Francis & Frye for Zach seemed like a no brainer deal too based on talent... our mistake was we paid no attention to the ramifications the deal would have to our longterm plans... it was a trade made as a quick fix band-aid to get fans excited over a flawed product... how would it be different if we made that Curry for Wallace trade even if we were the obvious winners talent wise? it would just be another starphuch trade that kills our longterm chances of landing a real franchise talent, either by the draft or by free agency... it serves no purpose at all other than to get the same fans excited about that trade that got excited about the Zach trade IMO... u gotta keep the cap issue in mind when u make any offer for a player w/that kinda contract.

The Bobcats would have Curry at C and a PF who would fit with him in Ok4.

Curry Ok4 is not a bad frontline.

Definately....Larry likes to play slow and inside and these two guys can fit seemlessly.

This is what Larry wanted from May. Larry called Curry a franchise player, and Jordan will listen to Larry so this deal has legs. I will be sooooo hapy if this goes down.

i would throw in D Lee w/Curry to get back at least another pick if we were to make that trade.

Me too man, get it done Walsh.

I also wouldn't mind getting Jared Dudley back either. I think he'd make a great fit under MikeD.

I think that would be a good idea too but we can't be like this guy....

I think it's a no-brainer that you do the Curry for Wallace deal. I'm surprised the Bobcats are willing to settle on getting back such little value for Wallace who has much higher value than Curry, although it's not really that surprising since Jordan is running things there.

Even if our goal isn't to keep Wallace because of his contract, I'd still do the Curry/Wallace deal (if it's true) and then later on trade Wallace somewhere else when a good package comes up. I think you can get a pretty nice package in return for him.

This trade of Curry for Wallace has legs. Great trade for both clubs. Then you trade David Lee at the deadline for a draft pick and 2010 plan can be intact after all!

Yeah man.....Gerald and Chandler? Knicks get their shot blocker and extra scorer that doesnt need the ball....perfect D'antoni player.

The Knicks deserve this deal.

If Charlotte is serious about trading Wallace for Curry (which I doubt) you have to jump on it. Wallace would fit this uptempo style perfectly and give us another defender which we desperately need. Chandler and Wallace can play together up front in D'Anotni's small ball.

As far as the salaries are concerned, trading Wallace's contract for Curry's really doesn't hurt us at all.

Curry is on the books for 9 million, 10 million and 11 million as an option I believe.

Wallace is on the books for 9.5 million for 4 years with a team option in his 5th year. Basically, in 2010, we would be at close to 2 million less on the cap if we replace Wallace's salary with Currys.

Wallace's has a player option of $11.5 mil in his 5th year ('12-'13), which means ur taking on 2 extra years of salary if u make that deal.

how about offering up Curry & Jamal for Wallace, Felton & cash... that would actually improve our cap situation in 2010 & we'd still have D Lee to use as an asset in another deal... u could move Q Rich to the 2G & start Chandler at the 4 after u traded D Lee, preferably for a draft pick... we'd then have the shotblocker we've needed for a while on the floor in Wallace & u'd have a really athletic team that can run up & down the floor that fits MDA's system... Duhon & Felton would make a nice PG tandem.

If we were to pull off this deal (Curry for Wallace) we still have Lee who we can attach to a another contract (Craw, Zach or Q) and still take back Harrington who expires before 2010.

While everyone here wants to clear space for Lebron, he aint coming here to play with Mardy Collins and Jared Jeffries. We need some semblance of a team that might be ready to win with the addition of Lebron. Wallace, Chandler and a healthy (cross your fingers) Galinari, not to mention D'Antoni is not a bad start.

We don't need to trade Q and JJ2 is the contract the knicks would need to move the most if Wallace came on board. Not Zach or JC.

Why are we discussing such a deal like it's a rumor?

Furthermore, Gerald Wallace on the Knicks will have about the same impact in the win column as he does on the Bobcats - little to none. Gerald Wallace is a nice player and a key piece for a good team but the Knicks wont really be that much better with him.

Getting another long-term deal (I don't care who we're trading) is not the move we need to make. We will get nowhere with these types of deals. The best option for us is to find a third team if Charlotte really wants Curry and give the third team Wallace and get back a contract that expires before 2010.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Just an FYI for you guys.

So far in this young season, Gerald Wallace has a higher FG% than any Knick. He's currently shooting 49%.

no but if we get lucky in the draft this year we will most likely have a nice young talent for him to play with, & if we trade D Lee for another pick & dump Curry's contract there's the chance to get another good talent... add in Gallo, Zach, Chandler, Nate & Jamal & that's not all that bad a roster for Lebron or anyone else to play with... the point is there won't be any chance at all to get Lebron or any of the big names if we make this deal & still have Zach, Jamal & Jefferies on the cap in 2010 along w/the rest of the roster.
