i haven't seen jordan hill play at all, but i've seen derozan.
he's probably going to start for the raptors. he plays within himself and lets the game come to him. he's not forcing anything and has looked good on both ends of the floor. he has this presence where he appears calm and not rattled. he will go through alot of mistakes this year but from what i've seen so far, he looks like he could be a solid player. he doesn't look lost. |

Raps vs Wiz - 10/11
Derozan - 36 min, 5-12 shooting, 9-10 FT, 3 reb, 0 ast, 1 blk - 19 pts Hawks vs Detroit - 10/11 Teague - 31 min, 6-11 shooting, 6-9 FT, 5 reb, 8 ast, 2 stl, 1 TO - 12 pts - nice little game here, he's looking solid, especially mixing with all of their talent Nets vs Celts - 10/11 Williams - 19 min, 1-5 shooting, 0-0 FT, - 3 pts Alan Hahn:
Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Havent seen Derozan at all and stats seem good.
http://www.thestar.com/sports/basketball/nba/raptors/article/708827--raptors-demar-derozan-proving-to-be-quick-learner "In what's amounting to a nice dose of tough love from his coaching staff, DeRozan is finding himself in and out of games quicker that you can say "blown assignment" through four exhibitions so far. A handful of times in Toronto's 100-93 win over the Washington Wizards at the Air Canada Centre Sunday afternoon, the 20-year-old prodigy found himself walking to the bench for a quick tutorial from the coaching staff. Never mind that he scored a team-high 19 points and had a couple of highlight reel-worthy forays to the rim, the game was more about teaching lessons than piling up numbers. 'I had to take him out three or four times just to talk to him and it wasn't about getting a breath,' coach Jay Triano said after Toronto ran its pre-season record to 2-2 before a sparse crowd of 11,936. 'He's still making mistakes. ... If Hedo (Turkoglu) and Antoine Wright and Sonny Weems (all injured and unavailable) are here, maybe I take DeMar out and I'd punish him by sitting him down. The way we did it today, I took him out and we corrected it. The good thing about him is he's a great learner.' " Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

I like Toney Douglas. He isn't going to be a great player, but I will take a charlie ward type any day of the week. He gets after it hard on defense, he is a bit old for a rookie so he should fit in quicker.

I am very worried about Gallo right now. I know he is young and not at full strength but I think the athletic ability is vastly overated and he doesn't move as well as I first thought. If he isn't hitting that open jumper he is useless out there. He is slow defensively, although pierce is a tough match up. He is really allowing himself to fade into the backround. He needs to be much more assertive.
I just hope Walsh didn't blow it two years in a row. I would have liked to see him get more creative and really make a deal with washington happen. Derozan looks to be a great piece to the puzzle he would have been a nice two to have long term, Donnie should have used wilson to make something happen via trade to get another pick. It's just preseason, but I saw a whole lot of parts that don't fit together and not much future promise that would get someone here via free agency. |

All those negatives are true MS. He'll be fine though... fills a role. Can just stand out there and drain shots when he gets his legs under him.
What we're really missing is any kind of post game. The PG isn't penetrating far enough to kick out to shooters, and we don't have interior players who are skilled at passing back out. All of this makes the Knicks game thus far very side to side orientated. We're going to need to have Chandler and Al Jr. post up all the time so we have some inside out game, or go back to the Duhon Lee pick and roll magic, or put Nate in more at the point. Something is going to have to change in the formula for the team to win more than a handfull of games. Alan Hahn:

Zach Randolph is a SCURB no matter how many points nad boards he puts up because at his level of production he BECOMES THE REASON for a losing team, instead of BEING A HARD WORKING WARRIOR THAT Is trying to get the team out of the losing hole!

Orange, how much energy do you want to waste on Zach? That has nothing to do with this thread for one thing. He barely played here, and we were terrible before he got here and worse when he left, so it really doesn't matter.
Get back on the topic buddy Alan Hahn:

For whatever the preseason is worth, it seems like these guys are going to start the year making the biggest impact...

What was the downside on this guy? He had so-so combine numbers, and... what?

people around here were scared off by his weak perimeter shooting percentages last year at USC, but i kept tellin' y'all he's always had great form on his J & his shot will come around... throw out those meaningless combine #'s... u watch this kid in game action & it's obvious he's capable of doing things most other prospects in his draft class can only dream of... this kid's gonna be a star in this league

Nice game by Jrue Holiday vs. the Knicks.
DNP-cd lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
