If you gonna trade him, you gotta do better than Keith Van Horn, which in all reality, shouldn't be that difficult since KVH sucks.

It's as simple as that.

necrom33....name some players that you think other teams would trade Spree for that have similar salaries please. I don't know any off the top of my head.

Trade is still alive BUT NOT COMPLETE. Word is NY is trying to get Keon Clark too for KT! Strange since Keon is not a Utah type person? Anyway,KT is next to go because of his tough guy image. I don't mind getting Clark but not for KT, throw spoon and Knight away if you can!!

Andrew, I don't know. But you seem inclined to believe that the only players in the NBA with these kind of salaries and/or contracts are on the Knicks. "NY can't trade this" or "NY can't sign that" yet teams ARE making moves. My post was more about KVH being not that good, than a condemnation about his salary.

ICE....Robisons contract is similar....but IMO he is worse than KVH. More problems and similar D.

Keith is a lateral move for the Knicks...with more potential than Spree so I'll take it....and he gets to the foul line more than Spree does.

We lose heart and soul with Spree but that hasn't gotten us anywhere in the past 2 years.

necrom33, are any teams out there trading a 16pt per game shooting guard making max money for anything of value?

i will have to disagree i take robinson over horn, and i dislike robinson. i have seen robinson offenseively dominate games, the best i can say for horn is he chips in once in a while.

it's about getting better not just changing to say we changed. i mean i wont mind horn if there is a follow up plan. this has to be a start. if layden acts like horn is the missing piece.....

Keon would make up for the athletism we're losing when trading Sprewell for Van Horn. As far as i'm concerned, getting Van Horn and Clark for Sprewell and Thomas makes us bigger and younger without losing athletism or talent. We're also getting a shot-blocker and two solid rebounders for the price of one.

I think the biggest IF in this god-forsaken deal is IF Dice can return healthy and provide the banging presence down low as well as the 'other option' for Housless come playoff time..

Lemme put it another way. If Dice returns and KVH is relegated to being the THIRD option in NY's schemes, it won't be as bad as I'm expecting to be if he's the SECOND.

Pretty big if, I know....

Hey, it can be done. Philly just dumped a 15ppg forward on us, didn't they?

Excellent point about Robinson. He indeed can take offensive command of games MUCH more than Van Horn does (has he ever? LOL).

It seems like some, but definitely not most folks around here wanted Spree out and don't take into consideration how this trade really puts us on the losing end. Now they wanna trade Kurt for Keon? That could possibly work, but I'd prefer Spree playing with Keon.

Not only are the knicks having their heart cut out, but are getting castrated in the process. We'll be known around the NBA as the New York EuKnicks.

LayDown keeps this up and they will have to have a "Blanket & Pillow" night (on most nights) at the Garden.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

And our heart was cut out a long time ago. Spree was keeping us entertained while we search for a new heart. Now that he's gone, we can get back to the job of waiting for Houston's contract to expire. KVH just makes Houston a happier guy. This IS Allan's team, you know.

He can play the 3. When Coleman ws healhty he played the 3. After the Nets drafted Kmart he also played the 3. He's been in the league 6 years. He only played PF his first 3 years.

Well Spree is the closest thing to a heart that we have. IF (yes, IF, the deal's NOT final) KVH comes here, NYK will be one big flatline.

As far as it being Allan's team...
Allan's team, captain of the Titanic, whateva...same difference.

Totally agree - I wouldn't have given him that contract. But reality is reality. He signed it. It's binding. We must wait. The answer will eventually be a #1 lottery pick or a big FA signing...

And the waiting is the hardest part. More people commit suicide waiting...

The Titanic sunk forever. At least Houston's salary is not eternal.

It just feels like it.

I swear to God in high heaven that Scott Laydown is destroying this team. I used to be really pro-Chaney, but if he wanted this, then now he's just as through as goddamn LayDown and Doh!-lan are to me. Those guys make me sick to my stomach. Not only do they all need to be fired, but they need their ***es friggin' kicked as well.

I'd like to see a Garden full of REAL fans get their hands on the three of 'em. It would be poetic justice. I'd wear my Tims so I can stomp the living hell out of those cats.
