tkf, you are getting stingy with your keys on here. Mind if I post them from the other forum.
TKF keys to win
Another team win, another much needed win. Both teams shot, over 50% from the field, from three and over 80% from the line... you would think no defense was being made. I am not sure if that was completely the issue, some amazing shots were being made..
Keys:
First of all, the wizards were hot, in the first half, the knicks contested a lot of shots and the wizards were hitting them with hands in their faces. In the second half they had more open looks, but still, they could not miss. Many people were suprised by Nick young. I wrote about this kid last year I think it was, he is a player , doesn't defend much, but boy he can score. I watched his last 3 games, and he scored 28+ three times in the last 4 games including this one, and well over 50% in each game.. the kid is nasty. Last night he almost singlehandedly beat the bucks, but they just fell short..
Despite the wizards horrible record, they have two allstars in jamison and butler and a nice young weapon in Young. If you don't play them likethey are a 30-7 team you run the risk of getting beat. Those guys can score.. I hope the knicks took note for fridays game..
jeffries: another good game, didn't try to score the ball, only took 3 shots, made two of them and hit all 4 free throws and had 8 boards, 5 offensive. another good game from JJ
Q: Boy nice to see what it looks like when your SG actually produces. he basically neutralized Nick youngs great offensive game, Q with 26/3/4 and shot 6-7 from three, that was crucial. his defense on caron late in the game was more than solid. Big game by Q..
Duhon: Another good floor game, 17/9, but he did have 6 turnovers. He did make big shots and had some nice assists to help seal the game.
harrington: Great off the bench, 27/2/2 steals, although he had just 2 boards it seemed like he was battling down there all night with lee. His big first half was crucial, since the wizards could not miss, Al was also an efficient 8-12 from the field... very good for Al...
Chandler: He had tough defensive matchups all night, it seems like that ever game, and he is doing a good job answering the call, had 14 points and 5 assists, he three sealed the game. he is becomming a very good 4th quarter performer...
Lee: what an I say, huge game, 30/10/6, not far from a triple double. he seemed to get his hands on every loose ball tonight, make every big pass and play when we needed. He took advantage of the mismatch down low and didn't force a thing. He looked for the open man and found Q for a huge momentum changing shot. Lee was money tonight!
Tim and nate didn't factor much in the game, with a combined 6 points between the two..
Overall, the knicks had good ball movement and they played smart late, with lee in the post, executing well and not forcing the issue, but looking for the best shot available. 27 dimes and just 10 turnovers as a team. I will take that every night... good win, much needed win, doesn't matter who the comp is...
Lets do it again friday..
