From just watching the second half I'd say the most dominating player was Javale McGee - lots of blocks, very agile for a big man. Hill was also very good at both ends of the floor, especially with the jumper. Also did well in a crowd with rebounding or putting the shot back up. I'm feeling more easy with Hill now.

Ha, UGLY finish with about 5 bricked 3's, but Hill turned it on in the 4th.

I think criticism has been fair at this point, but this IS summer league, the sky is not falling, nor can it turn to gold. Maybe I'm just buying into the propaganda, but I've seen enough to look forward to seeing Hill once he 'gets his legs under him'.

We can at least be assured that Douglas is more than capable of playing point, and we didn't draft another undersized SG.

Acker/Howard/Almond/Crawford never really distinguished themselves from one another, but I'd still lean towards Almond at this point to make the roster. He was quicker than I expected, and actually played D. And that J would certainly look nice in D'Antoni's system.

And I'll repeat myself from a few days ago. If we're looking at TT for round 3, we have to at least consider Skita for that same roster spot. He's shown he can stretch the floor, and makes the effort inside defensively, getting a few nice blocks in the process. For a minimum contract, what's it hurt?

To be honest, I'm almost happy we went 0-5 in a way. I've spent the past few summers watching the SL team go 5-0, 4-1, etc, only to follow up with a 33 win season. Let's get all that bad karma out of the way now.

If KT had any hops he would've been much more than an MLE type player. So i'll sign for that right now if Hill gives us KT+

the hops don't matter if he isn't going to offer any resistance in the post nor box out defensively

PE jr should get a SL invite.

I'm not sure if any one else from this squad should.

If they were going to take two from this squad (other than Hill and Douglas) I'd pick Almond and Tskitishvili.

They can space the floor on the NBA level.

Crawford didn't impress me too much. Neither did Carter. Neither did Howard.

At least they get a mention. Nobody else did much to stand out.

The weakside shotblocking , and the putback dunks are there right now. If he learns to be a banker banger like KT was, thats even better.

he came strong 0.2% of the time from the weakside for blocks this whole SL.
putback dunks are nothing special. the Stro Show's career is proof of that.

Hill has poor instincts on both side of the ball.

Give Jordan Hill credit--he played better as the week went on. I think he pulled into a B grade with that last game. No D and was kind of outclassed by Mcgee but showed well and was productive--besy offensive output for the week.

I will tell you why this draft was tough---last year the talent went VERY deep. If guys like Mcgee Randolph Koufus and Jordan all stayed in school the top 10 would look dramatically different. Jordan Hill would NOT be a top 10 pick--neither would Thabeet.

My basketball fantasy last year was turning that 6 pick and Lee into Randolph and Mcgee. I thought it would be a perfect 5-4 for the next 12 years. LA Clippers Utah and Wash all got high lottery big men in the late first early second.

I guess the main theme with our guys is patience. Neither are busts but neither are ready for big time action. When you win 30 games you hope that 8 pick can be a starter but I don't see that as the case right now.

I agree he worked into a B grade. But going against a player with a year under his belt in the NBA is always difficult. Next year if Hill is playing SL he will be the McGee vs someone else.

well lets put it this way. As a rookie Hill looks a lot better than Mcgee did last year.. At times Mcgee couldn't hold onto the basketball and breathe at the same time... Mcgee has come a long way, but he had potential, so we saw that.. Hill was right there with Mcgee today. Mcgee came out forcing the issue. Hill seemed to play withing a flow, although his dumb azz guards won't get him the ball.... Mcgee looks like a fine player and so does hill. Next year this time.. Hill will be putting up 20/10 in SL with his eyes closed... He displayed two nice post moves today at the beginning of the game.. One lost Mcgee, the other he just went right over him...

Honestly, I don't feel like arguing with you when you provide nothing and all you say is some baseless stuff. Do you really know anything about young players and developing players and rookies and all of that stuff? I guess every big man taken in the lottery is ready to play in the NBA. Give me a break already. Javale McGee - BRIGGS boy - sucked last year. What did he do that was so impressive? He didn't do anything in SL either. One year later he's having a more impressive SL and looks to have improved his skills. But of course you know all. Balkman > Hil.. Hill is a scrub. Might as well release him instead of wasting a roster spot.

The draft is weak. Weak. He was the BPA at that position. If you can't accept or handle that then I'm sorry. Stephen Curry sucked ass in SL too. I guess he should just go to the NBDL now.

Then don't argue with me. Now it's that the draft is weak so Hill is fine? By saying that you're saying he's not good but it's okay. So then you agree with me that he's a mess out there?

The guy is nothing as advertised and is getting owned in SL play. This guy isn't a starting NBA PF. This guy used "being out of shape" as an excuse for stinking it up a few nights ago. This guy has gotten shat on by returning rookies and even new rookies to the game.

But, that's fine, it's just summer league and it was a weak draft.

This guy STINKS. We can't afford project players that might be backup PFs. I'm sorry.. but those calling him Wilcox 2.0 are spot on. Except that Wilcox showed more as a kid.

This MF'er better get his "out of shape" ass in gear this summer and come into camp with something to prove. He's a disaster....

sorry cosmic, but you are off here buddy.. watch the game. He showed more post moves than any big in SL.... and that includes poster boy blake griffin who got shut down by Mcgee.. Hill also was draining that 15-18 foot jumper today. he hit about 4 of them.. were you watching this kid today man.. usually I respect your opinion bro, but you are sounding like a hater here man, and a hater for no reason.. worst of all, what you are saying leads me to believe that you are not even watching the kid..

hmmmm. 15 points on 6-11 with 2 straight jumpers since i've tuned in. and a quick deflection. good thing i don’t' have to rely on the spotty reporting of zero objectivity.

And absolutely murdered defensively. I thought he was a defensive specialist? But, it's just zero objectivity. You got me. Here, I'll be positive.

It's just summer league. Big men take time to develop. Arizona is a good program. Alan Hahn said he's amazing in practice and we'd all be loving his "get after it" style of play. It's not his fault there's no floor spacing. It's not his fault Ahern sucks. Just wait! Kid is going to put the Knicks on his shoulders come October and score the ROY award for 09/10!

Is that better lol?

Seriously, again, for what had been said of this kid, I wonder if they even had the right kid in mind, or if we drafted the same kid or if he's hiding somewhere.

cosmic who is murdering him? Mcgee was guarded by skita as well.... And come on with the stawman arguments here... no one said he was a defensive specialist..If you can find me one article or one scouting report that says that. I will apologize... otherwise you are really way off base..

ummm...Javale McGee by himself says you're wrong. and the replay has already been uploaded by cosmic if you really want to debate this further.
