why wouldn’t any team give him an offer last summer? the worst thing that happens is it gets matched. i think the interest is nil.

because Nate wasn't interested in going anywhere else last summer.

Nate was insterested inj getting a long tem deal. It was in his interest to sign elsewhere to provoke the Knicks to match.

Nate was very open about his desire to stay in NY. Playing chicken with Walsh's commitment to the 010 plan was not in the best interest of what was in his heart.

Nate is one of the few guys who plays for something bigger than a paycheck.

This one falls on Walsh. Does anyone ****ing communicate on this franchise. You have a deal to dump Jared and Nate and you don't take it. Again, someone from the front office needs to explain this?

The coach doesn't like the player, then why was Nate resigned?

This ****ing organization is so indept it's disgusting. So instead of having an additional 6.9 million to spend we have to discuss why nate is getting benched.

ATLANTA - Nate Robinson's agent wasn't aware that his smallest client had been benched against the Orlando Magic until receiving a phone call late Wednesday night from his biggest client.

"Dwight Howard called me after the game and said, 'I can't believe Nate didn't play,'" Aaron Goodwin said Thursday. "I was just disappointed because I think he deserves a chance to play."

Whether Robinson is rescued from the Knicks bench for Friday's game against the Hawks remains to be seen. Nate-Gate entered Day 2 with Mike D'Antoni telling reporters that he would likely meet with Robinson before or after this morning's shootaround. D'Antoni, upset over Robinson's preparation, focus and general behavior, handed the backup guard his first DNP in nearly two years and made no promises that Robinson will be in the rotation tonight.

"We'll talk," D'Antoni said following Thursday's practice at Georgia Tech. "It's a fluid situation. I'm going to play the eight or nine best guys that I think will be able to get us a win that night."

The lineup D'Antoni used on Wednesday did little to prevent Orlando from a 118-104 victory. Three days earlier, Robinson scored 22 fourth-quarter points in a home loss to the Magic.

"At the end of the day Mike's the coach, but you'd think that if they're trying to win games Nate would play," Goodwin said over the telephone. "He still plays hard and helps this team win."

Goodwin is in town on other business, but in light of Wednesday's events he decided to meet with Robinson yesterday. He says he also spoke by phone with Knicks president Donnie Walsh.

"I have the utmost respect for Donnie," he said. "I want this to work out for everybody. I've spoken to Nate and he'll do whatever Mike deems necessary to ensure that he has an opportunity to play and help the team win."

Alan Hahn has repeatedly said that particular trade was never as close as reported. If I recall he may have said that it may have even been rebuffed by the Kings.

Interesting, N8 on a team with a good leader in Howard and playing behind Carter would be an interesting fit. Redick for N8 looks like a decent trade for both clubs

u mean players like Fishlips & Duhon?

Sassha is in the Laker dog house and Morrison has been getting off the bench in garbage time to showcase him....I think the trade makes sense...especially if the Lakers throw in a draft pick.

i would love to make this trade... Sasha shows effort on defense & is more conducive to a team oriented style game than Nate is... Nate is the more talented player no question but his shenanigans & unprofessional behavior is seriously a bad thing to have around our young guys that we're trying to develop here... we gotta cut the nonsense & bring in some players who care about playing the style of ball that MDA wants to be played here, not guys who have their own agenda & wanna market themselves after every single play they make w/their non-stop preening & posing... this also gives Jordan Hill a chance to finally get into the rotation hopefully... dunno what Adam Morrison can give u but i don't really care at this point... we need to get rid of Nate's distraction & Fishlips' sucktitude immediately.

ok - i haven't really kept up with anything knick related. i went to the game last sunday vs. the magic and he was in a zone keeping the knicks in the game. so i was just talking to a friend of mine telling me nate is getting "marburied". did he do something wrong?

or is this just another case of d'antoni being a drama queen?

you can't go into a season with Duhon, Hughes, Douglas. Nate was almost a necessary evil.
