Curry/AZ/Walker go out

KMart's contract expires after the year, Balkman has a longer deal but only makes $1.65 mil per.

i would definitely consider trading for KMart to shore up our bench... i'd make that deal u proposed in a heartbeat... dunno if DEN would tho when all they'd be getting out of the deal is Bill Walker.

KMart has only played in 7 games this year because he is hurt. Forget him. Go for Carl Landry..... or Dalembert if he isn't hurt. Dalembert hasn't played much recently and had injured his leg, I think, earlier.

The problem is that until the Melo situation is settled, we won't/can't make another deal because we need all of our players/assets for the Mello trade.

his contract is expiring so what do u have to lose? Curry's expiring? he's not giving us anything anyway... Bill Walker is definitely not an essential part of our rotation either, i'd easily give him up to see what KMart can give us... if he doesn't work out, it's nothing lost & his contract comes off the books at year's end... tell u the truth he's probably a lot more tradeable as an expiring contract than Curry is also, so u might gain a better asset in that regard.

but ur right, obviously nothing will get done until the Melo situation is settled.

Do you think Sac would make that same trade for Dalembert since they have not been playing him, he is discontented, and they are in last place in the West?
Dalembert($12.2 mil expiring) for Curry($11.2 mil) + Bill Walker ($854,000)? and we add a 2nd round pick?
(KMart = $16.5 mil expiring.)

I bet they'd be more interested in TD in SacTown than Billy Walker.

They need another combo guard to pair with Tyreke.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

personally i doubt Bill Walker would be an enticing piece for any team to make a trade for... maybe the 2nd round pick would hold value & we could always add some cash... i've read an article that the Knicks might be interested in Omri Casspi so who knows maybe a larger deal w/SAC is a possibility too... i'm sure we'd probably have to add an asset like AR at the very least to get a deal like that done tho.

The trade for Omri Is a little odd. You can't have him and Fields as garbage men on the floor at the same time can you?

Is that a trade that would go along with sending Fields out?

I don't really see where he would fit in here.

i think the only way that would make sense is if we're using Gallo or Fields as a piece in another deal to upgrade other areas... i'm sure DW probably has multiple things in the works as contingencies if we miss out on Melo.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Mehmet Okur if he shows some signs of life down the stretch. The dude can shoot and open the floor for STAT and our 60 other wing players. Plus he's tough and can rebound a little. I'd throw a good chunk of mid level exception at him. Anyone here seen him lately? Does he look washed up?

I really liked the Love idea, Kahn will trade anyone who is not a point guard as long as he gets one back. So our package would have to include TD.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

The situation is what it is. As long as is our coach, we mind as well get players who will fit into his system.

I was thinking about this earlier, but where are the Oakley/Dale Davis/Antonio Davis-type of players in the league these days?

The only guy I can think of is Udonis Haslem.

Assuming Marc Gasol does not want to resign with the Griz, I think he would be a solid center for this team. If MDA does not trust Timmy, we could trade Timmy to the Griz for a resigned Marc Gasol.

I would love Reggie Evans on this team. He's quick and a beast on the boards. A bit undersized though, so I'm not sure how his post defense is.
Rose is not the answer.

The post has picked up on our postings about Marc Gasol:

I don't see the Griz letting him or not asking for just as much as we'd have to give up for Melo (just to bust our nuts), but it's still a good plan for a player worth the look.

I think at this point--the best way to go into a plan :B" if there was ever plan B is to follow the last offseason using caps space and the draft. One reason why we have improved was a re-dedication to using the draft process(which I can give Isiah some props for and then D walsh has continued) Like any sport--if you are good in the drafting process--you will become a successful team fast. To improve a team--you need to be good at all segments drafting RA and trading--they all have very equal importance. We didnt use the draft well fro so many years in the 90's well into the last decade and we had no player pipeline--now we do and are reaping rewards for it.

I know he used the picks he had, but between the Marbury and Curry deals Zeke tossed away most of the Knicks' high picks for a long period and those picks he did use were acquired from other teams. Barring Lee and Chandler, most of his picks were far from spectacular. Further, he spent most of his time supposedly trying to acquire stars and failing miserably. Except for when he swooped in and landed the Knicks LeBron...oh wait...

his post defense would be better than anyone we have on our team right now.
