Well the safe pick is invited to be on the Olympic team. Our guy is in the chiropractor's office in Milan.

He was invited to be on the USA Select team, not the Olympic team.

I mean Channing Frye is on that team, it doesn't mean much.

ROFL@ Briggs CHIROPRACTORS OFFICE joke

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

i guess i was 100% wrong. i knew for a fact that two of the knicks main objectives this offseason were to get rid of zach (#1 on the list) and to bring in an international player. i didn't think they would draft my cousin danillo but they surprised me with the selection. but thinking back on it now, i see why they took him.

it is...i'm going on pure hindsight here obviously. i didn't think they would draft him, but after the fact, you can see why they would. i thought they would address the international player via free agency or trade, not at pick 6.

why couldn't the reason to pick Gallo was because he was the BPA?

it could be the reason, and most likely is the reason. but the pick is telling me that the philosphy of d'alsh is going down a different path than building a team with an ultimate goal of seriously contending.

i think dirk is a great story...and that team did very well. but i also think having a PF like dirk was a one shot deal. i don't think that type of success can be replicated. and we're seeing now that dallas is not relevant anymore. they've now been eliminated in consecutive first rounds with dirk as the main guy. i no longer am vested in whether the knicks do well or not, so objectively speaking, if you're a knicks fan, this pick does nothing to make me say "ok, we're now headed to the big time" b/c it still completely hinges on the 2010 summer.

can we see more than 1 summer league game before we make comparisons? Wow.

Dallas isn't relevant any more cause they ****ed up. Nash, FinDog, and the Harris trade. That's a lot to lose for essentially JKidd.

I don't think the Knicks plan to build around Gallo in the way Dallas has built around Dirk, thus the 2010 or even 2011 timeframe to get under cap.

I am a Randolph guy but I have a hard time believing that he is a better passer than Gallinari. Though I wouldn't want my PF to be my ball handler. Could be useful pressure defense but I want my PF establishing a position in the post. Although with D'Antoni I guess it doesn't matter.

They played Randolph 1/2 the game at pure PG today. Very difficult move for an 18 YO kid who has changed from a college 4-5 to a pro 3-2-1 in the last 4 months @ 6-10+ but he still managed 16 points 8 rebounds 5 assists 2 blocks--that is pretty good considering his size. I don't know if Gallo is a good passer or not but Randolph has the speed to actually play the guard position and has proved to be a good passer in these games. He's not ready to do it in the pros for extended minutes but they have to be happy with that perfomance for the most part. As he gets stronger he could be a better version of what Lamar odom is.
