Nates 5-9 in your dreams--hes lucky to be 5-7

Bayless was measured at 6.175 in bare feet 6-3 204

give it up

I heard Bayless was really 6'7" 292 of solid bulldog muscle, measured a 98" vertical leap and bench presses 1200LB 50 times --> one-handed.

Meanwhile Galinari is actually 6'4", jumps 6.7 inches, and succeeded in bench pressing the bar without any weight 3 times.

Bayless will be a cut between tony parker and mike bibby.

When you are talking about Bibby you must only be talking about shooting ability and when you are talking about Parker you must only be talking about his speed.

Tony Parker's role would be perfect for Bayless especially with a Tim Duncan. Tony Parker doesn't run the Spurs offense. Tim Duncan does through the post. I don't know how Oden's passing ability is out of the post or Aldridge. Bayless can knock down jumpers and penitrate with his speed.

That doesn't mean that he is a great fit for the Knicks because we have no Tim Duncan. What the Knicks would need from Bayless as our PG is a guy who can lead, and a guy who can make players better. I don't see Bayless providing that. If he did then Seattle wouldn't have passed him up.

If we want a combo guard who can shoot and penitrate we could allways find those in future draft mid to late to 2nd rd.

We can't keep on blocking everything else out and only look at players talent. Can we learn from our past mistakes.

Bayless averaged 15ft attempts per game with his speed. Thats great but the problem is that he only averaged 1.3assist. I mean if you think about all the times the guy broke down a defense and drew in the defenders then he could have easily set up his teammates for some wide open looks and easy baskets. He should have at least averaged 4-5assist(being generous) based on his ability to break down a defense alone.

Nate robinson has one thing going against him (the thing that sits on his shoulders)

So to compare him to Bayless is silly.

Bayless will be a cut between tony parker and mike bibby.
those guys are both PGs and damn good ones. Has Bayless ever demonstrated that kind of PG ability?

He averaged 20-3-4 last year at az his first year. Tony parker's career assist total avg is 5.5 a game and his max was 6 in a year. I think what bayless is going to be is a very good player like Parker--he has many of the same traits but he can shoot with more distance.

Yo Briggs, real quick. Check that topic you created in the off-topic forum, I asked you a question in it.

Tony Parker... wow, ok. Thats an awful lofty upside. So far when I have seen Bayless face an NBA caliber defender (Westbrook) or play in a really big game (tourney) he looked pretty bad. Look at Bayless's college #s team by team. He ran the points up on a lot of ****ty teams.

In the NBA I feel like you can go out and trade for scoring guards. Its not that hard. You might have to overpay but there are always some available. Frontcourt players are a different story, and if we have a 6-10 forward that can score from anywhere with PG skills thats a tough player we really have a building block. You can go out and buy/trade a scoring guard.

I would want Bayless in the Chris Paul & Deron Williams mold if im looking at a high lottery PG. We would probably have to trade up though.

He may put up similar #s to Mo Williams which is about 17-18pts 6assist. Mo Williams was a 2nd rd pick.

There isn't a gurantee that Bayless will have a significantly better career then Mario Chalmers who was taken #34.

Randy Foye was taken #6 and he may not have a significantly better career then Rajon Rondo #21 or Jordan Farmer #26.
Hinrich at #6 might not have a significantly better career then Barbosa #28
Devin Harris #5 is a similar player to Tony Parker #29(different drafts)

Unless they bring a very high level passing ability, you can always find combo guards who can score later in the draft.

The question is does Bayless have the leadership and intangibles like that to propel him to be more then just a guy who can score and get some passes.

I still say we should have drafted A Randolph...... been watching his Summer league highlights and he is was just a force. Clearly the best player in the building every time.

Wait till he plays against some real big men. There is a dearth of big men in the summer league, couple that with the style of play that is played, and that allows guys like Randolph to succeed since he is talented and has a ton of athleticism.

Wait until the 198 pound Randolph goes up against some 240 pound PF's in the NBA, he's going to get mauled until he puts on muscle.
