Bobby,

Sarah Palin is a big proponent of abstinence in lieu of safe sex education and if she had her way women in this country would have very little reproductive rights. So yes her parenting can and should be called into question when her unmarried 17 year old is pregnant. Because clearly she wasn't listening to mom's message. Also bare in mind that when a person chooses to enter the political spectrum everything is fair game (which it shouldn't be but it is; that is the reality of American politics.

btw

I don't know any women in her right mind that board a 9 hour flight seven months pregnant particularly a high risk pregnancy for a women over 40.

WTF---her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and McCain knew. What a rollercoaster this is. This is why I think it's insane now to vote for McCain with his bellicose attitude and this women who is just not qualified and has more ??? than need be. This will take back some of the women who might ve been swayed this way--whether people believe it's justified or not--I truly believe the PARENTS have some blame for a female who becomes impregnated before 18[and 18 is way way to young] and on top of it--the 17 year old girl is now going to MARRY the other kid[maybe he's a 37 year old strip club owner?] This is just way to crazy

You guys crack me up, you can't see a set up if it bites you in the butt.

Do you really think mccain if he planned on winning in the november elections he wouldn't have shunned the choice of mrs palin ?

I TOLD YOU ALL THIS FALL YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!

This has all been planned. Might not turn out the way you all planned.

Flying late into pregnancy is s no go and ESPECIALLY for high risk pregnancies. I know, cuz all of my 3 kids were high risk. All were premature and there's just no way you'd get on a plane in that condition.

--->Listen, this is all about Obama’s race and the resistance some have towards it. .

Umm Obama is the nominee and the national poll leader. Unfortunately in America there is some bias in every pointed direction. I think that when people--especially women hear this lady speak--they will *relate* with her and let's not forget women really have been oppressed since the dawn of time. At the end of the day it's all about who becomes President. I really believe Hillary as VP offered a much easier road for Obama--and lets face it who cares about VP. He took a harder road and McCain has gone with an all or nothing approach here and I think it was a very smart strategy. We'll see what happens. But after hearing this lady speak and I sat there for an hour listening--as Im sure you will find out--this is NO idiot and she's very attractive[and we can say attraction is a non-issue but we'd be lying to ourselves] Will she crash and blow up? Maybe? Will she appeal to millions of Hillary supporters and win over some independent men---perhaps she has a solid chance. Forget any rationale thinking and stick with the basics--most people who vote are not that well-informed. I can just tell from my wife--she went to college for 7 years at Uconn and is no dummy but when it comes to politics she's not in the loop although she votes. Now it seems she is enamored with this woman and actually taking an interest. That is grass rooots first hand level. I have to wonder just how many women are reacting like this who are not die hards in terms of politics. It's all about the votes--everything else is out the window--its a glorified popularity contest

I am very encouraged about Obama's progress and the symbolism it entails but that doesnt discount the fact that there are people who will not vote for him based soley on the color of his skin. NOTHING that the will do, whether its appealing to middle america, or choosing Hilary as his running mate will change that.

Hilary's negatives outweigh her positives she was put to bed and for good reason.

And you're right to an extent about this 'glorified popularity contest' which has become more exaggerated in the last eight years. There are consequences --- shrinking worldwide standing, economic woes, unjust wars, constitutional attacks. You get what ya pay for.

I heard she wants creationism to be taught in school and is against abortion

a) women must have the choice, it should never be easy but the choice should be there

This lady has kryptonite. I thought this stuff with her daughter would create problems and now it seems like a sympathetic overture. When we talk bottom line the world has 51% women and 49% men. Whther it's right or wrong[it terms of qualifications of Palin] women will be heard here. It was a gamble/mistake not taking Hillary and on the other side it looks like they have something. We will see what the polls look like next week. This is a rollercoaster and it wouldve been a done deal if Obama picked Hillaryr--now he's going to have to grind it out.

Forget the sympathy---I would go directly after this woman and concentrate on McCain's bellicose attitude and wealth. You have to know how many homes you own!

The media won't cover polls that aren't close because a close election is in their interests but here are the most recent results:
USA TODAY/GALLUP: 50 TO 43 favoring Obama
CBS NEWS: 48 to 40 favoring Obama
CNN OPINION RESARCH: 49 to 48 favoring Obama
GALLUP DAILY TRACKING: 50 to 42 favoring Obama
Average: Obama +6

plus, at this point, the delegate count on a state-by-state basis heavily favors Obama.

This is a free issue Dems don't have to respond to as its already taken care of.

There are so many families with young pregnancy and other "secrets" that it creates empathy if anything. Chaney has a gay daughter, it never hurt him. He came out and supported here and said he loved her. It makes them human.

Obama has a nice point lead and it will shrink, but he'll get it back soon enough.

I for one was befuddled at McCains choice, and actually would have considered him if he picked Liberman, but its not about what I think, or anyone here as the "think tank" is pretty on top of what and who needs to help McCain get elected.

It may be the type of risk that he needed to take to even have a prayer at winning.

I love the conspiricy of whether or not its her baby or not. Thats great stuff.

Any it don't matter, Playa is telling us Bush ain't leaving office anyway.

McCain picks Sarah Palin as VP. Who the hell is she?
