get Shawne Williams to rescind his verbal acceptance of the Nets offer, it will be hilarious...

Wow. Well, I guess it's not tampering until there's a contract. I agree, that would be ****ing hilarious!
Now I'm hoping we bring Shawne back more out of spite than for basketball reasons.

I would much rather have Shawne back then those guys.
Only player I would probably have that is still available as a free agent is Ak47, in which I don't know if he would be enough to land him.
He will be 32 in Feb. but love what he does and his ability to play Amare or Melo's position when they need a rest.

I would have also rather have Peja vs Redd.
Redd hasn't really played for 3 years or more without getting hurt.
While Peja showed he still got game, when playing for Dallas...

When I saw Peja play on Dallas, not only could he still shoot, but he knows how to use his size and length to his advantage on both ends.
While, I wouldn't call him a great defender, he can spread the floor, he does have a high basketball IQ, and he could play at high production levels IN LIMITED MINUTES!

I wish Shawne would realise that D'Antoni's system makes players look better than they are- if he signs with us one more year and becomes a FA he can get a better contract as a productive bench player than if he plays with the crappy Nets for 2 years and gets exposed as a poor starter.

Boozer did it to Cleveland, hey, I would love Shawnee back, why go to a rebuilding team while we are contending and u know the system?
On top of it, we would have his full bird rights if he signed for 2 seasons, and early bird rights if he opted out at 1.

I think he did it out of spite, being hurt, rejected, and angry at Knicks management at the spur of the moment.
Nothing is official yet, so with the above reasons, I still see Shawne as an option, I hope over those aged vets on top...

I want Shawne back because I like him. He brings a good energy to the team and is still young and developing. He broke out of his bad ways and has shown a lot of maturity. I want him to stay that way, so Shawne, stay on the Knicks. Newark is crime-ridden.

Ron, what Boozer did to cleveland was really messed up.

They released him a year early so they could sign him to a better deal even though they did not have to. It was a 30 million dollar contract.

His agent was negotiationg with Utah for a contract double that.

Thats a lot of money and IM not saying you leave 30mil on the table, but Cleveland was really taking care of him recognizing as a second round pick and he worked his ass off.

It can also be looked at that they tried to undercut his true market value and if they paid him his worth then perhaps they would have stayed.

Its an interesting case.

He was a good asset that we need.

If he was promised Starter minutes with Nets its a chance to really show himself than be a role player.

Can't blame him for that.

He made good here and outplayed his contract last year. He does not owe us anything but his graditute which Im pretty sure he has expressed.

i wish Shawne the best. as he showed here in the playoffs though - he is NOT a starter and can't create his own shots. Deron will get him some open looks for sure, but he got open looks in NY because of the system. for a player who has never done well anywhere else in the league and then comes in and has a good run in a very specific system, i'm kind of surprised he left.

but i definitely understand the money side of it. a million bucks is a lot of money.

i hope he does well, when he's not playing the Knicks.

he is 24, show although, Walsh gave him the first opportunity to revive his career here, he produced for us and waited a good while for us to offer a serious deal.

He is an opportunity to play with Deron Williams and become a starter, while he will be limited as a Knick.
With a possibility of returning to New York on a different team, with Deron and Dwight, that could be very big for him...

I am pretty sure he waited patiently and giving hints to the Knicks, he was getting annoyed/impatient, b4 he decided to go across the Hudson.
He thought he contributed last year and thought he deserved a little more than the way he got treated. Also being offered a 1 year min deal, while waiting for Crawford, while
it was looking apparent, that he wasn't coming for that price.

I don't think the Knicks really wanted to pay him the 2.5m, hoping he would come for the vet min, so they can offer him a better contract with Early Bird Rights...
I don't think he is better than 7th man role, but if playing with Deron and Dwight, things can change....

Wish he would return instead however, I wouldn't be against him doing whats best for his future.
In a slightly similar situation about year and more back...
Ariza took this route, leaving the Lakers, trying for an opportunity to carry more of the workload in Houston.
I think he was missed by the Lakers last year, he does a lot of the intangibles, with Odom, carrying the 2nd unit together and playing starting roles/minutes at times and /2nd unit on others.
He felt it was a slap in the face, when the Lakers, were recruiting Artest, and wouldn't offer him anything more than what the MLE could with another team...

I would love for him to return to take Wiliams role, if he is indeed gone.
According to the reports on Cp3 and Knicks deal, we were offering a future 1st rounder, I hope it will be enough if New Orleans does decide to go the route
of full blown rebuilding, looking to rebuild through the this draft, and unload salary...

I agree, that is messed up. But players and owners both can do the #$!ing in this league. It's never good to be on the bad side of things, in the end its a business
not Church. Ethics aren't are rarely practiced when millions are involved....

Which is why I actually respected Walsh, I believe he was generally a man of his word.
Don't think he would have shipped out Felton, doing him wrong...

I still hope he comes back. I understand if he doesn't. We are quick to justify the way Knicks treated him saying its a business. Then what he did is business too, he don't owe is jack. But I hope he comes back I had started to relate to him.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

He may not feel confident that his career will pan out, so that $1mil may be VERY important to him long term. He can't bank on having a long career, so he wants to protect his principal for the time being. Still, getting a chip with us would have been the shizzit. Too bad he won't get that chance.

Wish we had someone else to back up the 4 besides Fishlips and Jorts. Wish we had some way to get Ill Wil back.

that 1 million isn't that much? I believe if the Knicks make playoffs, advance, eastern conf finals, finals, and champs, there are bonus and incentives.
he just will get the shot of being a starter and we can't give him that, in fact he is closer to a SF and can't actually play SG or PF.
So he will be limited here, on his opportunity to improve, unless there is an injury....

2 Main Factors

1) If he can improve, bolster his stats, and become a legit starter for his next contract.

2) Will Dwight Howard come, or will Deron leave? It is likely a chain reaction at this point. With a PG like Deron and Center like Dwight, and the opportunity to start!
Again, I don't think its about the 1 million, but a chance to start next to those 2 all stars, that can help his game! Don't 4get he is only 24, he has probably less than
8years to get a big contract before he most likely will go down drastically...

Y'all really thinking a million is like nothing.

Its more than he made last year.

Its 20%

Its a good career move.

He was coming but the Nets made him an offer he could not refuse.

And he could start.

Or, he could be a smaller part of something bigger in NY for less money?

I hope he does not end up sitting in ORlando as part of a Dwight trade.
