I'm not saying he's good at D or not. I am impressed by those clips, but they are only clips. I'd still rather take Randolf at this point as well, but I wouldn't be upset if we got another pick and we drafted him.

no i get why you would prefer Randolph... u know more than anyone around here how much i value shotblocking & D... just saying this kid seems like he could do well in Mike D's system, that's all... i'm not dead set on us drafting this kid we hardly know anything about, but i'm not gonna pretend like i know he'd be a horrible pick either.

Agreed. Like I said though. If we somehow traded for another pick and Fried Gallinari was still around, I'd take him.

we should definitely explore trade options w/MIL or the Clips for their lottery pick.

The project big I'd prefer most by the way is Speights. He's got a long road to travel, but if you're looking for big men to blossom down the line I think he'll be the best available.

Actually that highlight film does not impress me. Compared to good NBA players, he dribbles too high and it looks like he's moving in slow motion when he's dribbling.

what does that mean Bonn? the guy's 6'9", where do u expect him to dribble the ball, down by his ankles? Dirk dribbles the ball high too, what does that prove? he's a great ballhandler for a guy his size... i'm not trying to bash on ya but if you look at the clips of him he's got the handle to get to the hole & is able to bring the ball upcourt on a fastbreak... what more do you want from a SF? we're not trying to analyze a PG here.
If the guy is gonna play SF in the NBA, his dribbling is below average. Look at how all the top SFs (Carmelo, Caron Butler, Odom, Deng) dribble the ball. They're much lower to the ground, they have more control of the ball, and they go at a faster pace. You brought up Dirk: If this guy can play PF, then he's a good dribbler. If not, I don't see the relevance of Dirk.

Rashard Lewis isn't known for his ballhandling skills either, but he can damn sure shoot the rock... plenty of people around here are pining for a guy like Mike Miller cuz they say this team is currently lacking a consistent perimeter shooter...

if it's ur preference to draft a point FWD who can handle the offense & orchestrate, that's fine, but i don't see ballhandling skills as the single biggest factor to consider when you're analyzing 6'9" SF's... looks to me like he's got a good enough handle to get by guys & get to the hole, has a nice looking J & seems to make good quick cuts to the hole to finish... he could probably fill a needed role on next year's squad IMO.

It's not just ball-handling. He looks SLOW by NBA standards. Sure, he can get to the hole in whatever league that was, which didn't have much defense. The NBA is completely different. I'm not saying he's gonna be a bad NBA player. I don't really know much about him. I'm just saying that if that's a highlight film of him (meaning that's the very best of his play), then he looked unimpressive compared to the good, versatile NBA SFs.
