Eddy Curry-Mobley-Hill for McGrady

Harrington for Thomas

If we are going to do a deal like this I would like to see the above done and use Thomas off the bench next season

I like the idea that he is a shot blocker. We have NO interior Defense and even if we started playing Hill and he quickly developed into a defensive force it would be nice to have more then one player who could defend on the inside.

I don't know what Harrington's trade value is. He's an expiring but hell we got him for Craw didn't we - so he wasn't worth much before and I can't see how that's changed.

I definitely would not want to do this if we couldn't drop his salary if it didn't work out. But if we could take a shot without risking the CAP space I'd be interested in this type of player. If he's good enough to make the trade - I don't know.

congrats on your 1000th post. it's always good to see an old guy get it in before he kicks

Even more importantly I'm getting Sh&T from Marv. Now I feel like I belong.

there's plenty more where that came from

Not to bust in on the AARP brunch but Marv, did you just imply that you are full of sh&t?

Just play Jordan Hill!!! Same type of player but with better moves inside and a jumpshot...Unless the Knicks aren't planning on re-sgning David Lee, cuz then it makes total sense.

word up... adding Ty Thomas' cap hold next season w/o dumping a contract like Fishlips or Curry doesn't make any sense... yeah, he'd bring shotblocking which we need desperately but why not just play Jordan Hill more like Eny suggested? we just used a damn #8 lottery pick on this kid & we're talking about trading for someone with a similar skillset?

I only do the Al for Ty trade if we can send Curry/Mobley/Hill to Houston for TMac and their first rounder. It'll save us like $5mil I think from the cap next season (if we resign TT) and the full shabang of Eddie's garbage deal if we don't. It means we can sign a max FA and keep Lee + TT, OR sign two max FA if we don't keep Lee/TT.

Do it.

Offering the Rockets Jordan Hill/Curry/Mobely for McGrady is a great deal for both teams. You want to stand pat and not do that deal you're a fool.

We are basically ****ed if we don't get lebron and that deal allows us to have Max money to give to Lebron/Bosh or whoever Lebron wants to play with and still keep Chandler/Gall/Douglas. But **** it let's hold on to Hill miss out on Lebron and hope we hit the lottery in 2011.

Making trades like Isiah is beyond stupid and foolish. There is absolutely no reason to include Gallo, TD, Hill or even Chandler in absolutely ANY deal that involves Tracy McGrady. NO REASON.

why do they need Curry. Don't they already have a broken C with another year on his contract?

i'd be willing to give up Chandler or TD to clear Curry's contract off our books, u can pick up guys like that late in the draft every year... the potential rewards of signing Lebron & Bosh at the same time make it worth it in my view... definitely not Gallo or Hill tho, those guys were high lottery picks & have big upsides, & even tho neither is worth giving up a chance to get Lebron & Bosh, u shouldn't have to give up that much.

Are you on crack? You must be because you're clearing 12+ million off the cap for next season for a guy that may or may not be something in order to bring in a top 5 all time player and an allstar sidekick to pair with three young talents and you could resign David Lee on top of that.

That's an Isiah move alright clear cap to become a championship relevant team again.

The Rockets need a big and Curry if he plays is a plus but Hill is the key to the deal. They have lowry, brooks, and ariza so there is no need for any other player on our roster.

Yeah but dude you don't HAVE to trade any of those guys to get McGrady is all I'm saying. I understand the logistics of the trade, but you don't HAVE to include Jordan Hill to make it work.

I definitely agree with the idea of the trade and I'm all for it. I just don't think you have to trade guys like Gallo or Hill (maybe Chandler or TD) to get a broken down McGrady in the last year of his contract.

there are no guarantees that Lebron & Wade or Bosh will wanna sign w/the Knicks even if we have the cap space to sign them tho... what if Lebron or Bosh decide they want to go play w/Wade in MIA & live near South Beach? obviously the lure of playing in a market like NY will be attractive but there's also drawbacks to playing here too... if those guys decide they wanna come here & you're guaranteed of that then obviously u don't let Jordan Hill keep u from making the deal to make it possible, but the point is it shouldn't take that much to make it possible... T-Mac is a huge question mark healthwise, & even tho he's only an expiring, u still don't want a repeat of the McDyess situation... i know McDyess was signed beyond a single season, but u still gave up a #7 pick (& Camby to boot) to get him here & his knee gave out before he ever produced for us... for a lesser pick like Chandler or TD i don't let them stand in my way of making the deal even w/the questions about where the top FA's decide to play next season, but it shouldn't cost u a top lottery pick to get T-Mac here IMO.
