The only reasons I can come up with are loyalty, and not wanting to admit to making a mistake. I am not sure which is the case but D'Antoni is looking pretty beaten down at this point so maybe Walsh is putting on a bit of pressure.CrushAlot wrote:Juice wrote:Douglas sat almost the whole year. We don't know how to groom young talent anymore....And living in AZ, I was told by almost everybody, Dantoni doesn't play rookies....
So if thats the case, I would've traded the pick, and at least got one of those PG's.... Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Fair and according to his coach accurate. His coach brought this up during the post game interview from the Celtics. KG wasn't using a lot of savvy but some old fashion hustle. He got to spots quicker than Gallo. As I noted in that gamethread. No one was around to talk about it though. I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Dantoni may have been talking about that one game, but I don't think he will agree with your statement.. You put on active and skilled 4 or 5 on him in the post he will have a lot trouble like in Boston. the hawks game contradicts that..... But honestly any active and skilled bigman is trouble for any player in the league... usually those guys are the Garnetts, amare's bosh's and boozers... Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I might be jumping the gun a little bit but I think Toney Douglas might be our best young player. I think he's more talented and has more potential then Danilo Gallinari, who I just don't think is THAT good, and Wilson Chandler. I love Douglas' defense. He has the potential to be one of the best, maybe even top 5, perimeter defensive guards in the league. And his shooting is very good and his athleticism allows him to be a decent scorer. His playmaking skills improve with every game. Douglas should be penciled in as the starting PG next season and beyond. Best of all? He'll be the perfect PG fit for LeBron James.

I think I'm higher on Gallo than you, but I don't think he's the next Dirk either. I'm pretty sure management feels the same way as the lotto pick Hill was packaged in salary dump, which I was thrilled about. Douglas just seems like a winner. I also agree with PresIke. If the Knicks had just ridden him from day one would he be playing like he is now? Debatable. Either way, he's being put into a position where he's more likely to succeed. The fans and media aren't going to scream about how much he sucks and why he should be yanked form the starting lineup now DLeethal wrote:
