We'll always have that nil-nil draw against Sweden >sniff<

I really wish we could have gotten a goal against England. Take that, Colonizers! Ah well.

Hopefully, this officially closes the book on this era/error and the start of a new beginning - one that is so very very desperately needed.

Do your soul a favor and bank on it being an even 10 seasons of suck. You may get pleasantly surprised, but you won't get disappointed.

Being hopeful is not the same as being optimistic. Quite frankly, hope is all we got left at this point.

Well, let the off-season of uncertainty, panic attacks and (possible) rage begin.

All I got left is one more Yuengling.

Congratulations everybody, you survived another season without defecting to the Raptors!

<twinkling fingers> Two years have come and gone. So another year that MDA doesn't have Nash and the results are the same. A career 33% winning coach without Nash continues. There have been peaks and valleys well mostly chasms. Next up Donnie Walsh. I'm waiting on Lebron/Wade/Bosh to come aboard to turn this ship around and make it all worth it.

I wonder if Walsh was convinced to bring in Thibs.

What's the point at this stage? I mean all it will do is create another daily headline about the D'Antoni watch. Thibs name will be hovering over D'Antoni in games and practices. Either fire the guy or bring in someone who you know will not cause unintentional strife like a Del Harris/Tex Winters. An senior coach that everyone knows that won't bring such disruptions to the team. I can see someone like myself saying fire MDA now and let Thibs take over after every loss. I know the press will be doing the same.

Nah man, I'm with you. I'd rather prepare the funeral arrangements right now.

The New York Knicks franchise is dead and now it needs to be buried.

I disagree. Knick fans want defense and intense effort. Thibs was a part of that before and was a part of that for a championship team. Over the past two seasons every suspected fault of D'Antoni's has come to fruition in NY as well as more faults. He has not done a good job and his style is the opposite of what has been successful in NY. The only defense I have heard for D'Antoni and his crazy rotations, player relation problems, drama, refusal to develop and play rookies when he was coaching a team going nowhere filled with players who would be gone the following season, and losing at a rate only matched by the other two seasons that he coached without Nash as his point guard is that he doesn't have his players. I think if Thibs is in place fans start calling for D'Antoni to be fired very early on. I also think D'Antoni tries to sabotage Thibs as there is no way a guy as rigid as D'Antoni changes or accepts the edict to change.

Since they're out of town, they have to wait their turn. Dolan and Sather is holding one for the Rangers right about now at MSG.

fixed that for you. and whose says they arent playing intensely now? just because they aren't playing intensely on defense? believe me, i like defense as much as the next guy, but everyone here knows the story. d'antoni was brought here for 2010 and to coach the team that we get from 2010 so what's the point of bitching and moaning about the all other crap? whether you like it or not, thats the way it is and some people here have a problem facing the facts of the matter on d'antoni. yes, we all know he likes offense, but face the facts that he's an offensive coach and he's here to stay for atleast another 2 years.

and just reading the rest of your post - the same crap that goes on here with the d'antoni can be said about the previous 3 coaches before him, when are people going to realize it's not the coaches, it's the players.

So we played even less defense than usual.

Butterfingers Barron was getting thrown around without calls and I think it caused him to try to rush things when he would get the ball. Finished okay.

Lee too was getting hit. In fact it seemed our whole team was getting banged around without calls. The worst were the multiple reach-ins that weren't called on Toronto.

I rarely complain about officiating but last night was pretty bad.

Also this team has trouble with height. We play against legit 7 footers like Bargs, Lopez...and we get beat down.

Gallo opening games 2-8 isn't a good thing. This guy obviously needs to warm up before launching from deep. So start him out in the post in the 1st quarters and then let him drift outside when he gets warmed up.

Douglas and Walker played well but Walker did get tired in the 3rd Q and started bricking.
SRod plays too fast and too out of control. Not sure what to think about him.

Overall not the best of games to watch as the last game. Raptors shooting 70% through three quarters is inexcusable.

i thought MDA did a crap job this year all things considered. But how can you compare it to what happened in denver, pho, ny? They don't even come close to resembling the same or similar situations.

Denver - took over 20 games into the season. Previous year team was something like 10-70. What can you take from that situation and compare it to either NY or PHO?
New York - we all know Donnie has been tearing down the team over the past 2 years. How does that compare to the situation in PHO?

My sense is that MDA is not a developmental coach in the same way as Scott Skiles is better with younger teams. But the opposite also holds: MDA commands a lot more respect from a vet team than his counterparts (Skiles, etc.)... and I kinda get that feel from a guy like Phil Jackson too.

cosmic, I pretty much saw the game the exact same way..

Yes, our defense was a damn joke

Toronto was reaching at will, slapping, pushing and not getting called for it at all.. Barron was getting tossed around.

Lee started off slow as well, rushed some shots, but got hit a lot and didn't get the call..

Gallo got hit a bit and was getting pissed he didn't get a couple of calls. I agree, he needs to start the game inside the arc and work his way to the three point line... No reason for a guy to come out shooting 2-8 and then swish threes like he is shooting the ball into the ocean.. he clearly needs to heat up, get some contact and get going..

Walker has some range on the three, but would like to see him work on his defense this summer and lose some weight...

i was completely wrong on my assessment a few months ago.

if bargs were playing under d'antoni, he would average closer to 40 ppg.

Crying over the officiating?

Get NBA League Pass guys. The refs arent going to give you a helping hand when you play ZERO D and dance around the perimeter. Attack the basket and you will get rewarded most of the time.

pharzeone's point was that mda has not shown that he has anything to add as a coach unless he has one of the greatest point guards in the history of the sport to run his team. he's shown it with consistency and across 3 franchises now. he may disprove it next year or he may continue the trend. You can say he commands the respect of vets or you can say he wins when a 2-time mvp runs his offense. Can’t prove which one is really the case yet.
