Tim Thomas & Jerome James for Larry Hughes is a good deal. Though im sorry to see Jerome leave.

We traded a 10 man in the rotation and dead weight for a starting SG. Possibly more mins for Gallo since we were going to stop showcasing people after this deadline anyway.

why does OK do Malik for Wilcox?

Cause they don't want to bring him back after they already thought they dealt him?

If we could get Wilcox that would really make a difference

I think they simply want Wilcox gone at this point. They have no interest in bringing him back.

Yes and we probably are going to include a pick or money. It is a great deal for us.

Perfect attendance for New Years Day practices? If Walsh could just trade the guy that keeps popping the exercise balls.

Is the Wilcox deal looking definite?

I much as I hate hughes as a player, I think that deal with Chicago is great for us. We open up a roster spot without losing any talent and actually adding a rotation player. Wilcox can take T. Thomas's minutes and provide better defense. Hughes at least will give us a defensive presence at the 2 spot, even though he still cannot consistently hit an open shot. Overall, I like both trades.

We need a center now. We can sign Calvin Booth to the full MLE this Summer.

We would need to give him a trade kicker too.

I also thought Tiny Tim was doing pretty well for us this time around. He seemed to have his outside shot going pretty well.

Everytime I look at Tim Thomas I think back to the Bronx Tale movie "the saddest thing in life is wasted talent" Thomas could have been something special if he just wanted it.

Hughes for Fugazy & Turd works for me... lateral trade but we needed a SG & have depth at the SF position... a worthwhile tradeoff... now we can sign PEJ finally.

[Edited by - TMS on 02-19-2009 10:43 AM]

Not sure this is a lateral trade, because the Knicks are clearly trying to make the playoffs and show that they can turn the organization's losing ways around.

Both Wilcox and Hughes minus the others, 3 of whom don't even play or contribute little at all, helps the roster this year.

We have no real SG, and no real big man.

This also opens up a roster spot for Pat Ewing Jr.
