All things being equal, and that was not really the case since GS offered him guaranteed $$, it sounds like he wanted to stay in the area.

Saw his GS pre-draft interview, and he talked about how he had tried to get into Stanford and some other schools on the west coast, but they would not offer him a scholarship- he had to be a walk-on. He said that Harvard offered him a scholarship, although I don't think he said whether it was for BB or academic.

I'd be interested to know exactly what Watson's looking for right now. I betcha he's looking for something similar to what Wes Matthews just got from the Blazers, essentially a full MLE type deal. I also wonder if the team being sold along with the big D Lee signing have anything to do with not bringing Watson back...They just gave lee $80M..And what was the team sold for again - $450M or something? NBA record from what I heard...Maybe the new owners are a little tapped at the moment.

Yeah just Googled it (or should I say Luegled it -- HAHA!)..Just went down a day or two ago huh? Can't believe I missed it..Good trade for Chicago -- he'll help them and they gave up basically nothing. The Bulls should be decent - that 2011 pick probably won't be worth that much. Watson's a nice backup for D Rose. Now I can see why GS is so interested in Lin..Thanks EG.
