The Clips are not done trading. Does anyone really think that Camby(primarily a C) at 34 years old can replace Brand at PF. And the Clips signed Baron Davis to a huge 5 year deal so they can be competitive. They have to make another move for a scorer!

Zach is still on the table. Camby can be dealt for Zach. That gives us another center - we only have Curry at the present time. Also, it gives us the opportunity to trade Curry and have Camby to replace him with.

And I will say this.

I think this Denver trade is being viewed as a monetary issue because the Nuggets took nothing back in return, but maybe they just wanted that trade exception so they could use it in a trade instead of a player? I really do think theres a chance Zach could land in Denver, I'm not saying it's a good chance, but I believe there is a chance. When you look at that team, it's built to win and while all of us here believe Zach does not help you win, I've seen GM's take chances on knuckleheads before. It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

But why wouldn't Denver then pursue Okafor or Smith in possible S&T.

why wouldn't the Clippers do the same for that matter? does anyone here think an NBA franchise would prefer Zach over names like Okafor, Smith, Camby, Marion? this is why i find that whole rumor so hard to believe... i may be totally off on this one but i have to think Walsh isn't THAT stupid. (i hope to God it's not true anyways)

I actually think Dunleavy thought it would be a win win situation for both clubs. He knows the Knicks want to get rid of Randolph's contract and he just got sucker punch with the Brand stuff. Has knowledge of the player, seen him play in the western conference. I am not that shock because I remember Donnie giving props to acquiring Z-Bo last year, also when he was hired. Still didn't understand why come it didn't work out. Maybe he views Z-Bo as a talented player who has a huge contract. Got greedy and it backfired.

Zach is a better scorer and rebounder than Brand, Sheed, Okfor, Smith, etc......... The only PF's better than Zach at scoring and rebounds is Duncan and maybe KG but their overall games dewarfs Zachs to the extreme !!!

I am not a huge Z-Bo fan but I don't think Okafor and Smith give you any better chance at winning either. One guy talent on the offensive end of the floor has never materialize (Orlando still smiling) and the other guy is talented but a knucklehead as well. Smith actually met with Dunleavy and Dunleavy went in this direction.

I'm a big Okafor fan. I wish there was a way we could get him here. I think he'd be great in Mikes system offensively and defensively he's always good.

Either way, Zach's value, even at an all-time low for most of you, is more than an expiring contract and a second rounder. At least make it a first

the way i understand it, there isn't even an expiring involved in the deal... Clips are simply absorbing Camby's contract for a future 2nd round pick... it gives the Nuggets instant cap relief & they don't have to take back even an expiring contract in return... it makes sense for the Clippers to do this type of trade... this isn't quite the same as the rumored Zach deal.

After losing Elton Brand to Philadelphia, the Clippers called the Knicks seeking a deal to acquire Zach Randolph.
Sports Illustrated reports that the Knicks are unwilling to trade the offensively gifted Randolph for what would amount to a salary dump of the final three years of his contract. The Clippers' proposal would not provide comparable return on talent.

The thinking could be that new head coach Mike D'Antoni will rejuvenate the Knicks while elevating Randolph's game and therefore his trade value.

The Clippers can also pursue Josh Smith and Emeka Okafor to fill their vacant power forward slot, but both are restricted free-agents whose respective teams can match any offer.

This is the original deal that Dunleavy offered for Randolph. Walsh wanted back expiring contracts. Dunleavy threw in Cuttino and DeAndre Jordan. Walsh wanted Gordon, I am not sure if he wanted Cuttino. This story was reported in LA as well. From my understanding Walsh just kept asking for more.

The first time I read this. Is this you guessing or what?

too bad we didn't have the cap space to pull off such a move to provide instant cap relief to the Nuggets... Camby woulda been the perfect addition to our current roster IMO... i blame that on Isiah, not Walsh.

I'd deffinately pass. He'll break in half as soon as we get him.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Ok, now that everyone has expressed their feelings, its time to jump off the bridge. Who's first?

People, its July. FREAKING JULY!

The world is gonna end because the Clips made the deal and we are stuck with Zach FOREVER! He will haunt us in our dreams even when his deal ends. NIGHTMARE!

Relax, people. This sure blows because nobody saw it coming and with the proposed Clips-Knicks trade things were looking up for a nice trade to happen. So what? Zach is tradeable! Really! So if it isn't LA, somebody else will.

What if it doesn't happen this offseason? Well, we wait for the next one. This isn't a make or break thing. We have some time and if you've been paying attention to the NBA is that any deal is possible, so Zach's days in NY are numbered...

This has been discussed on numerous blogs as the rumored counter offer made by Dunleavy. On the Clippers blogs they stated the Knicks wanted no less than Gordon. That seems to be speculation as what kill the talks.

They can still trade for ZBo. They need a low post scorer to go along with Camby and Kaman. They have cap space.

Sterling made have been willing to spend money on Brand, I don't think he feels the same way about Randolph and still having to pay Camby and Kaman. Remember the whole reason why Brand talked about opting out of his contract was so he can sign for less money while the team went after Davis. Are you telling me that will still take on Randolph salary to have one of those guys come off the bench. This is Sterling we are talking about not Dolan.

Well that's just as bad holding out for the pick, now he is stuck here till the end of his deal. You just can't get rid of max deals that easily, maybe i'm wrong and we move him for wally or something like that, but this deal was too good to be true. You never hold out in this type of situation.

Gallo looks like a good player, but Walsh just went against everything he preached when he took over. Again you're getting a trade exception, it's not like your are not getting something in return. If Walsh was holding out for a pick where was he when he had the chance to buy a pick to bring in Darrell Arthur or Chalmers to guys with solid pedigree, which were mid 15 type players.

He wants to move Lee? Why not open up minutes for him to start or get additional minutes to showcase players. We suck already we aren't going to make the playoffs and if we do we are out first round so what is he doing

I'm just sayin MS.. if you can't trust Donnie Walsh as GM then who can you trust?

I'll give DJ credit for that slogan, but to me it reins true.

Its not about trust...he just f*** up a deal to rid ourselves of Zach.

How about Zach to Denver for the trade exception and Steven Hunter?

I would have loved the original trade with the Clips, but I'm not going to go blasting Donnie for it yet. Man's going to be working the phones all summer. Might as well give him the off-season to see if he can snag anything for Zach in the process.

The dog and the bone, simply put. Study long study wrong. Whatever you want to call it. I don't see another team with cap space and the right amount of expiring contracts willing to say hey I take Zack off your hands for a lot more than what the Clippers were offering. Donnie shouldn't drink the water at MSG anymore it seems to drop your IQ considerably. I guess the spin will be now Z-Bo will thrive in Mike D's offense.

Bah! Does that mean we could have traded Zach to LA for the trade exemption then traded that to Denver for Camby? Bah!
