Gall, Martin, Andrew and fellow posters. I apologize for getting personal. I think I have this out of my system now. I welcome your criticisms of me in return, and look forward to getting back to basketball.

I accept your apology.

I'm a centrist in this whole thing. When Isiah was here, this place was an utter wreck. Now it's still a wreck. We essentially have the same roster as last year except that we eliminated our veterans and replaced them with young guys and rentals. I knew we were going to be in the 30-35 win range so now that we are, why would I be upset???

Now I do however understand why others can be upset. I understand why some think that D'antoni is the wrong guy. You don't have to like D'Antoni. You can hate the guy too. He wasn't my first choice either. Same with gall. You don't have to like the pick. You have every right to hate the pick and wish you had someone else. Same with hating/loving Nate or David or Al or Wilson. It's all good. I think Earl's Chandler manlove is hilarious and way over the top. But regardless of what I think it shouldn't matter. He should go on with his man love and not have to apologize for it. Same with Isles/Briggs dislike of Gallo. They don't have to apologize for it. I personally don't think it's normal to call your own player that you drafted a bust 15 games into his career but again who cares what I think. The problem isn't the opinion it's the approach. It's the 800 posts and responses all with the same theme or story. This is not done to inform or debate or converse, it's done to annoy and anger for their own personal gain. That's what I and some others have a problem with.

Show your self-esteem and strong sense of self. Have enough belief in your opinion and ability to communicate it that you don't feel you have to mention it 17 times a day.

Just keep churning 'em out. 35 more of these gems and you can join the elite 10k club.

Knicks' Mike D'Antoni fouled up

BY ALAN HAHN | alan.hahn@newsday.com
11:15 PM EST, February 9, 2009

SAN FRANCISCO - Mike D'Antoni came clean after Sunday's buzzer-beating loss in Portland. He admitted to his players on the team charter that on the final play, when Brandon Roy scored on a driving finger roll to give the Trail Blazers a 109-108 victory, he did not know the Knicks had a foul to give.

The Knicks had not yet used their first foul in the final two minutes, which results in a non-shooting situation. The ball was inbounded with 4.3 seconds left; as most teams do, D'Antoni could have instructed Jared Jeffries to grab Roy the second he caught the ball just to kill some precious time. But no such orders were given in the 20-second timeout D'Antoni called before the inbounds play.

Even Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan was surprised the Knicks didn't use the foul. D'Antoni said: "A position like that, why wouldn't you foul? It makes no sense not to foul."

When asked by reporters after the game about the foul-to-give situation, D'Antoni admittedly was caught off guard. It was then that he realized the mistake.

"When you asked me night, it hit me," he said. "But that's the way it is. That's my responsibility. Probably won't happen again but can't swear to it. I messed up."

With most NBA teams, it is the responsibility of the head trainer to keep track of fouls and inform the head coach, but D'Antoni wouldn't identify who was performing that duty, said he should have been aware of the situation himself and took the entire blame. "I told [the players] that one is my responsibility," he said. "I lost one, they've lost 28."

At practice yesterday here at the downtown Sports Club LA, the Knicks were upset about how some comments a few players made during the 0-3 "Dream Week" at the Garden were being portrayed in the national media.

On Sunday's Cavaliers-Lakers telecast on ABC, former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy said the positive talk after losing should be a concern for management. He said of David Lee's infamous "best 0-3 week I ever had" line, "He should know; he's had plenty of them."

D'Antoni was upset about that observation. "Jeff Van Gundy's a great coach and I like Jeff, so I don't want to get into it, but I thought he misinterpreted what David said," D'Antoni said. "Now you can interpret it any way, that he doesn't care or he's happy to lose. But I don't believe that for a second. I don't think you have a guy who has 37 double-doubles competing every night and playing hard as he can and say he doesn't care."

Lee explained that his comments -- such as Al Harrington's use of the expression "feel-good loss" in reference to the Cleveland game -- were intended to maintain a positive outlook in the media.

"I was disappointed after that 0-3 week, but no offense to you guys, but continuing any bit of negativity doesn't help anything with our New York media," Lee said. "I wanted to stay positive. I always try to stay positive."

This is one of the most over-blown stories of the decade.

It's not like Portland and Roy wouldn't have scored anyway even if we took all but 0.3 seconds off the clock.

My grandma (rest her soul) could get the ball - drive by Jefferies (what a stupid turd) and score in 0.3 seconds.

You should be banned and your post count should be frozen right where it is for talking such nonsense.

You're right here Bip. I do think it is overboard but then again the same posters that seem to have a problem with it also pumped up their post counts with Jamal Crawford/Eddy Curry/Jermome James/Zack Randolph suck threads over the last few years. So it is a matter of being consistent. On the same note, how many more times do we need to see an anti-Nate thread or post as well. I think it is safe to know where most posters feelings are on this issue. Where is the outcry for posting those. Once again consistency should be the key word.

I think I've been 100% consistent on this one and don't disagree with you at all. I again have no problem with anyone who thinks that Zach was a gunner who cared little about team or was a thug etc. Or that Eddy is lazy or nate is a gunner. That's an opinion, right or wrong it's an opinion. Venting after a tough loss is okay too. But inventing ways to make that topic relevant or going from post to post to say "Zach sucks" is tiresome. Breakdown his game, give us the positives and negatives. Show us you can be objective. Calm yourself down and discuss a player. Crack a joke from time to time. Take your meds. Once you've said a guy sucks for the 80th time it's time to move to a new topic, people get where you stand. "Some people" don't really talk basketball they walk around saying the same four phrases over and over again and then others just start fights.

PS: Zach sucks

LOL. Well speaking for myself, I think I went out of my way to illustrate my problems with facets of the organization and its various members. You're not going to see a post from me that a guy just sucks or is a bust. More or less you won't see a post that states he is special or isn't it obvious response. No it's not obvious or else there wouldn't be an ongoing debate about it.

PS: Zach indeed sucks but you know he is going to man handle Lee tonight just like he did in Portland. It wouldn't be a Knick game if he didn't.
