I copied the following from a football board. This could give the Spurs another shot at a title. Duncan, Ginobli, Carter and Parker.

NFT: ***NBA TRADE TALK*** Carter to be dealt soon?
DanMetroMan : 1:08 pm
The Spurs continue to show interest in Nets swingman Vince Carter, most recently offering Roger Mason, George Hill, Fabricio Oberto and Bruce Bowen.
If such a deal took place, New Jersey would immediately waive Oberto and Bowen to get under the 15-man roster limit. No deal is imminent, but it's starting to sound like VC won't be in NJ for much longer.

They would waive Oberto and Bowen? Wouldn't they be useful?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Less than 4 days left. Do we think that Walsh will make a move?

I think he will if there are any good deals out there. Otherwise, he won't.

if those guys were to re-sign w/the Spurs as part of some under the table handshake agreement the NBA should void that trade.

What would the waiting period be on that? I'm not sure they could make it back on the roster in time for the playoffs.

So far Walsh has been an average GM.

1. Signing Roberson F
2. Trading Crawford B
3. Trading Zach C-
4. Drafting Gallo C-
5. Signing Duhon A
6. Bringing in Mike A
7. Offseason extensions for Nate/Lee C
8 Marbury D

I think not moving Zach for a second round pick to the clippers, which was confirmed as on the table was a tremendous mistake. Perhaps TT is a valuable expiring deal next season if you combine him with Harrington but I just don't see it. It clogs up minutes and we don't need the guy. And we could have used Collins as a backup instead of Roberson who is useless and can't even shoot. Gallo it's too early to tell but we passed up prime talent to take the kid.

Lee/Nate we are probably going to have to move one if not both of them and get back lesser unproven talent. I am sure you could have worked out better deals if you had signed them before the season, but until they sign or are traded Walsh get's the benefit of the doubt. If he can turn them into one very good player on a rookie deal then his first year has been a tremendous success.

He's going to be judged on 2010 and 2010 alone.

If we end up with Joe Johnson and filler and Lee/Nate are gone then he's going to be public enemy #1.

Dude, who gives a sh!t if Walsh traded Zach for TT or for a second rounder? The difference is miniscule. The question is only are you happy that he dumped him or not. It was a straight dump -- which most were saying was impossible.
And again with Marbury -- who cares. Roberson, who cares -- league minimum deals are irrelevant, you can always cut the guy.
I do agree, that he prob should have done something about Nate/Lee, but we'll see what happens.
And so far I'm not thrilled with the Gallo pick, but we'll see.

Gallo could end up being good, and you have to think that he looked at the roster and thought... there's no shooters on this team.

However... you'd think that they had to feel that Gallo would end up being Dirk in order to pass on Lopez and Bayless because of our need at those positions.

I know we tried to get Westbrook and OJ. I'd love to know what the holdup was there and if there was any asset we had that could have gotten us either of those players.

This is a buyers market right now, there aren't many if any teams that are looking to take on long term contracts. Everyone is in dump mode right now, So to bash Walsh for not moving JJ or Curry is unfair.

Nah, I'm bashing him for not having the courage to dump the 2010 plan and take advantage of the trade market.

The courage IS the 2010 plan and not the starphuck win-now attitude we've had for years.

Keep doing your thing Donnie.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

When the landscape changes, you change your plan.

If they reduce the overall cap, then we're in a terrible spot.

We would only be able to sign one Max player.

How would that work for us?

Keep in mind that 2009/10 is going to be one of the most miserable seasons in Knicks history if we let Lee and Nate walk.

Since Walsh and the Gallo pick was mentioned, Lopez had 21pts 9 rebounds 4 blocks and 3 assists tonight. Gallo might be develop into a 13 pt 4 rebound guy with a good outside shot but I think that is his ceiling. Walsh messed up the draft.

28 hours until the deadline now...

If we stand pat, I think you might as well extend Lee and Nate tomorrow.

The two Max player thing is fading fast, and we can't go with one Max player, Chandler, Gallo and this year's pick. That will result in more years of frustration.

The status quo is not acceptable.

Do something Walsh.
