If you didn't learn from LeBron situation you should never say someone is coming until they are signed sealed and delivered.

3yr/21mm is an extremely good deal. to compare.. we gave duhon 2yr/12mm and and felton is 10000000000000000X the player duhon is.

felton/chandler/gallo/AR/amare with turiaf, buke, td, walker off the bench is really nice. very young but with that comes a ton of athleticism, good shooters, good defenders.. i really like this team.. i think this team vies for the 5 or 6 seed. and if we are lucky enough to get melo a year from now forget it..

Just the fact that Felton pushes the ball and can play transition offense makes him 10000000000000x better than Duhon. Seriously, it was so hard to watch games last season and see Duhon walk the ball up every possession.

Also, Duhon got 4 yrs/$20M. I would consider 3 yrs/$21M for Felton a bargain compared to that.

well i meant when we signed duhon.. we signed him to a 2yr/12mm deal. but i agree with the rest of your post

he gave up a second rounder for amare!

Huh? He PICKED UP a second rounder, if I am not mistaken.

I say A- for Donnie this off-season. We didn't get our guy, but it was clearly never going to happen. The three amigos has this shyte worked out well in advance. The rest was smoke and mirrors. Pat is a wily sonofabitch, got to hand that to him. Donnie made excellent deals and set us up for a solid foundation when we can find a stud to come in and tandem down with Amare. Melo in 11!

Felton for 3yrs/$21mil is ideal for us, best available playmaker at a reasonable contract. We were not going to get Parker, Collison, or CP3 this year. No Way. And we can't sign our superstar until next year. I think (unlike Queen James) Melo really wants to be in NY. And clearly for NBA players that's an important point. A lot of guys can't handle fans like us or the intense spotlight the media imposes. Lebron, it turns out, is one of those need-to-be-loved softies who would never fit in well here. Go figure. I never had him pegged that way.

The length of the deal has not yet been agreed upon, but Felton will earn a starting salary in the $7 million range.

Felton was widely considered the top free-agent point guard available in this summer's superstar-laden market. One of the other top free-agent playmakers, Steve Blake, came off the market earlier this week when he agreed to a four-year, $16 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Bobcats selected Felton fifth overall in the 2005 NBA draft, and he has career averages of 13.3 points, 6.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He's proven to be durable, appearing in at least 78 games in each of his five seasons as Charlotte's starting point guard, and should bring stability to the Knicks' backcourt.

7mil ain't bad...

People have to look past how a player may look on another team sometimes and see what that players talents would do on your team. In this case you have a PG that is born to play fast, has a winning college pedigree and is a natural pass 1st PG!!!! I Repeat! NATURAL PASS 1st PG!!! This was a key pickup and if our young studs can continue to improve this could be a surprise darkhorse in the East. Donnie has put together our most balanced team in a DECADE!!!

Styles of play does matter...that's why kahn is such a retard for drafting and signing all those PG's to play the Triangle offense in minnesota...

I read a poster say Felton sucks in the half court. Yeah he sucks trying to dump it down to OK4 and...well nobody else. Larry Brown made the playoffs going slow with a team built to run. D'antoni runs pick and rolls all day. The Knicks half court set is going to play to Felton's strength and that is creating offense with the pass or drive. Match made in heaven...I wouldn't be suprised if the dude has a career year where his name is mentioned with some of the best in the league.

Very excited about this season. Knicks got seriously better...but we gotta play the games.

well the big difference with this year than others is that we resemble a well put together team thats balanced which is something we havent had in such a long time. NOW i believe we can make the playoffs and the funny thing is that about 30 hours ago i thought we weren't. great moves by donnie in the span of 24 hours. f@#$ lebron! we are coming for your neck next year.

Felton is solid, no complaints here. Now the important question - how do these moves affect fantasy basketball!!
Rose is not the answer.

Don't know why passed all all those guys like Felton in other FA's and the draft, because they can't shot the three and then went with a 8 million dollar version.

I think mister Mustachio is desperate..................

Felton... 3 years, 25M, 3rd year non-guaranteed? Is that the truth here?

apparently the deal is $8.5 million a year for 3 years, with the final year not guaranteed. I love this deal... his contract very well could be a huge trade asset. Either a decent player with an expiring contract or a reasonable contract for a player putting up numbers in offense

Either way, a win
