Now if we are talking about Gallo playing the PF or C spot then I say right on. But if we are still talking about Gallo guarding point guards and taking a lot of three pointers then what's the point. The front office added a wing player on a team full of wing players that needed help on the other side of the ball and in the paint. Now we hope to add another wing player in addition to Gallo this off season. Maybe we get a Bosh also or maybe we don't. My take on it is that front office fail to add talent to necessary positions. Maybe there is something wrong with me because I'm tired of the one game scenarios with my players especially at the end of the season. And down the road talk of maybe, perhaps... when I'm looking at other teams not having to wait that long. Just my take.

Notice how no one questioned what you said, they just came at me WITH FALSE ACCUSATIONS. LOL

So once again, your beef is with management and not with the player. But like we did with Allan Houston we hold a grudge against hte player because we didn't get what we want.

When we take the front office out of the equation. When we forget about all the guys we wish we had and cry about daily and just focus on the player and his skills, you can see the guy developing right in front of our eyes.

So you agree with Pharezone's comment huh Bip ?

Ya'll need to quit with all this personal shyt ya'll spitting about each other. Damn, we all love the Knicks. We're just disagreeing about management's approach. I think both sides have validity. This isnt a good look for grown ass men to be acting like this off of something so inconseqential.

And ya'll are grown, grown. Like you could be my daddy, grown. Like you getting AARP shyt in the mail, grown. Like you're irregular and can't eat spicy food no more, grown. Like ya'll had to use "colored" or "white" bathrooms, grown...

I'm sure Bip and playa are well aware that there are more "consquential" things out there.

For the record, not to go on a completely far and different topic, I think entertainment has proven to be just as important as anything in human life. Chew on that one.

what are you questioning me on? I dont get the point of your rebuttal.

Who gives a fukk what they're "well aware of", I just dont see the value in them developing these hard feelings over a difference of opinion. sometimes you forget about what you know when you're heated. I'm just telling them to chill. Why does that bother you?

Doesn't bother me at all. I am actually enjoying their arguement as I do with most of the arguements on this board. At least the ones that prove to have parties with some brains.

What I still don't get is why playa keeps calling Gallo a community pick. Dolan is italian? The majority of NY fans are italians? Gallo is a player and what we have seen so far is worth the spot he was picked at.

MDA has Italian heritage and know his father. I don't think they'd draft him this high if he were not worth it though. Not when you're in a state like the Knicks are and were. Not a smart man like Walsh at least.

Well, when they start scrappin' in the streets and one of them goes off and breaks his artifical hip or breaks his pacemaker then the blood will be on your hands!!

So the community that playa is talking about is MDA and Gallo's pop?

That's OK. I'll just wipe it on you and pass the blame on you.

I agree that he was a community pick, but he's also proving his worth so I think they're both right.

Yeah, those two along with NYC's all-powerful Italian Illuminati.

loweyecue wrote:What I routinely here from people who criticize Gallo is their incessant griping against how he got picked at 8 in a strong draft. for some reason these people have made up their minds to hold that against Gallo like it was his fault he got picked where he did. No matter how well Gallo plays people are more interested in comparing n number of other players availble at the time. This in a league where Kobe Bryant was picked at 22.

If you all you can do is compare him with your own fantasy pick and hold it against him go ahead and knock yourself out. Gallo has proved to be a two way player who is developing very nicely. These same people that bitch about him and by extension MDA and Walsh can never stop wanting to build through the draft. But they can't find it in them to even post a single sentence in support of the draft pick that is trying his best to make an impact on the team. Sad, very sad.

Kobe was picked I believe 13 by Charlotte and was traded to LA. Gallo was picked #6 in the draft. You don't even do research on what you are talking about.

Point taken, and it has zero relevance to the message I was trying to convey.

Dude, its pretty clear, its not about being specifically Italian. Playa means cuz he's white. Only he doesn't want to say it in those words. Fairly obvious.

So Brook Lopez, Kevin Love (if he had been available and chosen by us), or Joe Alexander (thank the gods we did not end up with him)- the non-Euro white players- would have been "community" picks and caused Walsh/MDA to be scrutinized in the same way as they were for picking Gallinari? And Lopez, Love, or Alexander would have been subjected to the same animosity that Gallinari faced from some around here?

No. There are no conspiracy theories here. I have told you countless times exactly my feelings.

1.) Gallo is well worth the 6th pick
2.) I know that scouting is not a perfect science. I do not expect management to get the best player everytime they draft. So even if Gallo was say worth about the 20th pick I am okay with it if the guy is a contributor. I expect them to get good players and over time build a team. If you get good players, magically over time you build a good team.
3.) If the objective was to get the best player with every pick then every GM would be fired.
4.) We do not know who will be the best in Gallo's draft. The jury is still out. What I do know is that he is showing as much ability and potential as all who were drafted 6 and beyond
5.) Our pick was a lottery pick. I expected them too go best available player so that we could increase the talent level of this team. "We needed, and still need to fill every need" -Bip.

Anything else you need clarification on?

What feelings am I developing. I can seperate the man from the posting. I have no idea what type of guy playa is. He may be the greatest person on earth and if I ever met him I would give him the same benefit of the doubt that I would give anybody eles. As a poster I think he is provocative with little substance. Nobody else needs to feel this way about him. That is just how I feel about him.
