Some people just cannot let go.

ISIAH and DOLAN are IGNORANT LOSERS

And nothing can change this.

This is great news. Sure, the haters are squawking, but they always do that. I am thrilled to hear that Cap'n Zeke's continuing contributions to the Knicks can finally be acknowledged. I feel confident that, over time, Dolan will maneuver Isiah back to his rightful position as GM.

This is the man who rescued the franchise and Jim Dolan, so of course Dolan is loyal. Isiah brought us all-star point guard Stephon Marbury, franchise cornerstone Eddy Curry, and hall-of-fame coach Larry Brown. He set new standards for management employee relations with his deft handling of the Anucha-Browne Sanders situation and the intern truck girl.

I'm positive that every move Walsh has made has been facilitated and informed by Isiah's previous set up moves. Any success from here on in is really attributable to the moves Isiah made in collecting all those assets that could then be moved or bought out to increase the team's flexibility, which I'm sure was all part of the plan to begin with.

Now, with Walsh in ailing health (he was recently seen in a wheelchair) and looking for a successor, Dolan has positioned Isiah to step back in when the time is right, and resume his rightful place at the helm.

I agree. People putting this on the same scale as murder and terrorism REALLY need to take a step back and maybe prioritize things. This isn't that big a deal. I don't like the move, but to wish someone death and say this is on the same level as the biggest tragedy in the history of the country and maybe the world is pretty f'ing stupid and despicable if you ask me.

I never wished Jim Dolan to die nor would I ever say such a thing. Don't attribute words like that to me. Others said that, not me.

I was referring to the Karma of NY City. Add the financial collapse of the stock markets, etc and things haven't gone that well for the city. Walsh was a ray of hope. Isiah....well, enough said. Just read the headlines.

Isiah Thomas is a bad person. And it's people like him why this world is so messed up. This is a better world for you and I with people like Thomas not here.

Stern needs to squash this. I think he really pushed Dolan to get Isiah out the last time. After the Miami fiasco if this happens Stern is suddenly going to look like a man with no authority. Three superstars circumvent the salary system set up for parity and then the dumb bunny owner of one the NBA's most popular franchises brings back the guy that he pushed to get out of the league. Stern shouldn't let this happen.

Markji - you mentioned 9/11 and Isiah in the same sentence. One is a catastrophic even that cost human lives and unmeasurable harm to the country.

The other is a former basketball suit who could be compared with Al Bianchi, Pete Babcock or Elgin Baylor.

9/11 is a total irrelevant stretch that has absolutely NOTHING to do with basketball and you know it

Maybe people should organize a PR campaign against this or something. I don't care enough to do it, but if somebody actually ran with it I would support it.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

isola, berman and lawrence have the least amount of credibility of any writers i've ever read.

glen beck's of sportswriting...

these dudes are full of so much crap i can't even begin to say enough..

isiah will be gm?

this is beyond ridiculous...

if it happens, i will concede, but these dudes are feasting of knick fan paranoia...

again, if you go to places like knickerblogger.net, fortunately there are others who share my belief that isiah has never been out of contract from the knicks because it is not over yet, and this is how they are getting their money for what he got paid.

is there not a chance that this is the reality??

i would agree that it still is a very bad message to send to fans.

to publicly announce something like this is definitely not smart.

Wasn't there a 'Fire Isiah' get together outside the Garden when he was Coach/President?

Today's Headlines say it all. Nobody is fooled by this. We've had 9/11, Isiah and Dolan - God, how terrible. I now know why LeBron didn't sign here. He supposedly changed his mind the last day - That was after Dolan sent Isiah! LeBron knew what was coming and didn't want any part of it.

I think this statement deserves a suspension or some kind of action if not just for all of the people who lost loved ones on that day. comparing a hiring to a disaster??? This is offensive and should be dealt with.

I apologize to you and to anyone else about the 9/11 remark. It wasn't meant to offend anyone nor was it said/written in jest. It may be over-dramatic in the comparison but I feel Isaiah destroyed this organization and Donnie has restored it. To bring Isiah back in any capacity is, IMO, a terrible mistake and as the NY sportswriters have written, a slap/spit in the face of Knicks fans. Again, sorry about the 9/11 reference.

as a scout of draft prospects i have no problem w/bringing Isiah back as a consultant... just as long as he has no say on player trade acquisitions.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

You think Dolan cares more about Allan Houston or Isiah Thomas? You tell me. Who did he hire just now? Who has he associated himself with since 2003, even after all the **** he did to the team? No other owner would do what Dolan is doing right now. Which means that there is a better than good chance that Dolan will also be the only owner to re-hire one of the worst GM's in franchise history.

Do you see Rich Kotite consulting the Jets or Ray Handley consulting the Giants? Are Art Howe and Steve Phillips showing up to halftime ceremonies for the Mets? Dallas Green and Bob Lemon doing any gigs for the Yankees? We are the ONLY team that is this pathetic.
