Don't worry when we sign Leb Ron James, Chris Bosh, re-sign David Lee and 2 time scoring champion TMac we know those picks will be late first rounders which everyone knows are worth less than early 2nd rounders because of the guaranteed contract

Lets be real. All the players we traded are trash and the picks should be trash if we're active this offseason.

Surprised we were able to unload Hughes as opposed to Harrington. We should be able to move Al for a decent pick...

if the knicks are sure to get the 2 FA's, then why is the protection the hold up?

Keeping Harrington is a small silver lining if we can make a good deal for him.

No it's not. apparently chicago is trying to beat our offer. so if chicago unloads hinrich and get space for 2 max guys and we're stuck with space for one only, we might as well throw in the towel.

I don't think his coach builds him up mentally if that is what you mean. I hope Hill stays and this falls thru but I don't know if he will ever get a fair run during D'Antoni's tenure.

Update 6 (11:07 PM) Randy McIlvoy Twitter Feed

A good source of mine has just informed me , Tracy McGrady and his close support group are preparing for a trade to Chicago. The source says it's not a done deal but "likely" to the Bulls. Stay tuned...

I think MDA would play Hill quite a bit if he was still here and his game was showing improvement. MDA is not some evil guy. He does like playing guys that know how to play the game tho. Hill just has to keep learning and getting better.

another thing not mentioned is that if the players want to come to ny but still get their 6th year, they will need to come to ny via a s&t. with virtually no picks or anything, accomplishing that s&t will be somewhat difficult for one or possibly both FA's.

I think I might be one of the few who don't hate this trade. By doing this, it gives a different angle to LeBron's "I want to go where I can win" mentality (whether that's legit or not). Donnie is going balls-out for free agency this summer. It's obviously very risky, especially with the future picks and whatnot, but unlike other foolish risky trades the Knicks have made in recent past, this one has an extremely high potential.

Basically, at the current situation this franchise is in, why not? What's to lose? This trade could go down as one of the worst in NBA history, or depending on what happens this, one of the best

All I know is being worried about 2011 and 2012 picks is a loser mentality and I'm sick of the loser mentality. I understand the fanbase has been hurt enough with the trading of draft picks but this is a different case. It's do or die and it's worth it in my opinion. No free agent class will be better than this. None.

We're in TOO DEEP for 2010. It's time to go all-in the gamble. We've been losing for 10 f'ing years. It's time for us to go balls to the wall. If we F up, whatever. But I've come too far (I think we all have) to sit here an haggle over Jordan ****ing Hill and a 2012 protected draft pick if it means having a chance to sign 2 max guys. I just wont do it.

The Bulls and Knicks' competition stretched beyond the Bulls' 118-85 blowout victory Tuesday night, achieved without the services of Joakim Noah.

The teams also are in battle for Tracy McGrady's expiring $22 million contract.

League sources said the Bulls have offered Brad Miller, Tyrus Thomas and either Kirk Hinrich or John Salmons to the Rockets for McGrady, who has been granted a leave and is training in Chicago.

The Rockets have shown little interest in either Hinrich or Salmons and thus, sources said, the Bulls have tried to recruit a third team to get involved.

Like the Knicks, the Bulls are offering a draft pick to the Rockets in an attempt to get them to take on a long-term deal.

Some league sources believe the Bulls' offer is emerging as the front-runner as the 2 p.m. Thursday trade deadline looms.

Separately, as reported, the Knicks, Spurs and Nuggets have made bids for Thomas.

Because trading Thomas alone does nothing to this summer's salary-cap situation, the Bulls are seeking at least a draft pick along with expiring contracts in return for the fourth-year forward in those smaller deals.

That's why, at least for now, they're sitting on the Knicks' offer of Al Harrington for Thomas and Jerome James.

Sources indicated the Bulls and Lakers also have discussed Hinrich, although the Lakers are insisting Sasha Vujacic be included in any deal. Because the Bulls are seeking draft picks and expiring salaries, they won't take Vujacic and the $5.5 million he is owed next season.

That, too, likely would need a third team to happen.

League sources also said the Bulls are trying to accommodate Jannero Pargo by finding him a team where he will receive playing time. Pargo's $2 million contract expires after this season.

The Knicks are said to have interest, and Pargo auditioned well with 12 points.

As for Noah, the Bulls sat their emotional leader down Feb. 4 at Atlanta in the hopes he would return after the All-Star break.

Instead, Noah missed his fifth straight game with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and won't accompany the team on its two-game trip to New York and Minnesota.

"I hate sitting," Noah said. "I want to be out there.

"But I also have to look at the big picture. I want to be ready when it really counts."

Andres Nocioni missed two months with plantar fasciitis in 2006-07, and it hasn't yet been two full weeks of rest for Noah. The Bulls have held internal discussions about sitting Noah beyond Saturday's home game against the 76ers.

"I don't want to put a specific date on it," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "We're just going to take it day-by-day. He's feeling better.

"But the doctor and (trainer Fred Tedeschi) feel we need to rest him more to heal it up. Hopefully, he will continue to respond to the treatment."

Noah said he experienced soreness Tuesday morning after participating in about 20 minutes of Monday's practice.

"I'm still having trouble moving laterally," he said.

Isiah, is that you?

That's why Isiah traded a future first round pick for Marbury, and why he gave up 2 for Curry. Because being worried about where those picks might end up or who they might turn into is a loser mentality.

I will be so done with this franchise's current brain trust if they trade 3 lottery picks for for an extra $9MM in salary cap this summer.
