You just want to dump Gallo cause he is a community pick

Naw bro , I think we wait and see who's does more in what we are trying to do. I hope they both remain healthy though.

But I must say what 19 yr old comes to the League with a bad back ????

Superstars average 25-30/game usually. Ar and Gallo have to COMBINE their ppg to reach that level.

LMAO @ superstar

Gallo played with a coach who liked him even though as so many have said the 1 yr contract guys didn't.

Randolph played for the Nutty professor as a coach, but his teammates liked him.
You do the math. The coach is the one who lets you play through your mistakes or kills your confidence and takes you out of the game all the time.

I am a big chris paul fan, I think he is the best pg in the league, but it is not like duhon is our PG now.. felton is.. Is paul that much better than felton to want to give up two young prospects like gallo and AR? I am with you briggs.

TMS--if you are the NO GM what do you ask the Knicks for--this is what I want. If you dont take Okafor I will do Gallinari Randolph Chandler Fields Douglas both GS 2s and a 2014 # 1 no restriction and Curry for Paul Songalia and Arron Gray --so we have a deal?

Why do you keep asking this? If they go overboard, then no trade. How is that difficult to understand? But, if they ask for that kind of package, they're also incompetent, because no team would give them that.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No you wrong--that is the basis of the KG deal and Al Jefferson is considered a higher ranked prospect than anything we are giving.
Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, a 2009 first round draft pick (top three protected) and a return of Minnesota's conditional first round draft pick previously obtained in the Ricky Davis-Wally Szczerbiak trade. Minnesota also receives cash considerations in the deal.

it is not like paul is going to put up 32/20.... steve nash who is not far behind paul at all put up similar numbers to 16/10..

CP3 is a lot better than Ray Felton... to assume Felton would put up those kinds of numbers & then discount the numbers CP3 would put up in the same system w/the same players is a little hypocritical, no?... & i'm not accusing you tkf, you know i respect your views, but come on, let's be real here... all this excitement over a stopgap PG we signed for 2 years because we weren't willing to commit longterm to him... do you realize why we didn't sign him longterm? it's because we were holding out cap space so we could target Chris Paul in 2 years as a free agent... if you can get him now in a trade & still hold onto at least 1 of Gallo or AR in the process, i think it's a no brainer.

This roster= 8th seed
CP3 + Okafor + Amare + a couple role players = 4th seed.

Gallo is a 6-10 big fram 21 year old kid filling out and is one of the leagues best shooters with a decent handle.

Randolph is a underdeveloped body with great athletic ability but low fundamentals and bad shot selection. His potential is great but he has not established himself like gallo has nor proven to stay healthy.

They have very different games. Gallo can open the floor up and given his size and ability it is not a common skill set.

Most people feel that if you bring in Paul you need this type of ball player.

If you want to bring in Carmello and it was a trade senario then Gallo would be expendable.

I like the idea of both AR and Gallo.

Your original distain for Gallo's hype being of a community background.

What is really "alarming" about the desire for many fans to want to keep Gallo?

He is a drafted player by us who posses shooting ability, works hard and is marketable.

I can only guess what really "alarms" you!

You really think the league lacks black marketable players?

You are wayyyy off man.

You make Randolph who started his pro career playing with a nutty coach (Don sippy cup Nelson)some kind of under privelege kid who can't walk and chew bubble gum.

Danphoney himself last night on KNICKS LIVE TALK said Gallo can't just try and come to play in certain situations or 4th qtrs heroics but play consistently ALL DURING THE GAME for 82 games. He said that Gallo's head has to be into an entire game. That sounds just as dysfunctional as your trying to make Randolph saying his fundamentals are poor and he has bad shot selection.

What I was trying is this, You can't put one over the other, they both are 21 yrs of age and both missed a ton of games at least 1 yr in their career, but Gallo has actually played professionally since he was 16 yrs of age with grown men.

Stop with the color thing man, this is about skills on the basketball court.

no it isn't.. nalod was right on the money with what he said regarding your post...

you make excuses for randolph yet guys like monta and curry have flourished so far under him... AR has had some issues as well, I can deal with that, especially with his potential, but so far, gallo has just shown a bit more..

your dislike for gallo clearly shows through..

the difference is that gallo stretches the floor.. with a PG like paul and an inside player like amare, that is worth more than a slash/midrange player... IMO

TKF what you left out is Randolph plays just as effective on both ends of the court, that's what I meant about all-around.

effective regarding what? gallo stretches the floor, that is more of a need with the knicks, AR does not.... gallo had a better year than AR did, end of story and right now seems to be a bit ahead of AR in development.. that is the truth...

Just as effective.. aR shoots 20% from three.. that is a huge part of the offense here.. that is not just as effective..

I am confidant that D walsh will be patient with the team we have. Absolute common sense tells you he did not pay Ray Felton 8mm+ because he was interested in giving up the farm for Chris Paul. And all of this talk about what NO will take LOL!!!!!

If Im NO I would ask for Chandler Gallo AR fields every pick I can take --why NOT? I have a two year contract--why would I look for a cheesy deal--I can always trade him somewhere else----they are going to ask for a TON--so forget the fantasy stuff---they want the boat--and that would be the cost---you people are living in fantasy world. NO has ALL of the leverage with a two year contract. If you don't understand that go take a business course. The LONGER it goes on--the less NO deals from a position of strength ++++ we get to see what we have over a long sample of time. EVEN if Chris Paul got traded he ONLY has a 2 year contract

AND lastly I dont see where can Chris Paul guarantees anything!!! If we give up the farm--exactly what do we have left??????? Not happening on so many levels--dont get your panties wet.

boy briggs, I can't believe I am agreeing with everything you are saying today.. LOL.. but for real... NO can ask for the farm.. chris paul has no leverage here, and right now the knicks would be paying a premium... I knew this would happened once this crap was circulated in the media about paul wanting to come to NY.. well right now we have felton, probably the best PG we had since marbury first got here. people don't realize if you give up the farm to get paul here, we are not guaranteed to be any better than we would be had we not made the trade.. this trade, at this point right now will cost us a hefty premium..

AR is 6'11" 240lbs. what on earth would you want him shooting 3pts for?

I was thinking the same thing. KG cant shoot 3's either. I guess it is the D'Antoni effect.

LOL.. you make that sound real easy.. yea.. just go out there, drain a few threes and get 6 more points....that should be a piece of cake for 82 games....

Then why doesn't everyone do that?

That's his specialty, where have you been bro ?

I don't understand your argument. So you're saying that his speciality is easily and efficiently scoring 15 points
in his "rookie" year, and is this supposed to be a bad thing? Isn't that contradicting labelling him as a career journeyman?

Panos I never called him a journeymen, that was another poster. Also in Danphoney's shoot 1st think later offense last yr 3 open looks with his shooting skills he can easily do that when he shoots. Don't forget Danphoney said he's the best shooter he has ever seen

He shot 38% from down town last yr playing in 81 gms

OK, well if that is the case PLAYA, then doesn't it make sense that the knicks would want to keep gallo over AR?

I mean, this is going back to your original post on the issue playa..

I dont understand the Gallo versus Randolph stuff, these guys compliment each other nicely. We have two skilled 7 footers who aren't stiffs. Those guys could be a problem for the league in 2 years.

honestly TMS it would be equally as stupid to think that the hornets with all of the leverage would want to give up paul without getting both of those guys back.. I think that is briggs point.. If I am NO... I start out asking for gallo, AR, chandler, curry and a first round pick and the knicks would take back okafor... I mean, why wouldn't they.. it is not like paul can opt out at the end of the year...

Agreed. Keep 'em both. I'd love to see these guys on the floor together +Amare. That's a whole lot of front court right there with Chandler backing up the 3/4. I like it.
