I think Carmelo got out of Denver pretty much intact! Karl is a wonderful sarcastic prick.

Im sure there are lots of elements of truth to it. No big deal, as long as he plays defense when he has to.

...And the "when he has to" will be determined by...?

Another thing said in one of the interviews with Karl was that he, Billups, and Melo were basically formulating the offense for the Nuggets. Anybody pick that up too? He was hinting at the fact that he was going to have a lot to do (on his own) to re-sync his offense.

I kinda took it as he did not have complete control of the offense and that it was more of a democracy between him, Melo and Billups. Now he is saying that everyone will have to do what he says or they sit the bench because he has another set of players waiting in the bench.

That's how I understood it, Bocker. I got a sense that he was relieved to be rid of the lazy Carmelo.

Which doesn't bode well for the Knicks future.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Melo was never a defensive stallworth. That is why I think his superstar level is in the Bernard King, Dominique Wilkins, Kevin McHale level. He is very very good but he has some warts in his game. Melo is a dynamic scorer and a terrific rebounder. Strong as an ox and not afraid to take the tough shots. I am happy we have him. Just wished we did not have to give Gallo and Timo away.

I went to sleep on the game but Boston looked like they lost their best friend last nite.

MDA has to protect Amare from the duel Dictatorship of BillMElo and has a bit of leverage.

Carmelo wanted to come here. I would have to think that MDA still carries some juice from the olympic days on his offensive scheme. Melo has to buy into this. I don't know of Melo's work ethic or how bad he really wants to win. Not much in his pro career has demonstrated a very high level of commitment. He was a punk before Billups got into his head.

Billups at 35 has demonstrated a high level of court leadership, championship caliber play, and at his age is living proof that taking care of yourself matters.

Amare has improved his game the last few years and has earned his status.

I hope Melo can follow these guys and get better and better.

The best part of that game was when KMart threw Garnett down hard and KG like the ***** that he is did not do anything until everybody came over to try to stop. Classic.

funny to me that Gallo, Felton, Chandler all got more minutes than Harrington. Didn't watch game but all 3 fit better on that team.

I bet Harrington not liking it. Chandler and Gallo will get all his minutes.

i'm so glad we didn't have to take back Al Harrington in the Melo trade. I hate that dude. it's horrible when your big free agent signing from the previous summer immediately becomes your least trade-able contract.

Coach Karl had two line up last night. Gallo on 1st unit and Felton/Chandler on 2nd unit with Al. The second unit seemed out of synch for the most part but played better defense and more controlled leadership with Felt at point. The 1st unit was also out of synch and was having problem scoring early. Ty was missing a lot of his shots but he and felt held rondo in check. Karl wanted them to go play fast and defend having player flexibility. I thought felton played the leadership role to where he was even playing same time with Ty. Gallo played hard defense on Pierce, Ray and Baby but had a hard time getting sinking his shots with the dunk only his points. Chandler was solid on the 2nd unit with Ray and JR. KMart closed the game out to finish the Celts. The team has a lot of above average talent just lack the superstar on close games.
