I agree that we're not going to get Gordon. But asking for Gordon will make it easier to get someone like Jordan.

I said Brand is Better so lets not get it twisted!!

But come on guys who else in the last 6 years have put up Zach's #'s ! Who else compares so closely to Brand?

Josh Smith who I would prefer never avg 20 and 10 but Zach has twice! I'm saying the # s are not Brands but for what is available
Zach is the closest thing to Brand hands down!

2nd rounder for Zach I would take a tic tac to rid myself of him but that would not make it smart!!

Gordon is a lofty target? He has not Played a minute in the NBA and Zach is proven!

Zach is not a felon! Artest had more off court issue then Zach and got them back Peja!

I'd take Gordon for Zach str8 up. Then I would like to see a Wally(Malik, Jamal, Q for Wally, Eric Snow(last year/cut) trade done and/or somehow pry Harrington and Jax away from Golden State(Marbury, Nate, and Balkman for Harrington and Jax works)

Harrington
Lee
Wally
Jax
Duhon

Gordon, Gallinari, Chandler, Curry off the bench.

A Curry and Jamal deal to Miami for Marion may not be so bad either instead of Wally....

Harrington
Lee
Marion
Jax
Duhon

I don't get it either. The best thing I've ever seen Wally do was to land that dirty pick on Marbury that screwed up his shoulder.

Bro, Zach is nowhere in the same class as Brand. Brand is one of 5 players to be averaging 20 and 10 in his career, minimum 9 yrs in the league. Nuff Said!

Asking for Gordon could make the Clippers laugh and not pick up the phone again. I would ask for Jordan--if not a 1 restricted in 2010[the year we have no pick] and a 2009 2--I think adeal can be made within those parameters. If the Clippers love Jordan--they are not trading him--asking for a 2010 restricted#1 pick and a 2009 2nd rounder sounds fair if we take Thomas and Mobley.

Essentially.......nba gms are playing fantasy basketball.

The Clippers would be dumb to just go ahead and trade for Zach with okafor and josh smith still not signed. Once those deals are decided then these Zach rumors should start to take on real weight.

If Donnie is asking for Gordon? Well you damn right he should b asking for him! Its negociation and trying to see what guys are willing to deal. Its the name of the game....at the same time you could be talking to other teams about potential deals and you don't wanna place all your resources in one deal.

You guys need to take a chill pill. Its July 12th.

It's BS he asked for Gordon--I just checked the rules--Gordon actually signed his rookie contract and now CANNOT be traded for 3 months no matter what--so whatever journalist broke this piece is not only lying but didnt do the homework necessary for the lie. Whoever put that in print is a joke.

Eric Gordon signed July 2 2008 and is not eligible to be traded until Nov.

On the other hand Deandre Jordan has not signed a contract with the Clippers YET that I have found.

Alan Hahn of Newsday reports that trade discussions between the Knicks and Clippers about Zach Randolph could be ongoing.

*could be ongoing* = pure speculation
It may be that Donnie Walsh is holding out for the Clippers to include Eric Gordon, the Indiana guard who was the 7th pick in this year's draft, in exchange for Randolph.

*it may be* = pure speculation
Because the Clippers are under the salary cap, the teams would not have to match contracts in the deal.

only thing factual about this blurb.
Hahn's source tells him that Walsh has been "very active" in trade talks and is "looking at these types of transactions constantly."

hahn's source sounds like he's in the pipeline of information at the garden...or posts for realgm.

this is total unadulterated BS. why do we read something so absolutely vague yet run with it like it's really happening?

Good find. Getting Gordon and losing Zach's contract in one move could only be a pipe dream. But maybe we could get something a little less ambitious while we lose Zach. It depends a lot on what the Clips other options are and who else may be interested in Zach.

Not to devalue Alan Hahn's work as I think he's one of the the better guys on the Knicks beat, but doesn't Little Jimmy own Newsday now?

Any team that is almost established and only lacks a solid PF would certainly want Zach. HE has lots of flaws, yeah, but you make him sound like the freaking antichrist. GMs around the league close to have a playoff team and lacking a PF will certainly call. And other than an expiring contract, Zack is worth a draft pick as well.

teams are lined up around the block to get him from us.

Sarcasm noted...

The details don't have to all be right for this story to have legs. It's not about Gordon in particular, but the idea that the Knicks would want to try and get more out of the Clips isn't far fetched and neither would the Clips interest in Zach be either. Despite his faults he's a PF that can put up numbers and a team like LAC has to explore that option at this point. They can't be so picky as to pass up a chance to fill a void with a top scorer at that position.

When numerous sources report something, it's usually true. No need to be in denial.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
