It is much easier to complain - than invest your faith in something unknown, say for example, a player like the 20 year old Wilson Chandler. Anyone can root for him when he's dropping 27 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists. How many can support a young player through his turnovers, blown defensive switches and typical rookie struggles, and see him as a player worth cheering for, BEFORE he blows up? I choose to see the so-called "upside", the bright moments and the PO-tential. P-o-t-e-n-t-i-a-l.

That is why I AM The Mayor's Campaign Manager, going on three years.

And yes, if John Starks came out of retirement, I WOULD be right there pulling for him to dunk on someone resembling Horace Grant. You got a problem with that?

you seem to have a problem with "weak hearted fans" who only know how to complain & celebrate when they lose, yet i have yet to see anyone here celebrate when this team loses a game, not even islesfan... meanwhile you hem & haw about players when they're playing well & call them the MVP of our team while posters raise legitimate concerns about some of their weaknesses, then you switch sides completely a year later after those concerns become realized & abandon those players like they were yesterday's newspaper.

u speak as if you're the only one here with a strong enough heart to stick w/our young players through their struggles & have faith in their potential... that's pretty arrogant of you... everyone here, including these so called "haters" that you seem to enjoy taking unprovoked cheap shots at on a regular basis, have their own opinions when it comes to certain players & yet u seem to think yours is the only one that matters... there have been several times you've been called out for your condescending tone by other posters and yet you continue to mock, poke at & annoy anyone whose opinions vary from yours... your actions by every definition define trolling behavior.

"Kevin from BP (by far and away one of my favorite sites) does a great job of breaking down the Knicks resurgence and points to several things that we alluded to on TKB Chalkboard, most notably the team’s length and ability to protect the 3 point arc. Again, if you keep teams out of transition and prohibit 3s you’re going to give up less than 100 points for the most part. This is why Jonathan Bender is a key piece to the second unit even if he’s struggling to make shots, I guarantee you that he takes away two three pointers per game (6 points) from an opposing bench player who is used to coming in the game with the second unit and getting wide open looks. Very few teams can bring in 7′0 on the perimeter defensively off the bench."

the words "Jonathan Bender" & "perimeter defense" should never be used in the same sentence... if he's playing press D on the perimeter, his man can get by him w/the quickness, it's not even up for debate... Bender's knees are shot, he's incapable of guarding anyone on the perimeter unless they're standing right in front of him & trying to shoot... this is what u call a great job of breaking down the Knicks' resurgence? LOL.

Is anyone really expecting perfection from this team at this point? Larry is still on the team and i'm sure at some point he'll get back in there, but in the scheme of things I doubt he will ever see major minutes again. The main thrust of the rotation is in Lee, Chan, Gallo, Jared, Duhon and Al, they are the most consistently impactful players, Then you have the rest of the guys and MDA is gonna be working to try and get the most out of bench. Sometimes successfully and other times not so much.

Bender is a guy that MDA would love to see get comfortable and he probably feels that will come much faster than it would for Hill. Still i'm sure that he won't keep running him out there if he doesn't show more production soon. Then again we don't know about the intangible aspects of what he may feel he's getting from Bender. You sometimes have to look past the stats. The same goes for Hughes. Perhaps he feels Hughes negatively effects what the team is doing, much like Nate does at times. Let's face it we don't have a perfect answer to our problems on the team at this point.

i prefer to use my own eyes to formulate an opinion & having the conviction to speak on it... when you watch Bender on the floor do u honestly believe he's making a difference out there? do u see the intangibles that he brings to the table like Fishlips does for example? do u see him being active on the floor, or is he usually just spotting up beyond the 3 pt arc & standing there hoping someone will kick it out to him while his man is doubling down on someone else? all i see is a guy who puts us at a disadvantage whenever he's on the floor on both ends. when he puts the ball on the floor & drives to the hole, he's very succeptible to turning the ball over... if Bender could at least stop & pop a midrange J over the man who was guarding him, he wouldn't be such a liability, but i haven't seen that from him either... you're making an awful lot of assumptions about MDA's reasoning behind playing Bender, all i know is he's looked pretty bad since he's been here... no one thinks benching Bender is the cure to all our problems, but u always want your best players on the floor... IMO Bender is not one of our best 8 or 9 players & he doesn't belong in the rotation.

A good sign is the Knicks at 7-12 playing better on the road

With Charlotte at 3-15 and Chicago at 3-12, the Knicks, after a miserable November, are within striking distance of the 8th spot

Fun fact: at 37% Johnathan Bender is tied for the second best 3 point shooting percentage on the team after Danilo Gallinari at 40 per cent

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

Shaq's Got Your Back

Olbrannon - cute, but you know that deal never happens in a trillion billion years. Shaq won't like repacking and the Cavs already experimented with Larry Hughes as a running buddy for Wise.

Besides, while the new Knicks have their sights set on making the playoffs, it is too much fun watching the press instigate the whining and moaning over playing time.

The so-called "three unhappy campers" - Darko, Larry Hughes, and Eddy Curry - can be professional, keep working hard in practice and take a number.

Meanwhile, Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas got next.

Darko and Hughes can continue to work hard and take a number.

We all already know Curry its just best for Curry to step down as a professional basketball player.
